I heard it was National Pizza Day so I wanted to "celebrate" by having several slices. Navco Pizza had been mentioned to me in a conversation with a co-worker. I couldn't believe I had never heard of it before. How many times had I passed the shopping center where it is. I've driven across Navco road many times not even realizing this restaurant existed. Anyway I decided to order pizza from them. Choosing what to get your first time at a place is really difficult. I usually go for a sausage pizza instead of a plain pepperoni pizza anywhere I order pizza from. I didn't see a single topping sausage pizza I could order and I didn't want to custom order either. Finally, I decided on the Navco Special. It had everything on it from sausage, pepperoni, beef, ham, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and olives. The probability that I would enjoy at least something on the pizza was high. I ordered the pizza and drove to pick it up. When I got there I only had to wait a few minutes. The person at the counter gave me updates on the progress. While waiting I noticed one person sitting down. I grabbed a Lagniappe and started flipping through the pages. As I stated earlier the wait wasn't long at all. When I got in the car with my pizza I could smell all ingredients I named before. I was starving. When I took a bite of my first slice I realized I made a great decision. The pizza was hot and though the pizza was full of toppings they didn't immediately fall off the slice when I bit into it. They eventually do as does with all great pizza but the cheese did a great job of sticking together. I loved all the toppings but for some reason the onions tasted the best out of all the vegetable toppings. I was not sure why the onions stood out but they did. The sausage on this pizza was some of the best I tasted on a pizza. I really enjoyed this pizza. I will definitely come back. read more

This Mom & Pop pizza joint is the bomb!!! The food here is outstanding, everything you like for in a pizza joint. It's a hole in the wall, in a shopping center, it's definitely not fancy but the food is off the hook really good. Carla, a buckeye transplant, and was my server. I got a chance to talk to her about the origins and long history of this locally owned and operated pizzeria. She has actually been there for quite some time and has some influences on the menu, like the BBQ chicken pizza, it's got Sweet Baby Ray's sauce and it's darn good. I had a side salad, honey BBQ wings, the aforementioned BBQ chicken pizza and I was really happy with all of it, fresh and prepared to order. I heard this place had some of the best pizza in town. We were both crazing a hot sub, so we each got an Italian Calzone, it was so good. It is big, we both could not finish it, so we had leftover munchies. I ordered Cajun Pasta to take home to my sister. Everything was really good & filling. The location is small, because it is a local business, it is in a shopping center that has a lot of stores, including a Piggly Wiggly supermarket. I do not think that this pizza joint serves alcohol, but directly next door is the Midway Lounge, has a full bar. You might want to look up the menu for Navco Pizza online, they were out of paper menus at that location, it looks like they had just finished painting/ remodeling, so there was no menu on the wall, fresh dried paint. Food was off-the-charts awesome. Quality and quantity. Even the selection was great. Had a pizza and a calzone. Both were great. Service was good. Folks working there were good and kind. Just needed more people, because they were slammed. One problem: it literally took an hour to get our order! This was way too long. Usually I'd dock a place more than one star for this. The owner needs to get more involved to fix things. I walked in at 6pm, place seemed deserted, and I was instantly overcome by the stench of marijuana. Yuck. I had heard big things about Navco Pizza...that it was the biggest secret in town. Recently went and it was meh. First off, the neighborhood was kinda rough and the strip mall was the same. Very spartan decor and atmosphere. But super friendly staff made us feel at home. After ordering the special pizza (house with everything), we took a seat at a tight booth and reviewed the long list to basic Italian fare and sub sandwiches. Pizza came out nice and hot. Decent flavor but didn't blow me away. Very similar to Godfathers - not special. Maybe I'll come back and get a hamburger sub or a calzone. This place is a gem! I was in town for business and had committed to bringing lunch in for a customer. I ordered several pizzas, wings, and garlic bread. All were very tasty. But I have to mention the service. The women cooking started early( they open at 11), and got my Large order ready to roll so quickly. Hats off to Navco and the gals who work there. One of those hole in the wall places with great food. No, the neighborhood is not the best, but who cares?....they don't advertise as themselves as a fine dining restaurant. All the ingredients are fresh, the food is made to order...they even bake their own bread. The Pizza and Calzones are great. The lasagna is huge and better than Grandma's. The prices are cheap for the amount of food you get.. An average meal is about $6. One of my favorite lunch spots. read more
