They have turkish towels here which I love. Came here for some home and kitchen items, they pretty much have everything. They have some good open box computers avaliable sometimes. I saw a few Macbooks that were an okay price. They have a custom Macbook Pros (open box) with nice specs every blue moon. I know they other open box electronics avaliable as well. The womens clothing is name brand too. The good stuff goes by fast. Recommend checking this place out every now and then. Don't forget your cac! read more

I am new to the area and this my second time at this Navy Exchange. I am very impressed by friendliness and helpfulness displayed by everyone working here. Management- My hats off to Veronica who was cashier today. She went above and beyond in assisting me and informing me of all available discounts that are offered to members, including the coupons that are on the back of the fuel station receipt's. Literally the worst haircut I've ever had, old woman was cutting my hair and I asked for a tiny bit off the top and she literally buzzed my head. Also gave me one of the worst fades I've seen and my hair is very easy to cut. Also they charge $17!!!!!! That's actually insane I might as well go of base and pay $20 if I knew they were so bad at cutting hair. Also not just me a lot of people get the opposite haircut they asked for. Very nice Navy Exchange. You need a military ID to shop here. The layout and wide and spacious. I'd consider this a medium to large exchange. They carry clothing, bedding, household goods, toiletries, vitamins, electronics, sporting goods, hardware, alcohols/spirits, candies/snacks and small food items, appliances, gardening, jewelry, and more. It's a tax-free department store. You have to be a savory shopper and check prices. There are a lot of items that are less expensive here but others you either want to wait for a good sale or see if you can price challenge. Yes, they do accept price challenges from the major competition. Find it cheaper somewhere else, just show proof and they will match. Again, no sales tax. There's a small food court in the lobby as well as vendors selling other stuff that varies from time to time. read more

Military/ Base Access only!! It's not the biggest nex but has a wide variety of items if you need things in the area. From electronics, tools, outdoor items, to clothes, uniform and alcohol. There's no tax when you buy things here so if your planning a larger purchase like TV, Xbox, Switch, PlayStation it might be worth it to buy it here or order through the online nex to this store. Last tip is if you get a haircut through the barber ask for your receipt. On the back of it is a $5 coupon if you spend over $50 at the nex. read more

Great stop for us along our coastal road trip. It's always nice to stop at the local bases to fill up on gas and do some shopping in a safe environment. We came in on Memorial Day and there were no crowds, no long lines and we had the store to ourselves. They have everything you need if you're planning any water sports or beach time. A great selection of local wines to choose from too. All the usual wares you would find in a NEX shoes, clothing, bikes, outdoor grills, housewares, etc. It's not a big store but you'll get what you need. Kids were happy to find some Skylanders-(which by the way suddenly stop working but to fix them just: leave the Skylander on the Portal of Power, then hit the Alt-Tab button, disconnect the portal of power, then reconnect it again, then un-minimize game, hit Alt-Tab again and it should reload the character! It worked for me!) hubby got some neon running shoes and I bought a nice blouse, everyone was happy. Plus no taxes! There was some construction in the food court area so nothing was open. Friendly service. I look forward to coming back the next time we are in the hood. read more

Above average Navy Exchange. Fairly large size, decent selection. I continue to be surprised by the items they carry in stock and the prices. Most recently, I was looking for a specific highly rated Samsung HDTV. Not only did they have it in stock, but it was on sale for $100 less than the AAFES online price. As far as NEXs go, the one on Port Hueneme is surprisingly standard and on par with those found at smaller bases. Many of the major clothing, kitchenware, electronics, and home goods brands can be found here albeit at more limited variety. The Navy Pride section is pretty weak considering how large and active this CBC is. Most of the items here are at regular price (even if the NEX insists it's "on sale"), but as is the case at nearly every Navy base, transactions are tax free. There are, however, certain products and/or brands that are cheaper on base. There's a food court inside, while the barber shop and a couple of CBCFCU ATM kiosks a mere few feet away from the entrance. read more

I am writing this review based on the great customer service I receive every time I come here! I have been stationed at this navy base a little over two years! Every time I come in here the employees are very friendly and are willing to help you all the time! Today I came in and literally needed a 1 gallon water jug and couldn't find them anywhere and finally I asked their employee, and he ran around 15 minutes throughout the entire store just to help me! True customer service I love! And the lady who was in the children's clothing department was very nice as well! The store itself is very clean and very well organized! I think it's rather odd that they only sell the liquor and beer inside the NEX, it should be in the commissary with the food.. I love the brands they have here, and I always find what I need and are great with my coupons!! Totally worth coming here! read more

The first Navy Exchange I have ever been to so it holds a special spot for me! They have a large selection of Electronics, name brands (my favorite location for perfume, clothing and shoe selections) and toys. On top of the tax free aspect- their price points and quality are unmatched. The staff are always friendly and helpful; where I first learned about match to Amazon/ BestBuy/ Wal-Mart from the staff at this location. We always make it a point to make a stop whenever we are in the area. Living far from a base reminds me to be appreciative for base perks; especially the nicer NEX locations like this one. read more

The navy Exchange at Port Hueneme is marginal at best. The management/buyers obviously live in a different world than customers. This can be seen in the high dollar products on sale that are out of reach of a large percentage of customers. This exchange would do much better if they would relook product lines and start to buy things customers want, not what the buyers want. As far as prices go... Tax free makes it barely worth the trip. read more

Beware of buying jewelry here. If you buy any expensive jewelry from here, get insurance. A diamond from my wedding band fell out the day after my wedding. Finally, they helped me by having the manufacturer replace it. After getting the ring repaired, it lasted four days before the same exact diamond fell out. It is one of the smaller stones on my rings, so its not the end of the world, but it makes me question the quality of the products they have. Buy your jewelry from jewelers you can trust and that offer warranties on their work. If I was wearing my ring for a year, I would feel responsible. This is however ridiculous. And it sounds like we are stuck with a very expensive defective ring. Since it was sized they will not take it back. Jerks! Carmen, the manager, has been very nice and helpful. I do not blame her for store policies. This is simply a warning to those who like to shop on base tax free. When you buy jewelry, go spend the extra cash, and get it from a reputable jeweler. Im giving one star, not because I have a defective ring. In all honesty the tax free prices here are not that great either. Ill stick to getting gas on base, and nothing else. There is no point or benefit to shopping here AT ALL! High prices... low quality products... rude sales associates... I say go elsewhere. read more

Nice staff, clean store but lines are always long. I like the store in general just don't shop for clothes here. Prices are high for clothes (not all of us are officers families). Some of us need $15 - $20 jeans not $55 and up!!!!! Clothes for women reming me of old ladies..... (Can they find clothes that fit the E1 to E9 budget???!!!) I can go out in town and get two or three pair of Levi jeans for the price of one pair of Levi jeans at the NEX. read more

This NEX has improved somewhat, but I yearn for the better management of Exchanges... pretty much anywhere else. I feel I've been in smaller NEXs (Everett, WA, comes to mind) that looked, felt, and were run better. read more

I've grown up on this base, and have had great experiences here. Unfortunately, this evening was my first bad experience with the Navy Exchange. I went in to buy a curling iron and when I went to pay, she stated that one of my privileges on my card was missing and I couldn't buy from there. (Mind you everything I need in there in that little bottom right corner so I was staring at it and staring at her like...IS YOU BLIND?!) Everytime I tried to point it out she got louder and louder and kept stopping me saying MA'AM YOU DON'T HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF SHOPPING HERE I DON'T CARE IF YOU HAVE BEFORE YOU ARE NOT PRIVILEGED TO. Which is kinda funny because I was like thinking "Why you yelling tho I'm like right in front of you lol" Anyway..thaaaat was humiliating and I feel pretty personally attacked right now. This rating is in regards to the attendants at the gas station. On 1 May 16, I visited the Port Hueneme Main Navy Exchange gas station. I noticed a promotion to get $5.00 off your $50 NEX purchase with minimum 25 gallon purchase. After I was done fueling my car, the pump dispenser did not print out a receipt. So I went inside to request a receipt. As I walked in, the two ladies behind the counter were in a deep conversation. No one else in line but me waiting to get their attention. Suddenly, one of them glanced at me and yelled out "WHAT". I kindly asked for a copy of the receipt. She gave it to me with an attitude. What kind of customer service is this? It definitely spoiled my day. I traveled from Lancaster to shop at NEX and visit the beaches near by but her attitude spoiled my day! read more

Usually have a pleasant shopping experience at the Nex until I hear the workers who are Filipino arguing and talking loud. They have just about anything all in one store at reasonable prices. They also price match, which is a plus. I love La and Debra, they always put a smile on my face when I see them. We purchased over $2k in electronics for Xmas on Dec 8. On Jan 28, we started having trouble with a DVD, 7 days after the 45 day exchange policy expired. We were told to return item to manufacture. Returning to manufacture is such a hassle, we threw it away. Never buy electronics from NEX unless you live locally. We live out of the area & any savings in sales tax is negated by travel time & gas. We've found that prices at the NEX are not that much of a savings over buying locally or the internet. We have made our last trip to Pt Hueneme purchase items. Maybe it's time to do away with exchanges in large metro areas. read more

Just got better! They now close one hour later it used to be 7pm now it is 8pm. Uniform shop inside NEX among other stores. Dry cleaning can be made through customer service and they also sell stamps. They have decent selections as far as variety of brand name items. I shop often at the Seabee shop. Can Do! read more

Fair selection of goods (obviously a Macy's sublet going on in here), a uniform shop and the store is clean and well-lit. The food court has a Panda Express. I went there on a weekday and found it quiet, not crowded and easy to shop - just the way I like it. The staff is friendly and helpful. Checkout was pretty quick too. The biggest plus is shopping with no taxes, but you should know your prices. Retail pricing is competitive with the outside and at times better outside (i.e., outlets, etc.) than at the NEX. read more
