Anytime I have questions or concerns, they are addressed promptly and professionally. The staff--whether on the phone, through the 1-800 number, or in-office--are always kind, understanding, and patient. The process is straightforward, and the website is easy to navigate. Even when speaking with an attorney or judge through Social Security-related matters, I felt heard and respected. That's a rare feeling with government agencies, and it deserves recognition. A special shout-out to the Norwalk office--they go above and beyond. Overall, Social Security provides truly outstanding service. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a big round of applause!

However, two security ladies are rude; they are middle-aged, and one appears to be in her early 60s, so please keep these disrespectful "low-class security guards" in your head. These women are so lazy that they would rather waste their breath and sound dumb than get up and unlock a bathroom. My dad and I came from the courthouse, and we were told to go to Social Security; however, we didn't know we had to book by appointment. My dad had to use the restroom, which so happened to be very close to the entrance. The one in her late 40's or 50s started whistling for about 10 seconds; we were confused at first because (why can't a decent or educated person use their words to grab someone's attention), so we walked to her desk, and she gave us attitude, asking various questions like, "Why didn't you go to the courthouse" over and over again as she is making mockery faces thinking she knows better. Keep in mind the courthouse is about a 15-minute walk and a 15-minute drive from the building, and these are the furthest apart; the library is closer to the courthouse. My point is that's enough time for someone not to be able to go. Plus, your desk is about 20 meters from the entrance. Then the 60-year-old butts her way in, basically copying her coworker, thinking she's helping HER. She does end up opening the door. Then asks me rudely if I needed to go. Like, come on, all you had to do was get your a## up. When I finally came for my appointment two weeks later, the 60-year-old was giving me a hard time again. For a different reason, now all she had to do this time was direct me, which was only a few steps to the sheet and say, "Fill this out". On my end, all I did was show my confirmation. End of story, like why they have to give people a hard time. For security guards, this attitude is utterly embarrassing even as human beings. The staff actually handling the social security can give customer service 1000 times better, says a lot about you as a person.

The supervisor made it clear since I was late that he can reschedule appointment which was frustrating, especially since I still needed assistance. I understand the importance of being on time, but some flexibility or clearer communication would help specially when you take off from work just for appointments. Also, parking in the area is very limited, which can make it difficult to arrive exactly on time. Improving parking access or allowing a small grace period could make the experience better for visitors.

Served my civic duty for one day in the jury room. Only 36…read morecitizens were called in to serve. The lady taking our info in the jury room was pleasant and professional. I was grateful that I did not get on the jury panel for the case. I had prior commitments for the week! Free juror parking - the parking ticket is stamped for validation in the jury room. But there was no attendant at the end of the day to take the ticket. So it was still free regardless. No cafeteria on the premises but many food options around. Restrooms were clean and stocked. No photographs allowed in court of course. Jury room has basic computer equipment for temporary use if you need it. Several people brought work with them , I brought a book..

So I was sitting at home last night watching the voting results for Obama and Clinton. I was…read moregetting really mad about the fact that in SF they ran out of Democrat ballots and they were keeping the polls open to try to fix the problem. Then I am remembering the whole hanging chad crap and the Florida results that came down to less than 1,000 votes. WHEN all of the sudden I hear a noise outside. Was that someone crashing into my car? I look out window and what is in the middle of the street? An official ballot box and some official equipment (see photo). I go out there and there is a couple in a car that pulled over. We lift the ballot box and put it on the sidewalk. Apparently, a pickup had it's tail gate down and the boxes fell out. Is this a conspiracy? So the couple call the number on the top of the box but there was no answer so we called the Norwalk office (the head of So Cal voters registration). We explain the story and ask if they wanted us to drop it off but they said no they wanted a Sheriff to escort the box. So we wait for about 10 minutes when the pick up truck drives up and sees the boxes. Well we were not letting them leave now with the boxes the Sheriff's are on there way and they were not happy AT ALL. Well they seemed a bit mad so we called the police until the sheriffs could arrive. Once the police were there they called Norwalk and straightened up the issue. Apparently the boxes did not have any ballots in them only paperwork, the ballots were in the cab of the truck.
