Food was great again, however we decided to get take out this time hoping quicker service. We were told 45 minutes and were fine with that as we had shopping to do next door. My husband went after 60 minutes to pick up and waited another 30 minutes. I think they may just need more staff to reorganize and prioritize customer experience. The food was great again and we really hope to support them when in town but the slow service both sitting in to eat and take out may not allow us to choose it. read more

Best food I've had in Greenville. The food is well seasoned, perfect consistency and great portions. My favorites are the garlic naan, gobi manchurian, dal makhani and the garbanzo saag. Having eaten Indian food for over 40 yrs all over the states, this was a special meal. It's more a Nepalese menu, and it is exceptional in flavors and quality. My husband got the royal meat thali, me the veg thali- we shared. It was awesome. Delicate refined flavors. I giggled as I indulged. Price was very reasonable for the quality and portions. Can't wait to return for the momos! Bar looks very god, creative drinks, alas it was lunch so no alcohol this time. The staff was and service was excellent, also. I asked for other complimentary sauces and they happily provided them. When we return to Greenville we will def return here. read more

Quite good Nepalese & Himalayan food on 19 November 2024. Unfortunately the service was terrible particularly due to this one awful waiter. The waiter irrational refused to let us order all the dishes at once so I had to watch my colleague eat her dinner before I could order mine (and he also also gave my vegetarian colleague chicken momo instead!). Mind you, mine were just garlic naan and lamb saag. After waiting for 30 min, I was fed up, I got up and told them to give us our check so that we can get the hell out and immediately my dinner magically arrived at the table. So awful. The restaurant wasn't even busy when we got there 30 min ago. The table of 4 business men next to us came after us already got their dishes and 1/2 way finished before I got mine. I could only conclude that we were discriminated. We just arrived from CA for a business trip. We won't be back here again. read more

All of my points on the previous review stand, however this time I made the mistake of eating in. Our waiter approched us speaking very softly. Turns out, he was having a continuous conversation on his ear buds, which he continued to do throughout our time there. Although we were only one of six people in the restaurant at noon, we were ignored for over 15 minutes. Fast forward 45 more minutes to have our waiter approach us again. It's now 1pm. The food was good but really with this type of Indian food why not stick to the buffets like Cinnamon and Kasturi. You can eat immediately. You get more variety plus salad and sauces and the quality and price is the same. I'm not saying never order from NC Spices but if you do, do it take-out and order ahead. food is very good i will definitely give them that. But i have absolutely never been so aggravated with how long the food takes. On a good day, ordering ahead of time and picking it up will take AT LEAST an hour. I have come in many times and have had to wait over that hour. Had a really great experience. I think it's a newer place in town, but the service is good and the food is great! Came here with a friend this time but it's got plenty of seating for small or large parties. There are several selections of vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals on the menu. We got an order of fried veggie momo with 2 lamb entrees and a side of garlic naan. The naan was soooo fresh and soft. We definitely left here feeling full and satisfied. The food was very flavorful, came out at just the right temp, and the wait staff was very attentive to our needs. Would definitely return. read more

Excellent restaurant. 1 of 4 indian restaurants in eastern North Carolina. The lamb kadai was outstanding alongside the garlic naan. The kashmiri naan as well was something new that I've never had it seems great. The waiter was Goan and was great. The inside of the place had no resemblance to Nepal or India kinda looked like a burger place. Unfortunate be as it there was so much potential there. This has to be the best Indian food in town. I ordered the lamb curry and it was amazing. The lamb was fork tender and the spice was perfect. I asked for the medium since I hadn't been here before and it was just right. The garlic naan was a great accompaniment to the curry. If you like Indian cuisine give this place a try. This place is amazing. The seasonings and spices they use make their dishes so incredibly flavorful. I could go on and on about how their chicken is melt in your mouth and the rice is cooked so well. And I don't know if you can relate but I have chicken anxiety so I never order chicken from a restaurant. So when I say it's good, it's super good. And I absolutely love how flavorful their cocktails even are! The service is always good and they're so attentive there. This is honestly my favorite restaurant in Greenville. Hands down. read more

Very good, I wish we ate in, it would have been even better. We ordered to go as it was late in the evening. Grilled meat platter and the vegetable platter. Both came with rice and all of the accompaniments. I will go back and eat in. Very nice atmosphere and the waiter and bartender were very attentive while we sat and waited. They gave us lassis!!! Omg.. this place and the food is amazing!!! My neighbor, who's from England & his wife is Irish highly recommended it. He's a photographer and has spent a great deal of time in Nepal. They were not wrong!! The people that run it are friendly and helpful and the food? Fantastic!! I can't wait to try everything, but have had the crispy chicken chaat momo's, Ghost (Goat) Rogan Josh and their curry chicken. Unbelievably delicious!! I can't believe this place isn't packed! Be patient when you go, they make your food to order, so it will take 15-20 mins, but it's so worth the wait. When you see this place, people think it's a spice shop, someone even came in while I was there asking if they sold spices. It's authentic and delicious! I literally crave it! Food is great but the seating is very uncomfortable and the tables are so big you feel very far away from the people you came with and can't hear each other talk. And at the round tables your knees bump into the table (barrel) so also uncomfortable. However I like the big pour of wine and great food . Just get new booths ! read more

Ordering can be challenging due to language issues -- some of the wait staff's English is limited and my second language is German which doesn't help at NC Spices. One waiter had better language skills but we didn't communicate well on spice levels--everything was mild rather than one very spicy and one mild. Otherwise, the entrees had good flavor. The sweet Naan is unique but the butter and garlic Naans were ok but not great. read more
