Chris stood apart from the competition from the second he stepped through our door by bringing samples of different types of woods for us to consider. He also submitted a complete and thorough quote very quickly after meeting with us, and we agreed that he was the right person for the job. He came to our house for a second meeting before beginning the woodwork and spent a considerable amount of time walking through artistic details with us. From the time we gave him a deposit for the project to the complete installation, only a couple of weeks had passed. The speed with which the project was complete obviously provided a great sense of satisfaction but the workmanship on our pieces is unparalleled. When all was said and done, we ended up with multiple tiered planters and a pergola in our backyard, and a custom bench with built in planters and accent shelving on our roof deck. The final aesthetic of each piece FAR exceeded our expectations and has only managed to make us anxious to work with Chris again. Everyone who has been to our home since the installation has "oohed and ahhed" over the finished product and that includes people who helped build our house. To admire the carpentry that Chris created is one thing, but his professionalism and integrity really sets him apart from the competition. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for quality, customized carpentry and in fact, I would recommend people consider his services rather than purchasing cookie cutter pieces from local stores. Now that we know Chris' artistry and skill, I can think of many other projects we will work with him on from gifts to furniture needs and house upgrades.

Thank heavens my landscaper recommended Chris - I was skeptical, but was impressed that Chris showed up at my house 15 minutes after my landscaper called him. I really only used Chris because I trusted my landscaper. Having said that, my landscaper was right! And thank heavens I listened to him. The stairs are beautiful. Ipe wood stairs with a timbertech railing system. They look better than I even thought they would. And I had high expectations! The cuts were really well done - everything aligns perfectly and they feel very, very solid when I walk on them. Chris is, in his way, an artist. But I suppose all good carpenters are. I will use Chris for any other carpentry needs that I might have.

I am, however led to write this review because out of the many contractors we spoke to when we were trying to find someone to take on some major renovation to turn an old-school manor into a multigenerational home, Kenny was thoughtful, communicative, and most of all, flexible! We didn't know what was possible with the house, but Kenny worked diligently to present many options and make us feel secure. Hiring someone for a large scale, expensive project is always a bit nerve-wracking, but we felt better knowing our home was going to be in Kenny's craftsmanship-oriented hands. I wish we could speak to the entire experience! But alas, maybe next time as we would definitely go with Kenny and Buckminster again.

Hired Pristine Exteriors to do 15 house windows, its frame (the entire window) and got an estimate from Jay Hughes. Reasonable. He spent about five hours and did an outstanding job. He got his work ethic from his time in the Marine Corps and those core values by the grandparents that raised him. I can't say enough and am completing every review this baby boomer can figure out.

I have to start this review by stating I normally only write positive reviews for deserving people…read moreand businesses and would not normally leave a poor review which could adversely affect a business which potentially was simply having an off day. This is not the case with Jeff Kunkle and Pristine Home Exteriors. This needs to be shared in hopes of preventing others from making the same mistake. I hired Jeff Kunkle and Pristine Home Exteriors in April 2024 to address a leaking roof and water damage on the front of my house. Work began in May and continued for months. Although the work itself was sloppy on the finishes- "Pristine" is an incredible misnomer!- and Jeff often did not respond to calls or show up when he said he would, for the most part, the work was being completed and the leaks had stopped. This began to change when the invoices were mostly paid. When that happened, calls/texts were left unanswered and days on-site became few and far between. What's more troubling is the issue with the windows. I was told I needed new windows, at a cost of over $7,000 for both the windows and installation. Initially, I was informed that the windows would take 10 weeks to arrive, which seemed odd but not concerning at the time. After the wait,I was told the windows had arrived in the wrong color and could not be painted without voiding the warranty. Then, the story changed again: I was told the windows were never actually ordered, and that an employee of Jeff's had left town with the money. The inconsistencies in these stories grew more unbelievable over time. Furthermore, it turns out that the windows were never even necessary, and Jeff now admits he owes me a refund for this, which I'm sure I'll never see. We were left without repayment, an unfinished front of house, and unfinished roof ledge and owed money for the windows which never arrived. I have similarly left feedback with the Better Business Bureau and will pursue small claims court to recover my losses. Please stay far away from Jeff Kunkle, Pristine Home Exteriors or whatever business is subsequently spun up when this one is bankrupted.

The…read morescope included leveling a large area of the floor that had missing tiles, installing a floating laminate floor over the tile, replacing/patching wold molding around the windows, patching drywall, building custom door fronts for cabinets below a bench area, replacing old track lighting with new recessed LED lighting, and painting. I ended up adding a sink area (which required him to install a cabinet, hook up old plumbing, and install tile/grout) after he'd quoted the job and he was happy to accommodate the changes. He also ended up creating a new wooden top for the bench area, which was also not planned, but he did a beautiful job and was extremely fair in the additional cost for the work. He ran into several unforeseen challenges with my old house, but he always came up with creative solutions. Krisz was friendly, courteous, and careful about keeping the work area clean. It took a bit longer than he had estimated, but he kept me totally informed about the change in the timeline throughout the project. The end result was much better than I expected. I would hire him again without hesitation!

The work we asked him to do ranged from removing a load bearing wall, replacing a full kitchen, renovating a bathroom, and remodeling our bedroom to include more storage space. We were impressed by his workmanship, versatility, and willingness to problem solve (for instance took ideas we had on how to add closet space and simplified them to reduce cost and time). He likes to do most of the work on his own, allowing us to avoid many issues of variability in quality when dealing with many and multiple subcontractors. With respect to work style, he is consistent, fair, and courteous. In our experience, he was completely dedicated to working on our project and ensuring it was completed well and on-time. Where there were scope adjustments we came to an agreement that seemed fair to both of us. We would happily work with Daoud again on any project, big or small.

We hired KMC Construction (Kyle) for our bathroom remodeling project after speaking with several…read moreother contractors. KMC's quote was reasonable, but what set them apart from the very beginning was Kyle's superb attention to details. His project description was unparallel...from how he would cover the floor, to the specific brand/type of grout he would use, to the exact type of fittings he'd install behind the shower...talking about being meticulous. Others would just give a two-liner description and a ridiculously higher quote. I have hired many contractors for different types of projects for the house, but I NEVER came across someone who is a caring person like Kyle. Get this, he noticed a flat tire on my wife's SUV. I was going to call AAA, but before I could blink he drove out of the driveway, went to the local automotive store, bought a flat tire repair kit and fixed the flat tire! What contractor would do that? As for his craftsmanship, Kyle is a true example of a perfectionist. I am not exaggerating, each step of the project from demolition of a 4" thick concrete wet bed, to framing the walls and the niches, to tiling/grouting, to painting the wall/ceiling/trims...he did everything painstakingly. He was very helpful, understanding, cooperating and again CARING person whom anybody should hire without a hesitation. He truly goes far and beyond. He not only works around your budget, but also throws in freebies (and they are not cheap freebies, they are more involved work, like moving the floor plumbing system for the vanity to behind the wall, or installing additional stuff like the vanity lights, medicine cabinets, etc. etc.) to make your bathroom completely transformed into something that you could ever imagine of. He worked straight through weekends, stayed late hours, and made absolutely 100% sure that everything was done correctly, and beautifully right from the beginning. Bottomline is this: if you want just a contractor to do your job there are plenty of them in the market. But if you want a truly caring craftsman to do the job and treat your home as his own, Kyle at KMC Construction is DEFINITELY your guy. He does not rush, or cut corners to get the job done quicker...that's not Kyle's style. For example, one of the features of our brand new Moen shower head was not functioning, for which Moen sent us a new replacement. Kyle offered to drive all the way (over 30 miles) to our house just to install it for us. I never heard of any contractors offering this kind of a service. Will we hire Kyle for future projects?
