I had used the same agent for almost 20 years... but when Cali got crazy with insurance, I had to make a change from Nationwide. I have known the folks at NCPA through business for a long while but had never given them an opportunity. Low and behold, my existing coverages were not sufficiently appropriated. Joe and Mary did an excellent explaining this and showing the gaps in my current coverage. Now I have the correct policies for my primary and my rental, and I even added earthquake. If you want a straight forward analysis of your coverages or if there is money on the table you want to save, I would not recommend anyone else. I purchased a used vehicle at a reputed dealer. The salesperson arranged NCPA agent at the location itself. I paid $516.34 to the NCPA insurance agent. As per him, the amount is covered in coming months. I signed the documentation as per him. When I see the statement online, I could see $116.34 is paid to the actual Insurance company (ANCHOR GENERAL insurance-TOPA insurance). Means they have charged $400 without my knowledge or without any information. ​ Then I informed my dealer about this. Next day, I got call from NCPA saying they are refunding $400. Then I got the cheque next day itself. After that I searched about the insurance company as I didn't heard about this company so far (ANCHOR GENERAL insurance-TOPA insurance). I could see that 98% reviews are giving poor ratings to this company. All are one star or below. Now I need to work on changing the insurance. Summary : Don't fall pray to these insurance agents. Do not under any circumstances use this company for your insurance services. First of all the insurance broker lied through his teeth about a everything. We bought a car and needed insurance to collect it being new to the area we thought a broker would be best. These people are a complete fraud - here is why:- 1. We wanted to get insurance for a year, we were quoted an astronomical fee of $1000.00 for 6 months plus their $350.00 broker fee. We were told that that was the cheapest we could get - we got that same price from another company for a whole year! 2. We asked for a quote for a business auto insurance - they guy was vague and said it was so expensive it was not worth it - we got a quote from another insurance company and found out that it was possible and was not that much more at all. 3. We asked to see our policy before leaving the office - we were told that it was being printed. When we asked again we were told we could go online. 4. They had great difficulty in setting up our online service with the insurer - they had to set it up using their email, then we had to go in and do it ourselves. 5. We asked if we could cancel our policy and we were told it would cost us a lot of money - it would not be worth it and that we would get very little back. We did cancel our policy and we got $883.00 back - and didn't have to pay their exorbitant fees as we did it directly with the insurer. DO NOT USE THIS INSURANCE PROVIDER THEY ARE NOT HONEST AND DO NOT GIVE YOU THE BEST DEAL - THEY ARE JUST OUT TO MAKE THEIR $350.00 FEE AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE AND GET YOU OUT AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT FOLLOW UP SERVICE. And even after we sent emails to show the differences we got vague responses and eventually we were ignored. I hope that this post will ensure that no one uses them and they treat their clients with respect and do not deceive anyone else. read more

They are very military friendly and I was extremely impressed every single time I worked with them on their level of professionalism, dedication, and honestly. I always felt that I could 100% trust I am getting the best rate and coverage. IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM. I recently moved from the east coast to San Diego and purchased a vehicle from Hertz. The Manager - 'Chico' told me that all cars must be insured before they are sold, so he recommended this pathetic company to me. The night we initially tried to establish a relationship I was in the dealership for an extra TWO HOURS as there seemed to be an issue with their system, as their credit card system wasnt processing, and their fax machine wasnt receiving documents. So 3 weeks later my mailbox is flooded with at least 15 pieces of mail from two separate insurance companies. One has my info listed totally incorrectly and the other says I owe a balance...WHAT? So then I call thinking im going to get clarity, and I got a very disgruntled reception from Mary who happens to be the owner from my understanding. She continuously interrupted me and the break in communication could not have been worse. I told her to email me the alternative facts she was relaying trying to explain this ludacris situation and then she says she needs to contact the insurance company first, which solidifies that she did not know what she was talking about over the phone in the first place. I am canceling my service and contacting the Better Business Bureau as soon as possible. I never have experienced unprofessional behavior to this degree. Please do not do business with them, as I would hate for someone to have to go through what I am having to go through because of their mistakes...... read more

The only reason I'm giving a star is because that's the only way I can write about my experience. I called and tried to talk to the owner about a dispute I had with the charges that were hidden from me. He didn't let me get a word in which led to me yelling just so I could talk over him. Basically I told him that either the dealership or the insurance agency were dishonest on charges for the policy and fees. I explained how I would be able to prove they were dishonest and he just kept lying to me and told me there's nothing I can do about because I signed a contract. I have retinopathy and unless I have magnified classes text is distorted. The gentleman who helped me at the dealership had to read it to me while I signed it because I couldn't. The gentleman who helped me actually worked at the dealership and was on the phone with the owner when he was helping me so I'm not sure if he intended on leaving out the extra charges and what they were for because when I asked why the price was so high and he told me it was for the insurance down payment and first month. Later when I called to cancel the insurance is when I found out they only got $140 out of the $490 I paid. So you can see why I'm upset. I expected the owner to listen, explain, and provide good customer service but he was really rude and kept lying. Pretty much told me he needs to pay the bills and that I'm not getting any money back. Then he kept bringing up my business on Yelp and what I would do in this situation and I said that when I have an unhappy client I do everything to make it right even if it means loosing money. That's customer service. After I got off the phone I went to my Yelp page and noticed there was a fake Yelp review slandering me and the IP address is from Carlsbad so I'm pretty sure it was them or someone who works for them being that I haven't had any clients this week. If you're trying to find a honest and an agency with great customer service I would recommend going somewhere else. Very disappointing. This insurance brokerage company is terrible! When I bought my new car at a dealership in San Diego, I had to also purchase car insurance. The dealership provided an insurance broker, Charlotte with NCPA Insurance Services, who gave me several very expensive quotes and stated they were the cheapest rates I could get. She said the first month's payment included a deposit to the insurance company as well as the first payment. The total was over $500. Since this was so expensive, I asked if I could cancel the policy if I was able to find a cheaper rate myself. She said yes, and I inquired about how much I would be refunded at which time she said they would simply prorate the number of days that were not used on the policy. This made me feel comfortable. However, when I left the dealership, she withheld the signed documents to initiate the insurance. That night I was able to find cheaper insurance and emailed her to cancel the policy. When I called the next morning to finalize the cancellation, I could not get a hold of anyone until 1:30pm. I kept being told I would be called back. When I was finally called back, I was told I would only be refunded $200. I then asked for my original documents, and once received, I found terms added that I did not agree to. In one of the documents, she added after the fact a $300 non-refundable brokerage fee that I never agreed to. I'll never go through this company again for my insurance. I returned from deployment and had to renew my policy through this broker. They sent me an insurance card that said I was insured for a full year, but when I tried to make a claim, they told me that I was not insured because I had not made payments even though I always pay in full. Turns out my policy was only for 6 months and I paid $850, when in previous years, I paid $1060 for the full year. So the insurance company had canceled my policy. Mary Ann was extremely rude when I tried to follow up on the situation. After I sent a photo of the card, she said that the insurance card didn't come from their office (I still have the postmarked envelope and handwritten card) and treated me like I was stupid for having to explain to me so many times that I wasn't insured. I feel that they should have done something to correct their mistake, but they refused to take any responsibility and just looked to cover themselves. read more

The rep took the time to explain the billing to me which was confusing. They even stayed open past their regular hours to help me which I thought was very nice. I know I can call anytime for assistance and am never put on hold. I read some of the negative reviews on here and was astounded as my experience with this agency has always been stellar. Worst customer service ever they are complete fraud okay so I first came into counter with this place when y husband bought a vehicle and they told him that they would get him insurance I said no that we are already covered with State farm and that we will not need the assistance. So the man said im so sorry I already charged the card and said he was going to do a refund for the card. I said okay I want the money the next day that's not right. So the next day I call and the lady was rude and gave me problems I talked to my bank and they filed a claim, I thought that it would be over that I would never have to hear from them again then I look at my statements and it says that 200 dollars was taken out of the account from the same insurance company. I called the company again and they called me a liar and refused to refund the money back to me, I told them what happened and the lady told me to bang my head into the wall because she aint giving me any money.
