Came to visit my family in nearby Raleigh and my cousins decided to take us out. I live near the Battery in Atlanta where the braves play and they mentioned a similar concept was in nearby Cary, NC. Once I found out they had rooftops and sport and social, I was all in and excited to hangout with my cousins. The bartenders and host were great and the rooftop was spacious yet not too crowded. As a stand alone, the rooftop bar lacks menu options and good drinks. Service is friendly and the bar is slow. Mixed drinks seemed lacking of flavor for their price point. As my last stop before heading home, I decided to check out Ava. The location is extremely convenient for me. There is plenty of parking here that's effortless. Ava is only accessible through Sports & Social and it's on the third floor. Once off the elevator, there was a hostess to my left. The hostess immediately acknowledged all who entered and exited. I love what they're doing here at Ava. Not the best view. I think the apartments shouldn't be my view when looking around. Besides that, Ava is nice and clean. There wasn't a struggle to get the bartender's attention. I had a Gin Martini for $24. I thought the price was a bit higher than what I'm used to. Since I'm not a heavy drinker the price was doable. I also found that there were mostly professional adults in this space if this helps. I do recommend this as a decent nightcap or end-of-week relaxing space to call it a night before heading home. Definitely a vibe! This spot is 100% geared towards adults who want a more lively night out, they don't even let children in. Which, even though I have a young child, it is kind of refreshing and I'm here for it. It is a great spot to grab a drink when the weather is nice, but it does get loud. So not ideal if you are really trying to have a convo. We kept having to hunt our server down and had to wait an incredibly long time to order any food or get another drink. The food options are limited so this is more of a spot to grab a drink and app before you head out. Could have just been an off night service wise. This place is a bit tricky to find. You literally walk through the downstairs restaurant, Sports and Social, to the back deck of elevators and head to the roof. Parking is easy at Fenton though, always plenty of spots to be had. read more

My friend group and I attended Ava's winter wonderland themed event Saturday November 16th and the service and food was abysmal. Our server, a young man who I believe was named Drew, made his job our problem the whole night. He reminded us constantly throughout the meal while we waited 15-20 minutes wait times for food and drink that he had been "quadruple sat" and how busy the bar was yet to my eyes the place was empty. I had a friend at the table with a gluten allergy who had questions about the menu and Drew seemed to know nothing our friend could eat and didn't offer to educate himself and find out. He seemed uneducated about the menu entirely from drinks to food. Our drinks looked as though they had been sitting out on someone else's dirty table, ice melted and watered down. Drew hovered over us as we paid out and made it very uncomfortable to tip. In the end an order of cold meatballs, a watered down old fashioned and subpar service came to almost $55. The food was cold and had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for a while by the time we got it. Either new staff needs to be hired on or the staff you have needs better training. read more

This spot is incredible! A couple friends and I stopped by on a Sunday for some mimosas and they were incredible! It is a little warm in the sun, so I definitely recommend going when the weather is cooler. The ambiance is adorable and the service was spectacular! We got mimosa flights and each one was delicious. First time visiting this new rooftop bar to the Cary area. And the ambiance is very cool and trendy would be awesome for a date night or a spot to hangout after work. The only downside for me is there is not any type of overhead covering, luckily the DJ did have an awning over him. So if you're looking to try this on an NC summer day I would say wait until the sun go down or prepare to wait until a seat at the bar is free. I didn't try the food so that's why I gave it 3 stars. I attended as part of an offline event. One of waitstaff took my ice without asking was it empty and that was a bit off putting. It seemed aside from WONDERFUL bartenders and wait staff one seemed disinterested in communicating which may just be nerves but wasn't exactly inviting. I only got to taste the shrimp despite multiple other apps flowing around. The shrimp was fresh and good. The appetizer table had pita crackers, cauliflower tabouli, veggies, hummus, baba ganoush, whipped labneh and mezeh. I tasted all except the tabouli as I knew I didn't like that. The whipped labneh tasted like a whipped cream cheese hummus. It was sooo yummy and the other dips were very enjoyable. The alcohol seemed watered down in the comp'd drinks versus ordered drinks. I would love to come back and try more dishes and drinks again. Very grammable, TikTok, social media pictures friendly. Love the rooftop vibe and the pretty lights. I will say the turf may be a bit unbalanced in some spots. Overall a very enjoyable experience and will be happy to come back to the lovely Fenton and here again as it's more of a grown and chill version of downtown Raleigh. Where do I start? SUCH a full vibe with the igloos. They provided blankets a we dressed warmly and it was perfect! The holiday cocktails are very well done and they set the tone for the evening. Tried to make reservations online but was told no reservations before 9. When we arrived at 6:30 we were promptly seated by the hostess. Waitress comes over and tells us that first there are only two bartenders so it'll be awhile before we can get any drinks and that we will need to be finished and "gone" by 8?? Asked why is that and we were told because they have a private event in the space at 8:30 and they do not want to clean this area. If we wanted to eat we had to go to the other side of the restaurant, which we were fine with. She then returns and said that the three tables there are all reserved, how are they reserved when you don't take reservations. Poor communication at this place, we ended up leaving and finding another restaurant in the area. Had high hopes but won't be returning here. read more

I had high expectations based on how much it was hyped up. It is a beautiful space & very instagramable. I had the margarita and really enjoyed it, but that was the highlight of my visit. I went with three girlfriends on a Thursday night. There was a yoga class happening on one side & it was distracting to say the least. Between that & the loud music we were barely able to have conversations. We ordered the mezze platter and the dips. The mezze platter took over an hour to be brought out to us & the dips never came. We would order our next drink when one was delivered because it took awhile to get them. We decided to get a bottle of Rose and we're given a lukewarm bottle, twice. Our waitress was nice, but it was clear she was pulled thin. I think there were only 2 waitresses for the whole roof. I'm hoping these issues are just an opening week thing while they get their footing. Between the four of us we spent over $225 & it was not worth it. read more
