Every animal I've adopted here (3 now) has either had wringworm, fleas, or both. I was charged with a $50 fee that is non refundable and now they're trying to offer me a $20 credit for an animal infested with fleas. Why on Earth would I want to adopt another animal from this facility given the gross negligence? What respectable animal shelter doesn't confirm/test for these kinds of issues prior to putting an animal up for adoption? I'd also like to add that the front desk staff (the welcome desk, not the folks in the back - they are very friendly) are incredibly rude. Consistently every time I've come in here, the social skills and public service has been horrific. I will no longer be adopting pets from this facility. They set the animals up for failure. read more

Recently I went to adopt a dog after my mother's passing. I had looked on their website at the dogs that they currently had, and found a few that seemed like they might be a good fit. I was only looking at dogs that said "good with other dogs" and had no mentions of needing to meet resident dogs, as I live in an apartment complex with many other dogs, and knew I needed a dog that could walk past them in the hallway without putting anyone in an unsafe situation. When I got to the shelter, I immediately found one of the dogs that I had seen online, and wanted to meet her. On her "report card" on the kennel, it stated "good with other dogs". When I met her, I was told about a medical issue that she had, but it was something that was taken care of. I also asked if she had any other medical issues, specifically allergies because of her color, and the staff said that there were no mentions on her paperwork of allergies. I loved the dog, and made plans to come back the next morning to adopt her. When I returned the next day, I talked with the staff about wanting to see her and adopt her that day. The staff asked if I would still like to hear about her since I heard about her the day before, and I said yes just to hear it all again. The staff member I spoke to started telling me about how she had very severe allergies and skin issues when she arrived. They didn't know anything about the medical issue I was originally told about, and it took them about 5 minutes to find it in her paperwork (the medical issue she had involved an intense surgery, so I was surprised that information was so hidden). When they found the paperwork, I was also told she had GDV when she first arrived as well. I was surprised on how much wasn't told to me the day prior, but I was still happy to move forward with the adoption. We brought her to the meet room and started working through getting her ready to go. That is when I was told she had "barked at another dog" while on a walk with a volunteer. I asked what that looked like, and if she had lunged or just barked, and the staff member told me that on her paperwork, it stated that she just barked, and did not lunged or move towards the other dog. I was now a little confused, but since the staff member told me that she had just barked, I assumed that it was a typical dog "hello". As we were leaving the meet room to go get her paperwork done and take her home, we walked up to the front where another dog was at the counter. When the staff member saw the other dog, they tried to steer us away from them. Knowing that she barks at other dogs, I wanted to see what that looked like. When she saw the other dog, she started to bare teeth, low bark and low growl at the other dog, as well as jumping and lunging towards them. That is when I realized that this would not be a good fit. I attempted to hand her back to the staff member, who tried to convince me to continue to go through with the adoption, until she finally took her back. I felt awful, and assumed that the reason I was told she was good with other dogs, and did not lunge at other dogs is because the shelter did not know (because again, the staff member I spoke to specifically told me there was nothing on her paperwork to indicate that she lunged at other dogs). I went up to the counter to let them know about our interaction, and was told that their "report cards" are not accurate and are not meant to be accurate, and that her paperwork DOES say that she lunges at other dogs. I have been keeping tabs on the dogs listing to see if it ever got changed, and after 3 weeks it now says "must meet resident dogs in the home" and "selective with other dogs". I am hoping that it didn't take an adoption failure to add that to her profile. Please be cautious adopting from them, as I was told specifically that they do not keep the dogs information accurate, and will tell you things that are untrue about the dog in order to get them into a home. read more

The NHS offers amazing training classes for all dogs at all levels. We are currently doing the training for K9 good citizen certification, the class was a fair price and the teachers are amazing with the dogs, so knowledgeable and friendly! We also recently adopted a dog, the process was easy, the adoption counselors were easy to talk to and took the right steps for the introduction of our resident dogs and the new one. We received a collar and leash, food, all vet records, and information for any problems with behaviors or heath. I want to add that the shelter does a good job of providing enrichment and support for the animals. They make sure to have as many dogs and cats in the individual, quiet kennels as possible, which really helps them relax. The NHS is also a partner with Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, a sanctuary located in Kanab, UT and whose main goal is to help the USA become NO kill. This is HUGE for Omaha!! read more

We were told when we got our first dog from them, she didn't like men or cats. They were completely wrong. The employees there do not apparently understand animals. Instead of coming here, I'd highly recommend going to the Humane Pet Services LLC. in Council Bluffs. Instead of waiting an hour to see a dog at this place, HPS welcomes you right in and doesn't make you fill out papers before being able to see the dogs like this place does. I came to get a small/medium size dog and was asking to see one from online. They had posted a puppy picture of her where she looked like the perfect size, but after filling out papers and waiting, realized she was way bigger in person and would be too big compared to our dog. The staff was alright but I can see how people get really discouraged from adopting when they can't see everyone. The adoption price is also extremely high for a place that is way too full and also a kill shelter. I found my forever dog at Humane Pet Services and recommended that place 100 times over the Humane Society. read more

Great place to rescue instead of buy a pet. They have a decent process and seem to really care. Come prepared for some bureaucracy as it is staffed largely by volunteers and good intentioned people, but very little flexibility or authority to expedite the process. Also there can be long waits to be attended to based on volume and the usual shelter filled with pitbull mixes to avoid. read more

The customer service is hit or miss. While there were several volunteers and a couple staff that were kind and informative, I can't say that for all of the staff. Also, we were told conflicting information multiple times. Our overall experience wasn't great. I'd have to say that the facility needs to improve on tactics, techniques and procedures. Everytime I adopt a cat from here they are sick and have health issues. My cat I just adopted has heart issues ? How did they miss that ? Still infested with fleas.... And as soon as they get spayed or neutered they are ready for adoption. No signs to say to be gentle. I have so much more to say but not enough space. It is unfortunate that there are so many negative reviews here. I can only say that we adopted a beautiful, loving cat here, and it was a perfectly fine experience doing so. The staff has also been quite helpful on the few occasions that I called them for help regarding strays, or the orphaned baby birds that seem to appear in my yard every year. The building itself is clean, well-kept, and I noticed that they now have an off-duty police officer on site as well. I will say that the building itself is laid out in a somewhat confusing fashion, and if you're not careful you might end up missing an entire wing full of adoptable pets. Finally, they are very badly understaffed. Overall, I'd go here again. read more

Very large inside, and very clean. Well functioning for walking through, and has smaller and more peaceful rooms for more one on one interactions. Their website is usually fairly up to date, and your application will last for 30 days so you can apply for multiple animals if you do not get the one you want. Prices are usually fair, and they have continuous new animals coming in. Plan your visit, and check their hours before you go. read more

To their credit, NHS does everything they can to take care of the animals that didn't succeed in their previous environment. Ours was one such dog. We had gotten a dog from NHS and she simply was not a good fit for our family -- too aggressive for children and needed lots of open space to romp around in and burn up energy. We tried very hard to keep her, but despite training classes it became clear that we could no longer care properly for her. The return process lacked clarity and direction. The phone that had been in the animal intake room has been ripped out so once you are there, what do you do if you have an aggressive dog and can't just walk in? When I called on my cell phone from that entrance room I was transferred to voicemail. Not appropriate. To top it all off, it cost $160 to pay for ten days of quarantine. This was not mentioned anywhere beforehand. I know that NHS has a difficult mandate and I don't envy them, but their intake procedures can be improved. read more

I was told the wait was 45 minutes and that I was 2nd in line, 90 minutes later I asked and was informed they never added my name to the line- finally after 2.5 hours they call me and tell me if I don't pay them for an additional dog housing permit since I already own chihuahuas currently , they wont even let me even see the dog I waited three hours to meet & save. This place is run worse than any business I have ever seen and their staff deserves to be promoted to unemployed because they are absolutely worthless. One day I get a text message from my sister telling me how my nephew wants to rescue all of the cats and dogs, especially the black cats, from the Humane Society. My family has been fortunate to have this generous and loving heart towards animals for years so this didn't surprise me. BUT, when we talked about the details of me possibly adopting a cat I knew there would be a way to at least rescue one cat. My boyfriend and I went for a visit to the Humane Society and met with the cat I felt sure about bringing home. However, in talking with Cat staff and what he was previously exposed to before arriving at the Humane Society, I had to make a difficult decision to meet a different cat. I knew in my heart that I would need a cat that would be okay with other animals, more animals in the future would be a certainty. We were taken downstairs and the first cat that we met they called Cupid. She was a black cat with a white chest and paws, long fur and whiskers and the sweetest loving kitty. She came right to us ready for pets and cuddles. We learned that she was a stray and they told us she was about 3 years old based on her teeth. I didn't need to see any other cats after her. She was the one for me. I had always adored black cats with white paws and had an idea that I'd want a girl. I have a feeling she was always meant to be mine. The adoption process was pretty smooth and I was able to take her home with no issues. She's since gotten comfortable and loves cuddles and sitting on my lap. We fell in love with a few other cats and dogs that day, and hope they find homes too. I know at some point we will be back when we have a bigger space and will bring home another pet we will love just as much as the ones we love now. read more

We went to introduce our children and our dog (8 year old yellow lab) to the potential adoption dog (1-2 year old yellow lab) today. Behavioral specialist decided it was a good idea for the meeting to be outside in the 117 heat index weather, instead of a play area inside. My dog was picking up his feet in a funny way and laying down on the sidewalk every few seconds because his paws were obviously bothered by the hot cement. For the first 30 seconds the dogs had 2 interactions maybe 5-10 seconds long each where they were growling, snarling and barking at each other while in each other's faces. Following this each dog took a potty break and then a little butt sniff happened. After that they were just walking around in the same area but not approaching each other. They were also not aggressive or growling at each other anymore. This whole interaction lasted maybe 5 minutes max and the "Behavior Specialist" said, "Yeah I don't think is gonna work out. They're just ignoring each other." Lol. Sorry these dogs were forced to meet in a heat advisory outdoors, where they spent 20 seconds max growling and jumping at each other followed by 4.5 minutes of "ignoring" each other. What did you want to happen? Lmao! Our dog stays with a couple of friends and their dogs when we vacation and when introduced to them, they did a little sniff and "ignored" each other following the initial interaction. Our friends always send us pics of the dogs laying side by side when we are on vacation. This "specialist's" effort was non-existent and and reasoning was suspect at best! Never going back there again. On top of this my wife was waiting with my 2 young kids and our dog for at least an hour for this 5 minute interaction to occur. It didn't occur the day prior because the "specialist" wasn't working. read more

After much deliberation with one of the on staff veterinarians and the business director, I can say that they truly do care about the welfare of the animals AND the parents adopting the animals. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon, looking for the right dog to consider for an adoption. The lobby is fairly clean, knowing lots of people and animals came through this area during several hours of being open. This Humane society is much bigger than other city facilities. Double story, multi area sections are well marked with the city license department being one of the segregated areas. Masks were required for entrance and to view all potential pets. I was pleasantly surprised at the operation and organization of this facility. read more

Not the Humane Society I remember and don't blame Covid. You are way understaffed. If you cant do what you say then do not charge. I just wonder why when you get so much in donations, really needs to be explored or something. Nothing but automation, its hard to excuse even though I think the world of the cause, I just know this org gets so much in donations and help from the community and yet for a very long time there is just hardly a soul ever available. Maybe new management is needed, it seems much worse than it used to be. You want the public to be on time but dont hold yourself to any standards, well thats aggravating. Not to mention your process is not smooth at all and potential pet parents are walking away. I could say more about a recent experience but I won't for the sake of the dog. read more

They said the cat I was adopting was declawed and perfectly healthy but for some bad teeth. He's not declawed (no big deal). NHS refuses to test for communicable disease in felines FIV/FeLV, probably because they don't want to foot the bill. Took him to the vet to get the teeth handled and get him tested-- he has a heart murmur and stomach cancer. Did anyone actually check this guy out? He has his claws and murmurs are pretty easy to notice if you listen. As for the cancer, the inability to eat without immediately vomiting should have set off some sort of alarm but I guess they didn't care to notice. Starting to doubt their vet on staff actually looks at the majority of animals. read more

Aside for the long wait to see the puppy you are looking for, every time was a positive experience. I guess it is worth it to see the fur baby and see whether he is a good match. Came here twice, first time we waited about 30 minutes and a staff came to interview us. Basic questions to see which type of puppies would be suitable for our house. We originally wanted a Border collie, but he is active and we don't have fences, so we could not adopt him. He is a good boy so I am sure he has found his forever home. Second time is when we brought our baby home. The Humane society thinks he is a Poodle but he is Havanese at last. Sad story about his past. We came to see him in the doggies room, he was very warming and friendly. We love him right away and believe he would be a great addition! And he is Thanks to all the staffs and human society organization in general. Without you guys, I can't believe of what would happen to all animals. Please be aware there are several local rescues you can adopt through outside of NHS! Our recent foster to adopt (dog) experience through them was a nightmare. I'm grateful for the newest member of our family but disgusted with this "humane" society. They were not transparent about health issues, did not have him up to date on his shots and then wouldn't give them to him when I came back at the time they told me to. Took several weeks and calls to get his medical records to our vet, and we found out there were more shots + tests they failed to render before adoption when they were finally sent over. The lack of accountability was truly astounding and the whole experience doesn't leave me shocked they're allegedly experiencing a mass exodus of vets and vet techs. If you're expecting to adopt for a flat fee and get a dog that was well cared for while in their custody, I'd suggest going elsewhere. If this is the public facing behavior they're choosing, I can only imagine what goes on behind closed doors. It breaks my heart to think of neglected dogs ending up @ NHS only to be further neglected and the burden they're knowingly placing on well intentioned adopters. While their puppy cart videos are adorable, the actions I've seen first hand from them are v far from it. Two paws down. read more

I will say when we went there the facility was clean. When we walked in, there was an extreme amount of donations in bins right by the doors. We were there on November 29th 2023 so that maybe why the bins were overflowing with donations. First off, no one greeted us as we walked in, no one asked if we needed help. We were left to wonder around. We went upstairs to look at cats and not seeing any cats that would fit into our clowder, we made our way back downstairs. We were about to leave when my husband saw another area that had cats. At this point we had been there for over 30 mins and still no interaction with anyone that worked there. We went into the area and a cat caught our eye. Thankfully there was an employee in the room so we asked if we could see the cat we were interested in. They seemed pissed that we asked them for help. It was like we were bothering them because we were interested in adopting a cat. They had to get another employee to help us but we finally got to meet the cat. We meet the cat, fell in love with her and said that want to adopt her. They told us she was 5 years old and she came in as a stray and possibly had a litter of kittens recently and besides being underweight she was healthy. We adopted her, took her home and within a week she was seen by my vet. My vet which is AAHA accredited said there is no way she is 5, she's maybe 2-3 years old. Also she has a heart murmur. There was no mention of a heart murmur in her profile. We had to take her to a cardiologist which cost well over $500.00 dollars. I called NHS and told them about the heart murmur and the vet there was supposed to call me back but guess what, still no call back from them. I'm sorry but my vet heard the heart murmur as soon as she listened to her chest with the stethoscope. How they missed that is beyond me. If you adopt from here, don't expect friendly service or a healthy animal because the vets they have working there must have gotten their license from a crackerjack box. At least we got our little girl and she is now healthy and at a healthy weight but it cost us almost a $1000.00 dollars to get her healthy. I will never go to them again and I pray none of my fuzzy butts get out and then get brought there because to me that place is h e double hockey sticks! read more

So our adoption appointment finally came up about two weeks after our application went in. The night before, I picked the two dogs I wanted to see. Picking any sooner is likely to be an exercise in frustration. In fact, as things worked out, I didn't get to see the dogs I'd planned on anyway. The first one was too afraid to come out of his kennel (growling) and the adoption coordinator decided she wouldn't be good with kids after all (thank you for the honesty). The second was a bit of a holiday miracle. His family scrapped up the money to readopt him a half hour before we came. Thank goodness! How sad if we had taken him right before they got there. Tragedy averted. Next we saw a year old Boxer (technically still a puppy). Younger and more work then we were looking for, but she stole the kids hearts. So obedience classes and tons of chew toys and exercise are my future. Wish us luck! read more

The Yappy Pack fundraising group hosts a weekly playgroup every Saturday morning from 9:30 - 11:30am in the large fenced area near Bone Jour dog daycare. It's $5 per dog or cards can be purchased for $40 for 11 punches (one free!). All proceeds go to the NHS. Dogs need to be vaccinated including bordetella and they may ask for proof your first visit. I've been bringing my girls for several months now and they love it! As an added bonus, they are so worn out from playing with other dogs, they sleep all afternoon those days. :-) I've met several wonderful folks and it's nice to socialize for people, too. We came here several times throughout the year before we decided to go home with our new furry friend. We came in on a Tuesday evening and waited for about an hour for our appointment. The wait went by really quickly for us though because we were looking around at all the different animals--they not only carry dogs and cats, but also gerbils, reptiles, and other small pets. Our adoption counselor (I wish I remembered her name!) was SO helpful with matching us with the perfect kitten. Even though the kitten just came in that day, she was already aware of its temperament, along with the dozens of other kittens. The great thing about adopting from NHS is that they neuter/spay all of their animals and implant microchips. It's not guaranteed, but they do their best to make sure their animals are in good condition to adopt. This alone is a HUGE time and cost saver. They currently have an adoption special--2 kittens for $50, adult cats free. When we were ready to leave, they provided us with a cardboard pet carrier (which our kitty still prefers over a new bed btw) with a small blanket that they sprayed with pheromone spray. They also gave us a bag of the kitten food she's been eating. Maybe we were lucky with our fantastic experience, but I honestly believe they are doing the best they can and have a good system for people looking to adopt. The crazy wait times are probably because they are short staffed (non profit, go figure) and the amount of care the counselors put into the adoption. All the more reason to volunteer :). Overall, I'm so happy to have been able to adopt from NHS and recommend checking them out! read more

I arrived this afternoon looking for three lost cats. I overheard a conversation between a pet owner the staff and a veterinarian. Apparently, the owners cat had been put down in less than the minimum required hold end time for cats. The Veterinarian had made a "Tatian's quality of life" Tatian's decision regarding the cat. It sounded like they had violated all guidelines regarding hold end times and assessment for cats. The owner was distraught that his cat Had been put down in less than 24 hours! The cat came in with a collar, and the veterinarian said that there had been no collar on the cat that she euthanized. There is something wrong when a cat with a collar shows up to the vet, and the vet decides if there's no owner because there is no collar, and decide to go ahead and put the cat to sleep! read more

I despise Nebraska Humane Society. While I technically have until March 31 before my dog's licenses expire, this greedy, corporate, money-making machine only allows renewal through the 15th before slapping on late fees--fees that are the same amount as the actual license fee! Sorry, they knock off 1.50. So because I missed this mid-month deadline by one day, instead of $55 for two dogs, I am now paying $111. I have no problem with them assessing a late fee, but the fact that it DOUBLES my entire bill is what makes them such jerks. And they already tack on a $5 processing fee, so the additional $26/pet is just to be spiteful. THIS is why people surrender their pets so often in Omaha, because they cannot always pay the outrageous fines assessed by this "non-profit" organization. I've actually witnessed a devastated family being forced to surrender a beloved pet because they couldn't manage the overwhelming fees arbitrarily established by this overreaching company. It is solely in the business of making a profit. The fact that they might adopt animals out periodically is just a happy accident. Every interaction I've had with NE Humane has been terrible, whether it be identifying my cat when she was killed, taking a deceased dog to them, claiming my dog when he decides to wander (despite fenced yard, microchip, Airtagged collar), or attempting to adopt through them. They are expensive, difficult to deal with, and have some sort of stranglehold over the city that allows them carte blanche with regard to animal laws. There is no way that a city department should be in bed with a nonprofit rescue, as is the case in Omaha. They can do whatever they want with little to no oversight. read more

They neglected to tell us our dog had 8 or more rotting teeth when we adopted her 2/3 months ago. She had a tooth extraction, and they said she'd be able to eat dry food in a week from our adoption date. She never got around to eating it, we tried several different kinds. Come to find out now, it wasn't that she never healed from her surgery. It was that they only addressed 3 of her several rotted teeth. I suppose I should've checked her mouth, but I didn't want to make the old girl uncomfortable as she isn't the biggest fan of people checking it. But one day, when she was panting. Her problems became obvious. Now we know months too late after her teeth have gotten this bad and have to pay hundreds in tooth extractions. Would NOT recommend. read more

The adoption agent we worked with was over the top annoying and did not know what she was talking about. We talked through some cats, and I decided on one specific "female". She scanned it's microchip which brings up the information of the animal (name, sex, age, etc.) and told me it was a two year old female who had recently been spayed. She wouldn't let us pick up any of the cats in the room because they had all just been spayed, then proceeded to pick up the cats herself. It took her an eternity to go over the adoption papers because she was getting distracted by the cats. She reiterated that the cat had just been spayed and I should pay attention to the incision site. Went to check out and it turns out that my newly spayed female was actually a male who was neutered over a year ago. The desk agent scanned the microchip multiple times to verify, and I had to go into a separate room to determine the sex myself (front desk agent didn't know how to). Sure enough, it was a male cat who had zero fresh incisions and wasn't even shaved like he had an operation. I got the sweetest cat, but the whole process was frustrating, and the adoption agent knew nothing. I will not be going back there in the future. read more

All the animals at NHS are treated with the utmost care and compassion. An army of volunteers keeps this place running at peak efficiency doing jobs like walking dogs, helping with adoptions, taking care of the cat rooms, etc. Adoption counselors will really ensure that you're capable and ready before they send a pet home with you. All the volunteers and staff here are animal lovers and want what's best for them above all else. On the 'no kill' thing, the new shelter has enough space that they haven't had to put a dog down for a very long time. Cats are a different story... since there are so many cats... they really try to avoid euthanizing animals needlessly though so if you're looking to adopt a cat, why not consider two? Typically they'll have specials on cats for that reason. And we all know that two cats are better than one. read more

I have adopted from the humane society in the past and it has always been a good experience. Last time I adopted a dog however I went through someone else because the humane society had such a long wait and I had to be back at work within 2 hours. I asked my mom to meet with the puppy I wanted to just to see it's temperament and then bring it home for me, but the humane society wouldn't let us do that. They wanted me there, which I do understand, but they were slightly rude about telling me I couldn't adopt the dog anymore if I had to go back to work. I was pretty bummed out but I'm glad it happened that way or I wouldn't have the wonderful dog I do now. On Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings the humane society hosts yappy time stay and play canine play group in their pasture and I often go to those play groups, I believe they also have a few other play groups that the humane society sets up as well. The play group we go to is awesome and my dog always enjoys herself in a safe environment, and I don't have to worry about her like I would in a public dog park. read more

Recently adopted a puppy from NHS. First I'd like to say that I have an 8 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He's getting a little older and my mother in law lived with us for awhile and she had a mastiff. When she moved out and the mastiff left with her, our big guy got a little lonely. So a puppy is what we decided to do. We originally went to NHS looking for a small dog *under 20lbs*. We found one puppy that was very cute, but we wanted to make sure he would do well with our current dog. So we asked if we could bring our dog back for them to meet the next day. NHS charges a non-refundable $20 to "hold" an animal. Ridiculous. We opted to not do the hold and take our chances. The puppy was still there the next day. A Chihuahua mix that was aggressive towards children and did not like fireworks. That I did not find out until the next day when we came back anyway. Glad I didn't put the puppy on a hold. I have three children and I'm a professional pyro technician. This wouldn't work. They did however have a very, very cute lab mix and another lab mix that looked identical to our current dog. The adoption counselor ticked me off at this point. She was concerned about the stress on "my dog" as far as visiting new animals. My dog has been in training classes with up to 20 other dogs at the same time. Please don't presume to tell me that my dog will be stressed in a 1-on-1 situation with three puppies in one day. Additionally, the puppy we settled on was "aggressive towards children as far as nipping" and the counselor literally told us he was "un-trainable". He was 14 weeks old. Nipping is NORMAL for a puppy that age...they don't have HANDS. She quite literally was clueless when it came to dogs. Not sure if she was normally a cat counselor or what. But moronic comes to mind. She almost didn't let us adopt the puppy. We did anyway. "Leo" is now 20 weeks old. He's trained to sit, wait, shake, roll over, army crawl and dance. He's still working on being housebroken. But I think this throws her entire "un-trainable" argument out the window. He also stopped nipping after roughly 2 weeks. Ultimately, I think NHS tries to play "God" too much with these animals. I think they keep good owners from animals (or try to) because they believe they know what they're doing. I think they also are holier than thou and think no one else could possibly know anything about animals. This place is great for adopting cats and dogs, staff is friendly and open to letting you play with most of the animals up for adoption. They get a daily influx of cats and dogs, and also have some gerbils, mice, birds and turtles for those into something a little different. Just make sure if it's a kitten that you're looking for that you come early and get it that same day if possible because the little ones go quick! Definitely worth coming to check this place out, can't think of anything that would deem this place less than 5 stars!! read more

2nd response: Well, I am extremely grateful for the VP in public relations and marketing, Pam Wiese, who contacted me the same day of my dispute and gave me some relief. She physically talked to the people in the building who screwed up my adoption and got down to the bottom of it. I am happy that I have less anger and was appreciated right away! Along with a little more relief for the society itself to move on in a better direction! 1st response: Wish I could put 0 stars...... Completely DO NOT recommend going to this specific spot. The STAFF is completely unsympathetic and will not treat you with respect! (If only these places could be run by PROFESSIONALS or even animals at this point) I myself have had SEVERAL TERRIBLE experiences trying to adopt. I found a kitten and wanted to keep it. Thinking the humane society would be a great place to get him all fixed up- I brought him in and which he had to be quarantined for 10 days. The lady asks if I want to keep him afterwards and I say YES. I called after 10 days and he his now in surgery for a neuter and needs a day to heal. AT THIS POINT, I was told I would get a call back when he was healed. NEVER GOT A CALL. So I called and guess what... THEY LET SOMEONE ADOPT MY kitten. read more
