While we waited for class to start other trainers came over to greet us and give us ideas on how to calm our nervous puppy. The classes so far have been good. They are much better and useful than classes we have attended with our other dogs at the chain stores and humane society. The cost was very reasonable. Classes seem to fill fast because they do a good job teaching and leading. I would recommend it to other dog owners looking for obedience classes

They gave us as much time as we needed with him before and after. They even told us several times that we could leave after and pay later or when we pick up the cremation. He does, however, get anxious around lots of other dogs and unfamiliar environments. If I am near him, he can manage the vet's office. However, if he is taken away from me, it exacerbates his anxiety. When I contacted the clinic via text message for spring appointments, they sent me a brusque reply stating they thought a mobile vet would be best. When I asked about an appointment for the 2-year-old, they said they felt it would be best if they didn't see him anymore either. No reason was given for not wanting to maintain the client/patient relationship. Very poor communication from any business. This clinic claims to be a "Fear Free Certified Clinic." If that is the case, their One-Size-Fits-All approach to in clinic visits clearly does not demonstrate a "fear free" environment. Taking a pet away from their owner to a back room for an exam just exacerbates an already stressful situation for a high-anxiety pet. It does not take an expert to figure this out. When the pets' audible crying when being led down the hallway should be red flag #1. This model would certainly not work when taking a child to a pediatrician. A case-by-case basis would be more fitting in any client/patient environment. I try to keep an open mind understanding that life is full of vicissitude. You can imagine I feel astonished. Even through the text message you could feel the dogmatic attitude. I couldn't believe the place that you are supposed to go to get our animals taken care of is sending us packing and for what? I began wondering what kind of things I had missed. I thought they loved Jasper as he'd gone here for years. If they felt this way the whole time, did they not give him a full chance? Did they neglect his needs just to tell us to leave? God forbid, what if he had to stay overnight? I felt/feel anxious at this point myself. I just don't understand how a medical professional who takes an oath of care can just turn someone away for no reason. If their reason is his anxiety, isn't that their job to treat him if his anxiety was at a level that he needs to be isolated? Nevertheless, I will no longer recommend this clinic to others because of the quasi environment. I was astounded that I wasn't charged a ransom fee to obtain their records.
