Not only did we wait forever to finally get help but then the guy who showed up refused to sell an ember tetra for a mini tank then WALKED off. Literally not another word. Stood there speechless. We've had 7+ tanks, and a 200+ gallon salt tank FOR YEARS and you tell me you can't sell me a tetra and you have multiple blue hippo gangs in the same 20gal tank. Never returning here. read more

This location has been open for some time now . Close enough to where I live to make it a frequent stop for aquarium products. Store has very recently been remodeled so it's clean and more modern then other locations . Items tend to be more pricy if you just walk in the store but I found out that if you order online for pick up they sometimes give a slight discount. Also if they have online only prices and u do store pickup u can get them for that price . The fish aquariums are fairy scarce right now but more then likely because of the remodel . read more

My husky is a handful. Sometimes reactive and always talkative. Petco Grooming helps get rid of the unending fluffs of hair, trims her claws back and every time I pick her up she is happy and smells great. Thanks So Much!! I'm of big fan of your groomers! All of the ladies are professional, polite, friendly, and so sweet to my 13yr. old chihuahua, Emi. I have Emi's nails cut and filed every month or so. My most recent groomer, Rebecca, was especially sweet with her. I was impressed that Rebecca mentioned that she could also clean Emi's teeth! I didn't even know that was a service that you offered. My husband and I were checking out at Petco today on 120th and L. At the checkout there are windows that you can see the groomers grooming the dogs. There was one groomer with dark purple hair who was finishing up grooming a small Yorke. The dog pulled back a little while still having the neck holder on. The groomer yanked on the dogs neck pulling it closer to her chest. It broke my heart to see someone's dog treated this way. We bring our dog to this location to be groomed every couple of months, we will never do that again. I let the supervisor Miranda know right away what we witnessed. Honestly, I am not too sure how concerned she was. She didn't question me on which employee did this. I left the store in tears because of how bad I felt for this dog. I have always thought of Petco as a place that loves animals, after seeing this today, I am really worried about the dogs that are groomed here and how my dog has been treated. read more

I decided to upgrade Rex's bed to a memory foam for the upcoming winter season. This location is low key with staff and customers and stays pretty quiet during the day hours. There were lots of colors and fabric to choose from. The memory foam seemed to be a great choice even for a pet. I did get a sniff approval from Rex as we made our way to the cashier. The person behind the counter was very nice and gave Rex several treats after the transaction was completed. The Petco has a vet facility didn't see any waiting customers. I usually don't come by this location much but I may do so more often. read more

We brought our golden retriever and golden doodle in for grooming they told us it would take four hours for them to be done. So we left the store and went home waiting for them to get done. The store called about 8 o'clock with the attitude saying come pick up your dogs. Like they were mad that they had to groom our dogs. Our golden doodle was pretty much shaved almost to the skin our golden retriever didn't even look like he had a cut at all. My husband noticed when we drop the dogs off other dogs were leaving and the groomer we're giving them their "treat bags ". We didn't receive any treat bags because she was mad she was there so late. If you're not happy with your job you should do something else. read more

We brought our English Cockspaniel whose name is Theo to a Petco location here in Omaha (12410 K Plaza) for grooming. It had been a few months since we had last done it so it was long and beautiful, however there were a couple spots of matting on his legs. We brought him in after setting up an appointment to have him groomed by phone. We stressed to the groomer Rebecca in person that we didn't want it cut short. We understood that if some of the hair on his legs had to be cut shorter because of the spots where there was some matting (Although at a different location they had ZERO problem brushing them out (13660 W Maple Rd) a previous time). We also asked if his skirt could be left alone, since it's a traditional English Cockerspaniel style for them to have a skirt. There was no matting on the skirt, it was just in a couple of spots on his legs. We picked him up last night and he'd been completely shaven. Even his back and skirt, which had NO problem with matting and should have just been a regular cut, were shaved the same as every other part of his body (save his ears and face). It was all shaved with the same length, evidently without any guard. He's shaved now like he is a rescue dog, and all for a couple spots of matting on his legs. It will take years for his hair to grow back to the way that it was. I know you can't give his hair back, but I don't feel that it's fair that I pay for "grooming" that I could do at home with a Wahl. This "grooming" was executed lazily and without care. This has made me lose a lot of faith in my ability to trust Petco with taking care of Theo in the future. 3 days after the manager, Pam called me. We spoke who for 51 whole seconds by phone. She was unapologetic about my dog being almost completely shaved. She simply said "We will refund your money, but the notes say that your dog tried to bite the groomer so Theo is not allowed back." She then hung up. When we picked up Theo after "4 hours of grooming", we asked the groomer how Theo was during the grooming, to which Rebecca the groomer replied "he was fine." There was no indication of aggression on Theo's part, in his behavior afterward or in Rebecca's description of the grooming. Rebecca the groomer even went so far as to schedule Theo for a 10 week grooming and handed me coupons and a bag of treats, likely as an offering of apology, knowing that she had messed up the grooming. No mention of "satisfaction guarantee or your money back" was mentioned, and the cashier went so far as to ask if we wanted to give a tip. I was distressed, which the cashier noticed, and sarcastically said "Ok I guess not." and rang up the ticket anyway. Rebecca was at least apologetic, apparently knowing that she had messed up the grooming. When I confronted Pam in the store about her behavior during the phone call and how she was handling this situation she laughed at me when I expressed my concerns, and still did not apologize for the experience I have had. I am very upset-not just that 3+ years of hair growth has been ruined by lack of experience-but also because the person whose duty it is to remedy problems like this was unapologetic and even rude, laughing in my face. I am amazed at how poor my experience with this location has been. I have never had an issue with Jennifer at the 13660 W Maple Rd location, she has never mentioned any aggression from Theo and always does an amazing job, brushing out any matting that may be without the need to shave the entire coat. I tried a new location and now my dog is not allowed back, without any questions or apology. I must say I am very upset by this experience at this Petco's location. read more

This place is the woooorst. I will say that I think Petco is to Petsmart what Target is to Walmart. The store has a nicer feel but that's about it. It is so hard to hunt down an employee to help you in this store and when you do, they act like you're an inconvenience. Also, their prices are ridiculous. They charge exactly double what Amazon charges for the same items. I used my phone and literally ordered the same stuff while we were still in the store. I spent over $100 and the guy that rang me up had a terrible attitude. He was just flat-out rude to me and after being in the store for over an hour trying to track down everything we needed, I wasn't in the mood. And for whatever reason he couldn't find my rewards information, which I know for a fact I'm signed up for, and was really dismissive about it. I don't know, it was pretty awful all around. They also don't carry a safe bedding option for bearded dragons in their reptile section. After some extensive googling I went with some bedding from the "small animals" section that seemed okay. But it's frustrating that pet stores don't actually know anything about the care of pets unless they're cats or dogs. read more

My last visit to this store. I mean this was my last visit to this store. Customer service is nearly non-existent. Until 2 months ago, we purchased our dog's food here for a couple years and then they stopped stocking almost all of that brand. I asked on both of the past 2 visits why they had none of the brand in stock. Both months, the answer was "we order it but they don't ship it". I recommend PET SUPPLIES PLUS on 96th &Q. I was so nervous about getting Daisy groomed. We just rescued her a few months ago and I was worried that the environment would reminder her of the shelter after her first owners surrendered her. I voiced my concerns and Petco Grooming took the best care of my pup. She not only looked cute, but it was obvious that she was loved on during her visit there. Been a dog owner for a while now, but got myself a new puppy. Wanted to socialize her and took her to one of those free classes they have every Friday. The trainer that was there was GREAT. Very knowledgeable and friendly. My dog loved it as well. Not only that, she clipped her nails for us since we just missed the grooming salon there. Great service, employees, and products. The store itself is fine. Their dog grooming on the other hand, is completely unacceptable. I made an appointment for my dog on Saturday at 2pm. I came on time and waited for 10min to be helped. The lady groomer that checked us in was very unprofessional (asked 0 questions on the type of cut I wanted for my sheltie, unfriendly, and even spelled my name and my dog's name incorrectly when I spelled both out for her). I told her I wanted my sheltie cut as short as possible without being shaved and ruining her coat. When it came time to put the leash on, my dog was scared and got out of the leash and almost ran out of the front door into traffic in the parking lot. If it wasn't for her discipline, that scenario alone could've ended very poorly. After that, the lady proceeded to offer my dog (who is on a strict diet and not allowed to have treats) a treat without asking. I then asked about how long the grooming would take. She said she had no idea. I asked for a general timeframe and she said at least by 5 bc that was when they closed (3hrs later). When I came back at 4:15, I asked the checker if he could see if my dog was finished. He went back and told me it would be another two hrs! I then asked to speak to the groomer. A guy came out and said that she had just finished her bath and they were waiting for her to dry. He was very rude and also had horrible customer service. When I finally got my dog back, I looked at her cut and I couldn't even tell that they trimmed her nails, paws, or legs. Safe to say, I will never go back. read more

I LOVE this store! My pet, unfortunately, has a lot of health problems. Because of this, I had to buy extremely specific food that was only sold at holistic pet food stores. Not anymore! Petco has a great variety of all natural, grain-free and holistic pet foods. (The selection of food at Petsmart is not good at all) You may be wondering why I love this store so much? The employees. From the managers to the trainers to the part time employees -- they are seriously the nicest people ever. I have come into the store so many times with questions about foods and such and they have always helped me. Even if they didn't know the answer they would try to find out for me. They all genuinely love animals and I have never had a bad experience here. I come in here so much that some of the employees even ask me how my pet is doing. Petco also has a loyalty program. Took my dog here to get groomed. They called to say he was done. My husband was on his way when I got another call from Lori who said (immediately after I answered the phone) that I need to come get my dog because they are not a pet daycare or a boarding center. I told her thank you for being so rude and that my husband was on the way to get him (of course he went to the wrong Petco). Horrible, horrible, horrible way to handle the situation. Will never go there again. If this is how they treated me over the phone it makes me wonder how they treat the pets with no accountability. read more

On Tuesday 12/04/2018 I stopped by this store to purchase Omega-3 supplement for my dog. The store was out of the product. After talking with one of the store employees, their supply truck was to arrive on Wednesday 12/05/2018 and a resupply of the product "should" have been available on Thursday 12/06/2018. On Thursday 12/06/2018, I checked online and it appeared as though the product was available for a cheaper and discounted price of $18 (which included tax) so I ordered it using my credit card for "in store pickup". (In store price is $21.99 so it made fiscal sense to order it online with in store pickup) My credit card was charged for the product. I waited for an EMAIL to indicate that my order was ready for pickup (according to their process). Later in the morning I received an EMAIL indicating that my order COULD NOT be filled due to availability of the product AND my credit car would NOT be charged. I was to wait for a call one of their customer service representatives to call me "shortly" to find out if I could obtain the product at another store or have it shipped to me. I waited over 24 hours for the call which never came. I performed an online chat to find out what had happened to my order and call since my credit card still showed the charge. As of Friday, 12/05/2018 I was completely out of the product. The chat revealed that I could get the product at the Maple Street store. I went to that store but could only get a discount on the product down to $20.32 (included tax) which I paid for at that store. The bottom line is DO NOT use their online ordering system with store pick-up unless you call the store first to verify that the product is available. I will be disputing the charge should my bill show up with it still outstanding. This business has SERIOUS PROCESS PROBLEMS! read more
