The only place I shop in Baltimore for bra's........ The ladys who work at this shop personally select bra's for you based on your measurements, build and preferences that they ask you when you arrive. As a larger busted woman, there is no other place in the area where you can get attractive, pretty bras that don't look like something your grandma would wear. They don't make you feel weird about your size or body shape, they just do their best to make sure you get the right fit, comfort and look that you want. When I've found a bra that I really like, they will special order it in other colors for me if they don't have them in the store. I can't say enough about the customer service. I have had it up to my head this week alone with poor customer service anyway, but the service I received (or didn't receive) today at Bare Necessities was beyond disbelief. I had purchased an undergarment to try with my wedding dress at an upcoming fitting. Unfortunately the fitting would fall 2 days after their 7 day return policy. Because I had to go to the store to return the item anyway, else lose my money, I called to see if I would be able to return and re-buy the item (in the event that it didn't work with my dress -- which is did not), to which I was told yes, no problem on the phone, and then again once I got to the shop. They did the return and re-buy for me no problem. Problems arose today, when I went to return the item, I was told that I would only receive what I had paid on my most recent receipt (which happen to also include another item, so the difference was only $20, when the item itself was $60), and the rest would be refunded via a store credit. After almost 30 minutes of trying to speak to the owner, and another rude employee, to see how they might be able to help me out, the conversation seemed to go in circles. I left a terribly upset customer and have vowed to NEVER again visit the shop. They have terrible customer service, and only want to sell you things instead of caring about the well being of those that walk through the door. I will not be recommending them to ANYONE and will be sure to pass along my horrible experience with my bridal shop that referred me to them. read more

I walked in and was helped right away which is good. I told one of the sister-owners that I already had a fitting and knew my size, but she acted like I was wrong and she was right and was a little abrasive until I gave in to her to have another fitting. Then she was pleasant again. The fitting was good except that they fit very loose. I think they only know how to fit smaller boobs. Bigger boobs have totally different issues than smaller boobs. So she fit me for 2 band sizes larger than I normally buy and it felt fine in the store, but of course now that I'm wearing it it slides around so is clearly way too big. It will probably only last a month because as we all know bras stretch out, but this one is already too big. And they do not give refunds. It does say so on the receipt, but I wish I had known ahead of time because had I known, I would have only bought 1 bra in the new size and tried that for a bit before buying more. The prices are high, but not any higher than you will get for the same merchandise anywhere else. They do free alterations (of course that makes them non-returnable) so that is nice. read more

I do not recommend this store. Their return policy is terrible and one of their managers has awful customer service. She apparently never heard "the customer is always right" rule in business. I purchased a corset and some Spanx shorts to wear under an evening dress for a wedding. The salesperson that waited on me was very nice and helpful, but after getting the items home and trying them on again I felt they were going to be too uncomfortable to wear all day long to this wedding. I never removed any tags however they had fallen off in the store from trying them on. When I tried to return the items three days later I found the store closed for construction. There was no sign to say when they would reopen and nothing on their voicemail to indicate it either. I asked at a nearby store if they new when they would reopen and they said they didn't know but maybe about ten days. As the wedding was in 5 days, I couldn't wait and had to go purchase items elsewhere. After being out of town for two weekends and not living near the store I called to talk to them and ask if they would honor the store credit at least since I did try to bring them back within the seven days, but the manager that did not wait on me said she wouldn't accept anything without a tag and that the salesperson would have written it on the receipt if they fell off in the store. Well she didn't, so I am out $168 for items I never wore! In addition, the manager on the phone was very nasty! I don't know how they stay in business. read more
