We've been wanting to try this place for a few weeks now and finally got a chance to. I am very disappointed on the wait time it took for our bubble waffle cones (our wait was almost a half hour). They served other customers their waffle cones first that ordered after us as well. How hard is it to do orders in order they are received? First of all, it's pretty amazing that this café launched during the pandemic. Even before the café opened though, I always enjoyed the uplifting atmosphere of the gallery with GORGEOUS art, books, and even singing bowls; and now the café makes it even better! I ordered a cacao elixir, that I could tell was made with love, and enjoyed some pleasant conversation at the bar. It's a very lovingly put together space with sensitive, thoughtful people. Stumbled upon this place while gift shopping during my vacation in Hilo. The barista here is super friendly and patient. I'm a huge coffee lover and this is one of my favorite coffee shops that I've had. It's a bit hidden since there is another storefront that you have to walk through but I'm very glad I came across this place. There's also some really cool artwork on display (you can get a little sneak peek from my photo). I would've loved to come back and try their other drinks!! Also had a bubble waffle and it was delicious!! Cannot recommend this place enough to anyone in the area! This place deserves so much more recognition!! read more

I was super excited to hear about a new cafe in town, I went earlier this week and my latte was okay! I was more concerned about many of the baristas not wearing masks. I understand that its a brand new restaurant and we forget sometimes but Hawai'i has had a mask mandate for several months now. We were touring downtown Hilo and stopped by this cute place for coffee. Great selections for coffee and tea. Ordered ice coffee and it came which coffee ice cubes that would not dilute your coffee once melt. Service is excellent. read more

After perusing the various crystals, tarot & affirmation card decks, the art, lotions & potions get something to snack on at this cute cafe. The vibe in the shop and cafe is easily instagrammable. Nectar Cafe offers an assortment of drinks, as well as savory and sweet snackings. I like coming in for a pick me up and to be surrounded by the fun art on the walls. My mom, bestie and I came in on a Thursday afternoon and were able to snag the only table there. My mom ordered the cacao latte that comes with milk and honey. It was perfect, not super sweet and very comforting. My bestie ordered herself a dirty chai that came with a clear quartz straw! I couldn't help myself and ordered the shimmery citrine infused lilikoi lemonade. It was served with a citrine crystal straw, love this. Citrine is one of my favorite stones so I was thrilled! We also all ordered some bubble waffles, all savory. Feel free to check out the photos I added to this review. I had the Griffle. Very tasty! Not too much cheese stuffed in the waffle, which was nice. The dough used for the waffle had cheddar and chives in it, yum! My mom's waffle was the Mid Day Fae, which had the same bubble waffle dough and was topped with coconut oil, sea salt and avocado. My bestie had the bubble waffle that simply had cheddar and chives in the dough. They were a great savory treat for our midday break of shopping. This is truly unlike any cafe I have ever been to. Not only is every item on the menu extremely creative and unique (this is NOT your run-of-the-mill coffee shop), but everyone that you will encounter while there provides the most incredible energy. The food and drinks and crafted with love and high vibes, and you can certainly taste the difference. Everything that I've tried has been very impressive- recently I had the vegan quiche and a coconut mocha and LOVED it. Also not to miss: their bubble waffles topped with local ice cream are DIVINE. They have a milkshake with coffee and caramel in it that is to die for! I've only been there once when wandering around Hilo, but the menu looked really interesting especially if you want a fancy or fun non alcoholic something. Definitely gonna come back soon! read more

Nector Cafe has the yummiest treats! The bubble waffle has a nice light tasty texture, topped off with fresh, sweet strawberries & luscious whipped cream. It was artistically plated on a beautiful flower shaped glass dish with aurora borealis colored utensils. The service was excellent, too! Two beautiful women that is very pleasant and friendly--so welcoming. We will definitely go back there to try more bubble waffles and their many tempting handmade desserts and beverages! read more

This is an updated review but I'm not sure what happened at all. I ordered on the touchscreen kiosk. A smoothie and I paid for it and decided to wait in the shop. I chatted with the lady working the artsy area while also keeping an eye out to see if someone will give out my order. It's been a while since I've been chatting with her and noticed everyone has been serviced even people before me. I figured it was a fluke and waited even more. Employees behind the counter kept chatting it up and I normally let things slide but I do not joke when I say I've waited over 40 mins for a darn smoothie. Majority of the time I was just lounging and looking at all the art. Suspicion, I asked the lady working in the art area "does it normally take this long?" She decided to scuttle over and check up on it. She came back telling me "they never started on it". I immensely disappointed. Did not utter a word. They gave my smoothie, I took it, I left. In my first review I said I would give this place a second chance and it flopped, blowing it away. That was actually much more horrid than my first time there. Another customer actually over heard what was happening and said "I guess that's the cost of being overly flashy, human nature to be attracted to shiny shiny to distract from quality. Take care Brotha." I simply just nodded my head at him before I left. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! WORST customer service ever!! Had to wait longer for a drink than a bubble waffle, no apology and the girl was rude! And then I left a review from my receipt only to have been given a poor excuse on why the wait was so long and then to say "we just can't always meet everyone's expectations". Seriously?! That is NO excuse for POOR service! If the girl was nicer about our delay, I would have been okay, but to get such poor service, it's unacceptable! Will NEVER go there again!!! And I left there with NO drink because they couldn't even make it! They only made the bubble waffle. read more

What a great addition to our historical downtown Hilo From the time you walk in this gem you're greeted with such an energy of being welcome. The little cafe nectar has a great organic fresh menu. The baristas are extremely conscious about being safe with the covid concerns and wear masks As most cafes there's a tiny wait because everything is made fresh to your order You don't even notice the wait because you can walk through their enchanting artistic studio with unique products including supporting products from local vendors. Terrible service. Waited 30 mins for them to finally tell me for the second time they were out of what I ordered.

They trap you into waiting and absurdly long time by requiring that you order and pre pay at the kiosk located by the door. A simple milkshake costs about 10 dollars and takes 30-45 minutes. Not at all worth it. read more

Both times I have ordered from here, I have gotten the waffle with strawberries and whip cream, then add bananas and fruity pebbles. Their computer ordering is easy to navigate. The food is always neatly made and tastes amazing. My only improvement would be the speed of the food. I have waited between 15-20 minutes for my order both times. read more

The first time I walked into Nector Cafe, I was impressed by the captivating artwork and the overall theme of the cafe. The beverages were so cute; you could see their artwork showcased in their drinks like the rose quart shimmery lemonade. Not to mention, they sell healing crystals in the store. It is pretty clever how they incorporated it all together. Five star food presentations, aesthetics, taste, and quality customer service. The vibe of the staff members seem down to earth. The woman who helped me through their social media effortlessly went above and beyond to accommodate all of my request making it a smooth sailing and pleasant experience. Thank you to the staff of Nector Cafe for being so accommodating and exceeding my expectations. Moreover, the Cookie Monster ice cream waffle cone was bomb and fulfilled my satisfaction! Highly Recommend! This cafe is a magical diamond in the ruff and there's really nothing like it in the Hilo area. I love taking my 5 year old niece here for special treats. She loves the bubble waffles with strawberries and Nutella and decorating her own cupcake. The menu names are adorable: unicorn and mermaid latte! The space is very clean, high vibrational, artistic and I really love that while I wait for my order I can look at the gallery that's connected and there's so much inspiration with the local artists. The staff are very friendly and filled with aloha, it's very kid friendly, and i felt very safe with the COVID protocols. I will be coming back!
