As a rating I would give them a negative one. They are way overpriced. You cannot have them to come and clean your gutter once you have the contract them for and they force you to use them for 4 cleanings at a time. Then they said my house needed s few hitters that had to be fixed /. they wanted over $5000. 00 yes $5,000.00 The absurd to ask for that. Watch out they are a rip off. Another problem I had they sent me a bill then I received a second bill for a different amount and 3td bill for a different amount. I sent Then a check they never cashed it and send me a Nother bill with a different amount. The check did not come back to me from the mail so it's somewhere in the office lost. Fairly disappointing with Ned Stevens and more so with their customer service. I booked gutter cleaning for my home in New Milford. Two individuals showed up to my home. They spoke absolutely no English and I could not understand anything they were saying. How can you have workers on site with a language barrier? They were in and out in under 10 minutes. After calling Ned Stevens, the representative was extremely dismissive. His response was "they arent hired for their language, they are hired for their ability to work". Is this guy serious? In the end it seems they were asking for a water hose to flush out the gutter. Something they were unable to complete. More than anything the reps attitude ensured that I would never hire Ned Stevens again to clean my gutters. He could have been understanding and formal instead he was immediately dismissive of my concerns and could not care less. read more

The guys show up, do a great job and leave my bill at the door. Easy peasy. And if they come at a bad time -- really early on a weekend, for example -- they are happy to come back another time if I ask. And now that the phone reps don't try to hard-sell me on home improvements or high-cost repairs (long, old story), I am quite pleased with them. read more

I used them recently and they did an ok job. I had used them in the pass and everything was fine. I tried to reschedule the next service call for the fall instead of them conning in June and was met with a very aggressive sales pitch. I was trying to be polite but firm with the telephone person but she kept pushing. Finally I change my tone and firmly said NO!!!! If you like high pressure they are your type of people. Awful Gutter company Did not show up on scheduled day came out two days later then said I need a carpenter first after I discussed with them about fascia board needing to be replaced. POOR POOR POOR communication between selling team and installation team. They charged me the day I requested service for gutter cleaning. 10 days later after no contact (and after I had to send two separate emails), they called me at 9:15pm and said they couldn't clean my gutters and that I needed much more equipment than they had. We have had other companies do it before with no issues. Very disappointed and hope we get a refund for NO service! read more

Great service from the first phone call I made which was a gentleman who stated he was the manager to the guys who came out to do the service. Very easy process I did not have to be home for the service, and my property was left spotless. I will be calling Ned Stevens back in the near future to set up a service plan. read more

BEWARE of their business here. My experience is same as others in Yelp about ridiculous 'upselling' once they arrive. I gave them chance despite poor ratings. Owner (Saeed) quoted price via phone but tried to sell annual package first; finally lowered price to hook me in trial service; later began getting on roof with hose setup briefly. Finally, they call their manager to call me to sell gutters are "too dirty" then try to charge significantly more to remove ALL my leaf guards too...and NOT reinstall them. ABSURD! Why is such basic question of gutter-guards NOT asked when they quote?!? Professional? Also, defeats purpose homeowners spend on gutter guards and their removal only guarantees faster clog of more leaves for them to clean soon after. 12 years in my house I never seen this problem on other 2 other services used. Cheaper price was a red flag -- to hustle customer. I refused their work and quickly asked Ned Stevens workers to leave my property since I only reward business of same costs who had integrity upfront with customers. Waste of your time. Their low Yelp ratings are understandable to me now. BEWARE! *******UPDATE: Shane M from company just responded below with an inconsistent defensive view hours later with inaccurate information contrary to screen-prints I saved as proof to such misrepresentation. They allege a 4 star rating-- but you will note Yelp accurately displays only 2.5 stars. Shane claims 92 Reviews-- but only 52 reviews are recognized legitimately. Again, facts still remain my poor experience is consistent with others customers and company did nothing to accommodate their new customer by using business logic to honor their quoted price instead of wasting their 2 employees time/travel/etc and chose to earn $0 with a lost customer instead of honest day work while already on site to clean common gutters (--their job). Great service and they take care to leave your place tidy. The one thing you need to know is to mark your calendar with their appointment. They are prompt and start working outside without bothering you. They just put a notification outside your door. read more

I recently hired them to clean my gutters out in the middle of nowhere PA, & they did :) I didn't have to be present while they worked on the house so I was happy that I didn't need to take time off work. I have been using Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning for a few years now and decided to write a review for them after our last service.  Im on a four time a year service plan, so I get my gutters cleaned twice in the fall.  I think they do a really great job, two guys come out and bag up all the garbage in my gutters and leave it by the street.  Not sure how long it takes them but I don't really care because it keeps me off the roof.  As long as my gutters work and there aren't any major issues that I don't know about, I'm good with it.  I highly recommend them if you are interested in a gutter company that is courteous, efficient, and always available. read more

Would give no stars if possible. Showed up to my house unannounced and not authorized. Charged me a bill and would "give me half off for the inconvenience". Manager was extremely rude and refused to admit their mistake. The only proof that anyone was at my home was the door tag and the fact that they left my storm door wide open making it look like someone broke into my home when I got home from work. I called a month ago for a problem that needed to be fixed immediately, but they would not come because it was 'too cold'.... I got someone else to fix it. Great job with the gutters. However, for the price I would have expected your crew to hall away the trash they pulled out of the gutters. Instead they left the bags on the street in front of my mailbox. And of course, they were run over and smeared all over the street. We used Ned Stevens' gutter cleaning service for a few years. Their work crews were okay but not great: gunk from the gutters would be thrown on the lawn, on the deck, and in the pond and they'd leave a little garbage bag in the street in front of the mailbox. Sometimes the outdoor tap would be left on. We eventually cancelled the automatic 5x per year cleaning, because we found we didn't need it. After that, we would schedule one cleaning and they'd leave a bill requesting us to approve the next cleaning, then their crew would show up anyway two weeks later and leave another bill when no work had been done. A whole season of complaints went unanswered while they continued to bill us every two to three weeks. We finally cancelled the service. For two years now they have continued to call! Each time we answer we ask to be removed from their list. They called again this morning and identified themselves as "Your gutter cleaning service," asking to confirm our next appointment. I've had it with this company. I'm ready to file formal complaints with the BBB and the FCC for the constant calls. read more

I hired Ned Stevens company to clean my gutters. Today I came home to find a package on my steps ( the breast pump we had been waiting for ). As I got closer I saw that the package was soaking wet. I look up at my door to find the Ned Stevens door tag saying that they were there. So what I'm think happened is UPS dropped my package before Ned Stevens got there. Now I say to myself how hard would it have been to grab the package and place it in a safe dry place until you finish cleaning my gutters (4lbs. package) The pump is safe since it was air sealed in plastic but that's not the point. Have a little more respect for people's things. Btw they moved the package to open my storm door and put their hanger. And then put it up against the door again. Very professional! You stated yesterday that you operate in a way that would have your people come out to clean the rear gutters at a cost first, then provide an estimate to fix them, THEN look at that issue you were paid to fix in Feb. Oddly no estimate for any repairs to the rear of the house ever materialized and you had weeks to do that AND my MIL told you nails were popping out on the call you sent me the recording of. You also state in your response that you EVEN came back AFTER the July 19th "cleaning" to address the issue you were paid to fix in Feb, which was the reason my MIL called to complain about in the first place. You guys continually show a lack of professionalism that in my 30 years of being in sales and customer service, I rarely see from people.. read more

Well, like most people here I am very dissatisfied with Ned Stevens. They DRAGGED the hose all over my roof and damaged the stacks and so many shingles that the roof leaked and I had to pay for a big repair. They of course denied damaging the roof. And they also dented my gutters then wanted to replace them for a monstrous charge. When I cancelled my contract I also told them they were too expensive and they offered a reduced rate. Really? So you are happy to gouge people until they complain. Bye-bye! I found a local man who does it. Unlike the Ned Stevens workers he speaks English and is a legal resident of the US. read more

Very displeased with this service. Called on a friday afternoon due to gutter and fascia coming off of my home due to ice melting after the massive amount of snow we've had in this area. I was charged over $600 for the repair and was told they would get to me as soon as possible. Well today is Tuesday and no one has shown up yet. I called them and they said that since there is snow on the ground that they would be unable to fix anything until it melted as it posed a safety issue. Given the two feet of snow on the ground I doubt they would get to me anytime soon, but they were sure quick to charge me and try to upsell me on their $4000 seasonal gutter cleaning, without telling me that they wouldn't/couldn't do any work I allied them for in the foreseeable future. read more

Contracted Ned to clean my gutters on 4000sqft home. When they finished they left all the debris on my back deck. My wife told the field supervisor who moved it to the front of our house with no bags. My town does not allow curbside debris so we called them to complain and have them return to at least bag the debris as well as take it away. They came back once but did not bring any bags so they left. We then got cold weather and they were unable to return. After 3 calls the service dept said the debris was not from the gutters and they would not be removing it. There customer service is a joke as all th try to do is upsell services and get long term commitments for gutter cleaning. The service rep offered me a $25.00 voucher for future services, I laughed as I would NEVER use this company again. When they were smaller and ownership was involved they we're a much nicer and better company. read more

Scam!!! They have no problems installing them but will not clean them unless you sign an expensive contract. I had them install my gutters about a year ago. The gutters work well and I had no issues with them so far. You probably won't find a better price. No complaints on he installation. I recently called them for a cleaning and they sent somebody to my house who left without cleaning them. When I inquired why they didn't clean them they said because I installed gutter guards they won't touch them. Keep in mind the guy on the phone said this would not be a problem. I was also told I need to sign up for a cleaning plan if I want them to come back. Sounds to me that they will only clean them if you sign a $$$$$ contract. read more

When I called for service it was late November 2017. I think I called on a Tuesday and asked for them to come the following week. I was told they would come out as soon as they could. I told them that if they came to early that the gutters would be full again, they said then they would come out again. I said that makes no sense but OK. They came the next day(SOUNDS GOOD BUT NOT FOR ME)and the next week the gutters were full again. When I called they said that they would come out again , weather permitting. Well, since then the weather has not permitted them to come. I asked for a refund because I wasn't satisfied.My request was denied. This is honestly the first time I've ever used a company without checking it out on Yelp (and I'm a regular yelper). If I'd have yelped it first, I would have got scared and gone with someone else. Goes to show that sometimes, it helps to go on gut. We had a long gutter over our deck area that had broken with the snow/heavy ice and it was dangerously close to seriously falling down and damaging something (like our hot tub) or someone. I called around but all the gutter people were swamped. Ned Stevens had very good customer service on the phone, and I was impressed with all the people I spoke to - each time it was someone different. I must say I was a little peeved at having to give my credit card details before the work was done. It's not common practice to charge for service upfront surely??? I was also peeved that they couldn't give me an exact date. 3 days after I gave them my details, the gutter came crashing down slightly damaging the tub and causing a helluva mess on the deck but nothing too serious. I phoned them to hurry them up and the customer service guy who sounded like he'd been trained by Deepak Chopra (meditative, hypnotic, soothing voice), assured me that they couldn't come urgently but they would get to me as soon as possible. He "hypnotized" me into just letting it go....and I waited. 48 hours later they came, and twenty minutes later the job was done. I was impressed with the work and the guys seemed decent enough. I probably wouldn't sign up for any regular cleaning (and yes, they do try to hard sell you a contract) based on these reviews, but I was happy enough to up the rating. Ned Stevens will send someone to your home whether you are there or not. How do you know if they really performed the service they claim to have provided you if you aren't there? Ned Stevens will leave a bill at your front door that says to sign the bill if you want their next "recommended" gutter cleaning. Even if you don't sign the bill to authorize their "recommended" next cleaning, they will send someone to your home anyway and bill you for it. When you call to complain that you didn't authorize the service Ned Stevens gives you two options: (1) pay the full amount ($125) for the service you didn't authorize or (2) pay $45 for the service you didn't authorize and sign up for their $492 service plan. Neither option sounds too good to me. My wife and I recently moved to the Summit area. We needed our gutters cleaned in the fall of 2009. We received a coupon in the mail for Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning so we decided to try them. Ned Stevens does not schedule appointments because they "claim" they cannot guarantee when they will get to your house and because they need the weather to be above 38 degrees. Based on the experience we had with them, we can only assume they don't schedule appointments because it makes it easier for them to get away with their sketchy service and poor business ethics. Afterall, if the utility company can give you a window of between 8 am and 12 pm on a particular day, why can't a gutter cleaner? Based on their billing and scheduling practices, who knows if they even cleaned our gutters. Unfortunately I don't have a ladder and have no way of getting on my roof to tell if they really did clean them. In most transactions that take place over the phone, the seller is required to ask you to confirm that you are aware of the product or service they will be providing you and they ask you to confirm that you are okay with them billing you for said product or service. Apparently this rule/law does not apply to Ned Stevens. If you do go ahead and decide to use their service, be careful what you say on the phone to them. Their sales representatives have a canned pitch and "recommend" certain service plans. Even if you make it clear you only want to schedule them for one visit. Apparently in the world of gutter cleaning the words "recommend" and "confirm" have a different meaning then in the real world. For example, if you go to get your oil changed at a Jiffy Lube they may recommend you get a radiator flush or have your tires rotated, but they don't perform this service without getting your authorization first. Imagine if you asked for an oil change and then you were charged for both a tire rotation and a radiator flush. That would be unethical. Well, if Ned Stevens makes a "recommendation" it means you are fully committed to whatever they are telling you, it's not merely a suggestion. read more
