They are absolutely terrible. I've had them clean my gutters in the past and one visit they told me that my gutters needed replacement. The house was a brand new build. They came out unannounced for another visit and unfortunately we had another service being completed at our home that day so they could not perform their cleaning. They said they would reschedule. When I reached out to reschedule the woman told me that they canceled my service because my roofline was too dangerous. Same house they have cleaned prior, new build, normal 2 story home. Ned Stevens recently acquired a local company I've used a few times in the past for gutter cleaning. Not only did Ned Steven's raise their prices by 35% since then, but they've not come out to clean the gutters as promised. When I call to get a status, I'm told they'll be out when the weather is good. Weather has been decent for the past few weeks, except for a few days. also, I don't care to get the sales pitch of the "diamond" package, which is basically a waste of money. I'd prefer dealing with someone local, reliable and responsive. read more

I used them for a third time in December 2023. They came and cleaned the gutters, this was the third time I used their service and they had my credit card information. After that service they kept calling me to tell me that they recommended to repair one of my gutters. They left voicemails to insist that I needed to replace my gutter and hire a new service. In April 2024 they send me a collector because they never charged my credit card for their service back in Dec 2023. I am extremely disappointed that they did not reach out by phone or leave a voicemail to explain the credit card issue. Their communication is extremely poor. Even when I called to make a payment over the phone, they attempted to sell me another service immediately after I expressed my frustration with dealing with the collectors. I have no intention of using their services again or recommending them to anyone due to their inadequate communication and lack of common sense. read more

When I made the appointment I was told I would get a text as to the day and time they would be coming. I received a text saying "We are on the way" So I happened to walk by the window a minute later and they were already on the roof. I then get a phone call about 15 minutes later from Customer Service saying there was a problem with my gutters. I asked what was wrong and the Rep sent me pictures which did not tell me anything...... I told the Rep to tell them to speak with me about the problem. I went to the door and they were already gone less than 20 minutes they were here. Not happy at all as they did not run water through the gutter to make sure they drained. They did send different employees out the next day and they ran the water but also did not tell me what issue I supposedly had. read more

They showed up late, did a half hearted job, tried to finish as quick as possible, and charged over 3x what anyone else would have charged. I was extremely unhappy, and the left before I could even speak with them and address these issues! They left a bunch of debris from the gutter on my back porch and used a leaf blower to just blow the rest around my yard rather than collect it and bag it up. They knocked over some potted plants and did not pick them back up. For the price they charged I was expecting them to do a DEEP cleaning and maybe scrub or powerwash some of the mold off the exterior of gutters, but they did not- they barely did a decent job taking the debris out. read more

Don't let these guys have access to your credit card! They charged my card a month before they did any actual work. When they finally came, they replaced the wrong gutter. They said the gutter to be repaired was on the left rear of the house, but they replaced the left front. When I called again they gave me an argument claiming they did the correct job, saying "to the left of the chimney". And the contract I got had no details, so I can't make a case. read more

This place is an absolute joke. I originally had found "Guttermaid" online and completed what was a very comprehensive questionnaire that quoted me $120 to come out and clean my townhouse gutters. Minutes later I got an automated email saying that my request had been received and that they'd reach out - a good experience there! Fast forward a week (on the day of my requested appointment), I had still not received a call from them so I decided to call myself to try to find out if they were coming. To my surprise, the phone tree mentioned "Guttermaid powered Ned Stevens" - I had no idea who Ned Stevens was. A representative picked up and after a short introduction to the situation, proceeded to tell me that Guttermaid had gone out of business and did not exist anymore (what!?). Furthermore, he had none of the information I had provided on my online questionnaire as they were defunct and had no access. He said ha had no idea why the Guttermaid website was still active and could provide no explanation - he asked me to provide all my information all over again to give me another quote which I declined at that point. I told them they were a complete waste of time and was going to look elswhere. Long story short, this company is an total and complete waste of time with what seems like zero organization and competence. I can't even fathom why they would keep Guttermaid's website up if they bought out the place and are operating under a new name. I can't speak for their actual gutter cleaning service but that short stint I think says it all; stay away! read more

It made sense to me to have the 4 gutter cleanings a year, and I paid over $500 for this service. As a disabled person on a fixed income, this was a lot of money that I had to try to get all at once. They did come the 4 times, at least to stick a door-knocker on my front door, if nothing else. They "came" at odd times, not when the leaves were falling, or done falling--very arbitrary, unneeded times. I also find it odd that as a disabled person getting out very little, that I never actually saw or heard them do anything. I only actually saw any evidence of work once. It's like they come by when they were not needed just to say they came by so they could fulfill their allotted 4 times. Then they bombarded me with ads/offers of other stuff...how can they be trusted to do anything else when what I paid them to do was pretty much one cleaning for over $500? read more

Then they show up for a second cleaning right before a big storm, not sure if this was on purpose or serendipity however I am happy with the service contract, no fuss and no worries about buckets of water falling from the ledges. read more

What a terrible company. They gave me a quote to put gutters on our garage around 460. They took the measurements etc. then they came out and said oh no it will be 1,100 dollars. Who makes a mistake signs a contract and then says it is our mistake but we will do it for more than double the quote. Luckily I had other quotes and got the job done for 650. Don't waste your time with this company, this is a horrible business practice. read more

Scheduled to have gutters cleaned end of November. Showed up 2 weeks early and we said we have time period scheduled and many leaves yet to fall. Assured they would come back at end of month. Never showed. Called and said we were on schedule still and they would get to us as soon as possible. Never showed. A full month after our original scheduled time frame to have gutters cleaned we decided we waited long enough. Cancelled our service with them. read more

The gutters seem clean, at least the ones I checked. They left a bag of trash on the shoulder in front of my neighbors house. I called requesting they come and pick it up, was informed by the rep the crew would come right back, of course the trash is still out there. The rep informed me the gutters are pitched incorrectly. The gutters are only six months old, I asked to have the info sent in an email and received an estimate for new gutters. I was offered a siding soft wash while on the phone with the rep...for over $600.00! As of now I can not recommend. read more

I called these people to get my gutters cleaned. They asked me how many square feet my home was I told them 4,000, and they gave me a quote over the phone for $165.00 and they would be there within 3 weeks, and would text me when they were on the way. I get a text message a week later saying they are on the way, 5 minutes later I get another text message saying there was a problem and to please call them. I called the number as requested in the text message and was on hold for 18 minutes, the lady on the phone said it appears my house is a bigger than 1,400 square feet and I have gutter guards on there. I told her I know my house is bigger than 1,400 square feet that's why I said 4000 and I do not have any gutter guards on there, and why didn't anyone knock on my door ? She said she would call her labor department and call me right back, 36 hours later no call. I emailed them and replied to their text message and of course they don't receive texts they only send and lord knows where my email went. I would like to take just a few minutes to describe the absolute joke of an experience I had with this company last month. In advance of hurricane/tropical storm Ida, I contacted a few vendors to get my rain gutters cleaned. I called Ned Stevens (national number) and made arrangements for them to come the next day. I acknowledged the last-minute request and agreed to a $100 rush charge in addition to the gutter cleaning amount which was reasonable. I informed the customer service representative that I live in a three story rowhouse (which is common construction in DC) and my rain gutters are only on the back of my house, so they can't be seen from the street. I also informed him that while my house is tall (again 3 story house), there is a third-floor deck on the back of my house they could put a small ladder on so they wouldn't need to put one on the ground and climb all the way up. The representative said he put this in the notes and the crew would text me when they were on the way the following day. The next day, I got their automated text to inform me they'd arrive within the hour. Then, five minutes later I got an automated text that said "oops, we are unable to provide you service" and that I needed to call them. After calling them three times and getting nowhere, I was informed my house was too tall and they decided from the street they were unable to clean my gutters. I reminded the agent of the discussion from yesterday and he said no notes about the gutters being in the back of my house or using the third-floor deck to reduce the ladder height needed to clean my gutters. If their technicians had bothered to get out of the car and come to my door, I could have shown them all of this. Instead, they canceled onsite and bailed on a customer. This place is an absolute joke and I encourage everyone to stay away! read more

Whether we are communicating on the phone or in person, this company has been professional and polite. After they acquired our previous cleaner, Guttermaid, we decided to try Ned Stevens. We'd had excellent experiences with Guttermaid and thought we'd get similar service from Ned Stevens. We couldn't be more wrong on that. Scheduling was easy. They came out pretty quickly and that's where the good ends. They left all kinds of debris in multiple gutters. One of them looked like it hadn't been touched at all. Another had debris blown right over the gutter downspout opening. Additionally, they started sending me emails about needing to call them about an issue noticed during the cleaning. I called to find out about the "issue" and also to request a re-do of the gutters that still had debris. The rep on the phone seemed very interested in selling me a $600 service to clean mildew off the upper siding of the house. There was no issue with my gutters at all, just an observation of mildew that they could come out and service. In the same call, the rep said that a crew would return within 5 days to address the missed gutters. Well, it's been over a month and nobody has come back. The debris is still there. This company seems focused on selling as many services as possible and not on quality of work. If you can't get my first cleaning right after given the opportunity to fix it, why would I want any further services? We will definitely not be using them again. I used Ned Stevens for my own home and a rental property last year, 2021. I agreed at that time they could contact me this fall, 2022. Without any prior notice or contact, I received a text message on November 12, 2022 that they were on the way! that was 9:06 am. I instantly (9:06 am) called the phone number given in the text and told them to cancel the visit that I did not know was scheduled. I was told by an aggressive call taker that he could "pull up a recording of my phone call a year earlier!" He said I agreed (a year earlier) to late November. Is November 12 late November? I told him to cancel the service And I did not authorize their company to be on my property. Guess what? They still showed up, and today billed me for $158.87 for a small 2 story townhouse- even though I cancelled the service- that I did not know was scheduled. The bill also included a charge of $4.87 for "Temp. Fuel Service SurCharge" the temperature was almost 70 degrees, the sun was shining, and gas was back to reasonable prices. It is my opinion, based on this experience, this is unethical, PREDATORY BUSINESS PRACTICES, and once your name/address is in their system, you can't stop them from showing up anytime they choose. read more

Ned Stevens did an awful job and lied. We are sharing this review late, but felt it necessary, considering they were supposed to replace the fascia and did not. We are still having the same issues and the boards under the fascia are clearly rotten. When they were done you could tell that the fascia still looked old. When we complained they said that wasn't included, after initially saying it was. It was a group of Spanish guys and my neighbor said they were all hanging out on our porch not working when we weren't home. Every time we called and tried to let them know when we would be home, they couldn't make it. Seemed very strange they only wanted to come when we weren't home. We also asked them to replace the chimney cap and they replaced the wrong chimney cap. When we told them, they said they couldn't replace the other one because the terra cotta was broken. So instead of telling us, they just replaced the wrong one? Please do not go with this awful company for gutter repair or replacement, they are crooks and do not care at all when you complain. read more

It would have been nice knowing when you were coming, however, the job was done with-in the time-frame given. Pushing upgrades of follow-up gutter cleaning did annoy me. From the get-go, I did say the gutters were damaged and probably needed replacement. In my initial review, I stated I was not sure I wanted follow-up gutter cleaning and requested a call back which I did not receive. We have used Ned Steven's several times. I will share my opinion of the company. The men who do the work do a fine job but their customer service people do not. All they want to do is up sell to a contract which we do not want. I had never liked that they would not schedule for a specific day but had always come a day or two after calling for service. They did offer a special promo to schedule a specific date so I call immediately to make an appointment. The women on the phone was snarky as usual and I gave her the date I wanted. She replied that it would be sometime after that to which I said I was responding to their offer of a set date. Of course, that date has come and gone and I called to inquire and was told they'd be here in a few days! I always prepare for the work, moving outside furniture and plants so I'd had enough and cancelled. So if you don't mind rude "customer service" folks and not being able to trust an appointment, they're the company for you! read more

On May 25, 2020 I contacted Home Advisor to have our gutters cleaned. They set up an app't with Ned Stevens Cutter Cleaning. On the scheduled date, the worker arrived and (not his problem) didn't speak Engish and I couldn't communicate simple things like where the water hose, etc. were located. After about 50 minutes he showed up with pictures on his phone, again I tried to ask a few important questions but it was impossible. I find out that he didn't use any water to clean the gutters but just showed me a trash bag with some dirt in it. We've had 2 storms since this day and now the kitchen is flooding from the gutters. I question whether anything was done but without being able to go up 3 stories to examine or ask a question I have no idea what occured for my $190. I've asked Home Advisor for a refund or a least a real gutter cleaning but they just offer discounts on my next job. I would never hire them again. I really hate writing this but I took work off and it's a lot money to me. I blame the supervisor not the worker sending him out alone. read more

The idea of "trust me" is a terrible business policy. And while I normally provide "A" reviews on Angies List, this will not be one of them. Poor service and outright lying are not good business practices. Ned Stevens was selected by my tenants after I confirmed their rating on Angies List. For the safety of their workers, they do not take pictures of their work (most places now do) and I couldn't verify for the higher level gutters. When I had a chance to check the lower level gutters, I noticed they had removed the sturdy downspout screens I had placed in there. I called and spoke with both the manager and foreman who assured me they would return to replace them. I told them I couldn't verify the higher level gutters because I didn't have a tall ladder and wanted them to take pictures to confirm. No dice due to their policy, so I was told they'd do it correctly this time. True, they replaced the downspout screens on the lower level with a flimsier model but they did what they said. BUT, now, several months later, a new neighbor lent me his taller ladder. Yup, you guessed it, no downspout screens on the higher level. Really?!?!?! So they did the lowers and blew off the uppers. After I was assured by the service manager and foreman? Well, you can bet I'm not using this company again and would recommend that no one does unless they are able to verify the work being done and until Ned Stevens changes their practice that allows you to verify their work with pictures. read more

I hired Ned Stevens to replace my original gutters and downspouts which were no longer draining properly. Since my original gutters and downspouts had been removed while my house was being painted (which Ned Stevens recommended), I specifically made clear my need to discuss with the installers how the downspouts should be configured. The team that arrived to install the new gutters did not seem interested in what I had to say, ignored my instructions, and ended up having to remove and reinstall one of the gutters and two of the downspouts after putting them in the wrong place -- creating extra, exposed holes in my just sealed and painted eaves and siding. They also told me my drainage pipes were completely blocked so couldn't reconnect the downspouts to them. After they left I determined there was just had a small quantity of debris across each opening. So now I have to buy more parts and cut and reconfigure two of the downspouts to connect them to my drainage system. Overall, the crew seemed primarily interested in getting the job done as fast as possible and moving on, and didn't seem to care about my needs as the homeowner.
