The winter gutter cleaning took place by the end of February and the Spring cleaning in mid July - after the rain storms have already cleaned the gutters - and I had to clean the debris! Overall: Ned's Home does a good job (gutter cleaning), but you have to watch them on the invoicing and safety issues. These deficiencies can easily be corrected with proper management. Gutter cleaning: 5 stars. The cleaning crew took care of the gutters and left surrounding areas very clear. Safety: 1 star. They showed up with safety harnesses and safety ropes, but did not use them. This particular crew worked on a roof covered with ice, and they could have easily fallen, but safety was not a concern even though they were given the opportunity by the homeowner not to do the job until conditions got better. Invoicing: 2 stars. What they quote is not necessarily what shows up on the bill. The office quickly corrected the mistake, but if you are not watching the billing, you could easily end up overpaying. Local crew supervision: 2 stars. The cleaning crew is in need of adult supervision. They do a very good end-job, but safety is not even a concern. They could have easily fallen from the roof, and then we would all have a bigger problem with medical and liability issues for both Ned's Home and the homeowner. read more

I looked at downspout bottoms - filled with leaves! I cleaned them out myself as best I could. Back patio and front steps left covered with mud. In my opinion you should avoid this company like the plague. They left debris on roof after blowing that will settle back into gutters and maple tree seeds stuck in gutter guard. Debris was let on outside of gutters that was a mess. When I called to complain, they sent guys back. I wasn't home and they gave my wife a lot of lip, saying the had done a good job and did not want to clean anymore. They did a cursory job and left having corrected nothing. I requested service because gutter or downspout was causing a pooling at bottom of the yard. I payed for a cleaning and check why water was pooling at bottom, $165 + $100 emergency to get them out to my house. They only cleaned gutters and saw the water pooling at bottom and did nothing. I tried to explain again when they arrived but to no avail because I could not understand them, I called the office and stressed that nothing I ask on the initial call was carried out, they even told me the workers report said no problem, I stated I should not have to pay $100 for emergency since it was not checked but I got charged anyway for$300, with no invoice. Shady business with automated services to maximize their billing. I put my credit card on file and waited more than a month for them to show up with a 2-min notice. Forget the "no clog guarantee" - after the cleaning, they said I needed extra service to unclog a downspout in the ground. I had to pay for a 2nd invoice up front for them to come out, maybe another 3 weeks later. They said it was not possible to unclog my downspout and hurried to the next job. It was the last straw when a few days later the storms came, I discovered that most of my downspouts were not even connected properly. I phoned and canceled my recurring service. A few weeks later, I just got a 3rd invoice I am not expecting. I don't owe them anything, so I need to call them once more to sort this out. In April 2025 i walked out of my resident to find several people on a ladder using my water to clean my gutters. I immediately requested they stop, however they did not speak or understand English. One of the gentlemen gave me a card with the phone number of Ned,s Home. I called the office and informed the company i did not request this service and had no clue why there were there. I was informed they would call there employees back and investigate. The workers also tore off the clamp that held my downspout in place. Now i am receiving threatening letter to pay a bill for a service i never requested. I have called the office several time without assistance. The company, Ned's home and all of its division harasses the customer once the customer stops using their services with daily txt and calls form different phone numbers each time, so blocking the numbers does not help. I called them back and asked to stop, they said they would stop, but it didn't. The job was not good. If you only consult them for a job they send out the crew without a scheduled appointment and unexpected. I am glad I was home and able to stop them when I heard the crew climbing on roof to change my newly installed gutters! read more

Additionally, when I went to cancel my service, the person on the phone started using the fear tactic to change my mind about cancelling. Frankly, I don't respond well to pushy sales tactics and it's my personal policy not to work with vendors who rely or utilize those tactics. The week prior I had emailed pictures of the damage and explained exactly what I wanted looked at on the house. I received the automated text at 10:45 AM. The team promptly left by 11:10 without speaking to me providing a quote, patching the hole in my roof, nothing. I then called Ned They were unaware of any roof damage. The crew arrived within a reasonable time after a morning rain. Jose Castor led the crew. They immediately went to work, blowing off the roof and running a hose into the gutters to see if anything major might be stopping it up. When nothing was found, they cleaned all of the debris from all gutters. When the job was completed, the crew blew my driveway and hosed down a car that was near the work area. This was the first time that I used Ned's and as with any service professional that does work for us, I always expect an attempt to up charge for something. That was not the case here. Jose was a great team leader, one I felt maintains high integrity. I will most certainly use them again. read more

They drenched the house with a continuous Cascade of water, which I suppose most of which went down the gutters and drain pipes, but some got into the house. They checked nothing, no ladders, no scaffolding, no buckets, no brushes or rakes. Never again. read more

Ned Stevens seems to show more than one location so I'll put my review under the one with the most reviews. My invoice shows an address in New Jersey. I contacted Ned Stevens for gutter cleaning, and the gave me a price over the phone and put me on their schedule. They do not give appointments but a range of days, which is fine with me because you don't have to be home. I called May 1 and they said it would be within the next 5 days, which was great because the last place I used said they were booked until July. They didn't give me a heads up that they would require access to a water spigot, so it's fortunate that I was home when they came because mine is in the garage. They were fast, and effective, and left the place as clean as when they arrived. And the price was right. Will definitely use again. read more

This isn't the review I expected to write. I've been on annual contract for awhile, and although I always have to call and remind them to please show up (Dec is not too helpful with the leaves), they carefully clean up after themselves and I've been satisfied with the maintenance. But. They've been pressuring me for two years to power wash moss off my roof warning that it could contribute to the accumulation of dangerous moisture. This year I agree to it, and spent over $600 on it. They sprayed my roof on July 8, and by July 10 just about every plant in range of the roofline was damaged or dead: dead canna lilies, dead and damaged leaves on the roof-side of my crepe myrtle, bleached section of the ilex shrub, blackened branch tips of the weigela bush, black and dead coneflowers, yellowed and dropped leaves of the rose of sharon, dead forsythia shoots, dead walnut sapling, brown hydrangeas. There had been no warning that this could happen! I would never have done it! Three emails, photos attached, to customer "service" and two phone calls, and no response after 10 days. One phone call did elicit a conversation with a question about what monetary response might make me happy. I replied that I wasn't in it for the money, I was heartbroken about my poor plants, and I wanted an apology. I am canceling my contract. Watch out for these guys! read more

The price they charged me was much higher than the price I was quoted. Additionally, when they cleaned my gutters they did not clean up any of the debris. It was all over my deck, patio, planters, furniture and pool. There were no bags of debris (as stated in their ads) because they were not picked up. Lastly, it rained the day after they were here and the "helicopters" from the trees came streaming out of two of the gutters so I guess they were not cleaned properly. Would NOT recommend. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I only agreed to Ned Stevens b/c they bought out my prior gutter service - Gutterman, which I had used for decades. Ned Stevens crew came out yesterday for the first time - unannounced, but I happened to be home. They do not verify that the gutters work and don't know what they are doing. And they broke my outside faucet. I have three underground drains, and they did not verify water was coming out, which is pretty basic. They handed me a card that said the gutters were clear/there were no issues. When I pointed out that no water was coming out of one of the three underground drains, the technician asked me where it was. (Proof they never checked.) I showed it to him. He told me the underground drain was clogged up, even though he had checked "all clear" on the card. (This drain has NEVER been clogged in three decades. The gutters have screens.). I told him they didn't put sufficient water in the gutter near the downspout on that corner of the house. He said they put lots of water down, and that the underground drain needed to be snaked. I asked him to show me by putting water in that gutter/downspout again. They re-hooked up their hose to the front faucet they had been using and one tech and I waited by the "dry" underground drain. The tech on the roof with the hose then asked me if I had shut the water off?! No. He said no water was coming out, so unhooked the hose and hooked it up to a backyard faucet. Water immediately came streaming out the underground drain that they had told me was backed up - i.e., proof they didn't run water in it the first time. Then I checked out the front faucet they had been using. The faucet was broken, although I had used it earlier to water flowers, and they had used to clear the gutters on their first try. Had them for service for the past three years, mostly because I hadn't bothered to find someone else. To begin with - they come whenever they feel like it - you get a text and someone is coming if it is convenient or not, there really isn't any way to get in touch with the people coming - you can't text back - so if you're sleeping, or you're not home and your dogs are out - you're out of luck. I never loved that part. The first time they came out they said they "found a problem" with my gutters - which are new and don't leak, I do have a bad facia board on another part of the house which they didn't point out - so I felt like they were trying to scam me from day one. They were very high pressure for them to fix the issue, but I declined. Also, their guys show up, stomp around on the roof, sometimes with a hose, but usually just leaf blower - leave all the roof stuff all over the yard, my car -etc. and I would always have to clean up after them. I paid $140 for about 15 minutes work, my house is a ranch and its not very large. Their rates went up several times over the years without warning, and the service declined. The last straw was a few weeks ago I went into my attic - as I do several times a year to make sure nothing is leaking, no bees, pests etc. and I noticed a break in my roof decking near the ridge. It was a small break, where it was pretty apparent someone stepped and their foot went part way through. No leak, thankfully but I could see shingles. No one else has been on my roof - so it likely happened when they last came early in the year to clear my roof (and make a mess and charge me more than last year). It cost me $750.00 to repair it. The roofer confirmed that it was pretty clear someone's foot caused the damage - so they would have known they did it, and didn't alert me. I called and canceled their service. They asked me why and I told them. They offered me about $20 off my monthly cost - no remuneration for breaking my roof, or much of an apology - just begging me not to cancel. I let them know I was done and that was that. I was firm but polite. I was going to let it go, and not post a bad review. But then today they called me. Twice. "I'm calling to schedule your gutter cleaning" - well - they don't schedule gutter cleanings, and I said that they must be mistaken because I cancelled my service a couple weeks ago. A very unprofessional guy - who was obviously tasked with trying to get my service back whined to me about how they were they best and I was their client a long time. I politely said that I was certain that my account would reflect I canceled service because they damaged my roof, and I already found someone who did a better job, for a lower price to clean my gutters, and I hung up. If they call me again - or contact me again I will contact the BBB. Use this company at your peril. Their workforce does shoddy work, for a high price, I normally write reviews to laude good service - but I had to warn folks about this company. This company is so poorly run, but more importantly they did 3 things that are very disturbing: 1) they did not take any before and after pictures after gutter cleaning, which is VERY standard procedure. 2) All the leaves and debri they cleaned out they left for me to deal with. I have NEVER had to clean up after a gutter cleaning and 3) it took over 1 month for them to come out, but telling me every week they would be there in few days. Communication is so poor. I have been using Ned Stevens for three years, and they are reliable and on time. I even had them care for my roof and use their mosquito treatment services. I have been pleased and will continue to use their services. I have recommended them to my neighbors and friends and will continue. What I like about the company the most is that I don't need to be home, and I am on an Auto schedule, so I don't have to worry about scheduling them. It's like the labor is outsourced and not completed by Ned Steven's employees. Communication was disjointed so status updates were hard to come by. I really needed my gutters cleaned in October. However, when Ned Stevens Company came out, they realize they needed a taller ladder because of my townhouse size. They said they needed managers approval and they would get back to me. Eventually they got back to me and said it was approved and they would finish the job before the year is over. Mind you it's two months now, I hear them pull up to my driveway and soon after drove off, when I called them they say they still need managers approval because the townhouse is tall. To say these guys are shady is the least of it. I called them based on a couple of reviews from some neighbors saying they were so great when one of my downspouts detached from our house. When I first called I didn't even realize what the problem was because all I saw was water running over the top of the gutter and thought it needed to be cleaned. I called the company and arranged for a cleaning. A few hours later after really looking at the situation I realized that it was a downspout that had become detached from the top gutter. I called the company and told them what was going on and they told me that they could fix it during their routine cleaning and inspection. A few days later they showed up. I had asked for a little bit of a heads up of their arrival which happened about 5 minutes before the guys came. Luckily I was home at the time and I could see these guys were annoyed that I was there at all. They couldn't seem to understand me very well when I explained that they needed to take a look at the detached downspout in the back. I got lots of nods, but I didn't have much confidence. They spent a total of fifteen minutes tops.....mostly spraying water all over my windows. I didn't see them take a ladder around the other side of the house at all. Then I see them taking the ladder and putting it back on the truck and getting ready to leave. As I open the door I see a tag that says, "Please call the office we have found a problem". At this point I run out and start screaming for them to stop what they were doing and wait for me to call the office. The person at the office was now telling me that they weren't prepared to fix the downspout-that they didn't have the parts on the truck. Really? You don't even have a screw to reattach a downspout even though that's the reason I called you guys? I told the guy that if they left without fixing that broken downspout I wasn't going to pay them for the cleaning at all and suddenly they were able to get up on the ladder and fix the hanging piece in two seconds. A miracle. After that I was receiving calls about them telling me that there was some kind of a problem with the pitch of my gutters etc etc. I knew they were full of it. First of all, those guys were only up on the roof for a total of ten minutes and there's no way they have any idea what conditions the gutters were really in. They walked away and left an entire downspout hanging loose off the house for Pete's sake. How on earth would I ever believe that they were professionally trained to know about the pitch? I had another company come since then to clean the gutters and they said there were no problems with them whatsoever. Not really a surprise to me. They are absolutely terrible. I've had them clean my gutters in the past and one visit they told me that my gutters needed replacement. The house was a brand new build. They came out unannounced for another visit and unfortunately we had another service being completed at our home that day so they could not perform their cleaning. They said they would reschedule. When I reached out to reschedule the woman told me that they canceled my service because my roofline was too dangerous. Same house they have cleaned prior, new build, normal 2 story home. Not only did Ned Steven's raise their prices by 35% since then, but they've not come out to clean the gutters as promised. When I call to get a status, I'm told they'll be out when the weather is good.
