But if looking for a place to work on your short game, get some exercise, not have a lot of people around you backed up on each hole, and pay a very reasonable price, this is a hidden gem!! The course has been rough the past few years, not even playable. It is as nice right now as I've seen it over those 20 years. Dramatic change and all for the good. I used to lose balls and find balls around all the bushes and trees. Didn't lose one today....nor did I find any!! New owners have done a wonderful job cleaning this course. We came to Los Lagos on day two after deciding to go with a cheaper option. Let me say, we all have buyers remorse. The round was $75 per person, which is still high for the quality of course. The tee boxes were very difficult to even get a tee in to. The sand traps were hard and compacted and have nearly as much grass as sand. There were dirt patches on the middle of the fairway for no reason. The redeeming quality of the course were the staff. Customer service was excellent throughout, which eased the burden slightly. Do yourself a favor and choose any other course.

The decision to play here comes down to, what do you want to spend and what are you willing to put up with.

Greens were fairly fast but rolled true - loved the Greens! Overall maintenance was good considering it is a desert course. The staff was very friendly and helpful in the clubhouse. The bad: The Sand Traps - OMG, clean them out and put some sand in them! They were raked mechanically, but whatever they used left deep grooves in the very lumpy sand. I could never get a decent lie in the traps! I mean, I can hit a ball out of a fairway bunker as long as I can get the club on the ball. But not in these bunkers! The balls had either clumps of sand/dirt behind it or it was buried in a groove created by the mechanical raking. So, our tournament director had us start on #8b - so we had as threesome start before us on 8. We moved along nicely. By the time we made the turn, there was about a hole open between our group and the threesome. So, what did the course staff do? They stuck a foursome followed by a single in front of us! (WHAT THE FUCK?!) So we go from having a very nice, smooth game around the course to having to wait on every hole for our last 7 holes - three times, the single player was still on the tee when we finished a hole and went to the next tee box. The parking lot: GRAVEL?! Are you kidding me? For a "Resort" course that charges a hundred dollars per person per round, you can't afford to pave that small parking lot?
