Much to my dismay, I discovered a geyser shooting water up from a pipe in the rear of my property…read morethat I'm trying to prepare to rent. It was rather late in the day on Saturday so I just turned the water off and decided to deal with the problem on Monday. So, on Monday, I did a drive-by to assess the situation and discovered another area where water was bubbling to the surface and resulted in quite a large muddy spot. Well now, my head just hurt. So I turned to Yelp to look up 'Plumbers' and started reading reviews and I noticed that Rapid Action Rooter had sooooo many positive comments. I sent a message through Yelp describing the problem and a few minutes later I received a reply from the owner. I called Mandel, the owner, and he said he could come out that afternoon. That was yesterday. Mandel and his assistant were waiting for me when I arrived, both dressed in uniform with company info on the shirt. After I showed him the problem areas he and partner got to work. Mandel discovered there was a hole--more of a slit, in the middle of this piece of copper pipe (buried about 3 feet underground )--so weird. Have NO idea how could've happened...or WHEN! Mandel explained the damaged portion of the pipe needed to be removed and replaced, welded back together. He was transparent about the price and method of payment--uses Zelle, which is super convenient! During our conversation, though, I mentioned some other jobs that needed to be completed in the home. Well, before I could say, "do you know anyone who does...?", Mandel was telling me about his drywall & paint guy, his flooring guy, his electrical guy. But more than merely tell me about the tradesmen, he actually called them before he left so that I could coordinate a day/time to meet with them AND Mandel told them that HE would text them my contact information. What??!! I felt an incredible sense of relief knowing that most, if not all, of the remaining projects in the house will be completed. And it's because I had the great fortune---blessing, actually, of meeting Mandel. I would select Mandel and Rapid Action Rooter Plumbing again and again!!! He's the best!!!

They fixed the issue but camera photos showed 50 year old pipes that needed to be totally overhauled. What followed was a weeks long, very expensive project that called for digging from garage to street and then covering up everything! Through the entire ordeal, Joshua was a ROCK! He's AMAZING! A real PRO! He's extremely knowledgeable, explained everything in great detail, arrived promptly (and called in if/when there were delays) and made sure the whole team cleaned up each day. I was so afraid he was going to crack the tiles. This is how incompetent he was - he attached the faucet on backwards, and had to take it apart and re-do it. Everyone makes mistakes, and I'm a forgiving person. But it was hard to believe that this guy was an experienced plumber that he claimed to be - he made a mistake at every step, and just kept on trying to jam the wrong thing into the wrong place even though it didn't fit. I kept having to ask him, "Uh, isn't that hose supposed to go in there?" Etc. And he'd be like, "Oh yeah! Duh." This happened many times. And this wasn't even a complicated job! Was he drunk or something? Not to mention, he didn't even have the right parts with him, and jammed the wrong-size rubber washer in one of the pipe connections. A few weeks later, it busted and started leaking! Good thing I was home to notice, or else I would have had some serious water damage to deal with! So I called him and told him to come back and fix this, and he was like, "Oh, I'll stop by when I have time." So when is that going to be? "Oh, I don't know. I'll call you." What?!? My pipes are leaking because you messed up, you are going to call me when you feel like it? So I told him, "Look, it's leaking, this is serious. It is your responsibility to fix this, so I need a time commitment." Apparently, the suggestion that his performance may have been less than perfect really pissed him off, and he yelled a bunch of abuse at me. He eventually said, "I'm not helping you because you are stupid." Like I'm asking him for a favor or something. So anyway, this guy sucks. If you have a plumbing problem, hire someone else.
