Let me start by saying that my mom's house is VERY old, and things have not been updated for years. I was concerned due to the pipes being very old. I used Green's Plumbing to change a toilet a few years ago, and I remembered they did a great job. so there was no question in my mind who to call when I needed more plumbing services. Before we agreed on the work, Brian explained the process and his company's approach to fixing plumbing deficiencies, which showed us what to expect. Our kitchen faucet had badly corroded at the base, making it impossible to remove using conventional methods and tools. But soon enough he had removed the unyielding faucet with a Sawzall, leaving no doubt who was in charge of the fate of the faucet. The other tasks were also quickly and expertly completed. I received a return call from Anne who was so kind and I told her that I will give her a synopsis of my issue with my sink and my washer is overflowing . Within 1 hour I receive a conformation that Brian will come by in the afternoon. Brian came on time. Acess the situation and Immediately went to work . He did Hydrojetting and awhole bunch of black stuff came out . He snaked it and hydro jet the outside overflow pipe for a good 20 minutes until the water becomes clear again. Brian responded, was very professional and friendly, worked quickly, and made a recommendation that we test the overflow tanks on the water heaters (my house has two), which I ok'd. Brian came by yesterday and saved the day! We had a new washing machine delivered, but when the delivery guys tried to replace the hose, they found that the valve and pipe appeared to be corroded. They tried to get the corrosion off of the valve, but it didn't work. In the process, they ended up spraying water everywhere and left us with a dripping valve. To them, it looked like we would need to call a plumber to replace the pipe before our washing machine could be connected. They actually suggested a plumber, but he never called us back, so I started looking for one on Yelp. I decided to go with Green's Plumbing because the reviews seemed pretty good, they were a local business, and they also had a Yelp deal. So I called and left a message about the issue to see if they might be able to come by that day. I got a call back within 15 minutes, and they gave me a two hour window of when to expect them to arrive, plus they said they would call when they were 30 minutes away, which was great since I had errands to do that day. When Brian arrived, he assessed the problem and let me know that it wasn't necessary to replace the pipe, only the valves and some other parts. I really appreciated that he explained the issue so I could understand it. We also asked that he hook up our washing machine since we didn't want to arrange another appointment with the installers. He gave me a fair estimate for everything, and was done within an hour. He was also kind enough to clean up some of the wet rags on the floor from earlier in the morning, which he didn't have to do. This was my first experience with Green's Plumbing, and it was excellent. Great customer service, communication, and quality of work. I emailed Green's because I read great reviews on the Next Door app. It's a small job and my usual guy had bigger jobs and couldn't fit me in. I had a very leaky outdoor faucet that I couldn't fix on my own because (a) I couldn't figure out if the water was coming from the main line or the house line or the sprinkler connection and (b) I'm not a plumber and I'd rather not make the situation worse :) They responded quickly. Brian called me in the morning, and he came out later that day. He immediately assessed the water situation, explained the work in detail and answered all my questions. Green's Plumbing is very expensive. I would give them higher ratings if they cared more about their clients rather than the "oh mighty dollar". I'm a little perplexed on how Ed Green (owner) handles his customers. As a business owner myself I would go out of my way to make sure that I meet or exceed a clients requests, however, that didn't happen here. I asked Ed for advise on a simple solution to minimize my financial risk and the advice I got from him was a voice recording saying he didn't want to do business with us. The first request was to get a price on a toilet, Ed said we would call me the next day on a competitive price well that returned call never happened. I also asked Ed to install 2 toilets and asked him if would be more efficient and economical to do it on one visit. Ed's response was "it will $240-$250 per toilet" now you be the judge.... $500 to install 2 existing toilets? Greens was just here the other day and I paid them $550 replace a pantry faucet. To be frank, I'm remodeling my whole house it's not about the money it's about fairness for an existing good client. I have used them on 2 other jobs and didn't squabble on the high price so for Ed to turn down business because I'm asking for sound advise and a fair deal is extremely perplexing. read more

Disappointed. Late review, but still relevant. Two stars only because Ed seemed like a decent guy, and Green's did re-plumb our kitchen sink and install an earthquake shutoff valve on the gas meter in a timely manner. Ed also took the time later to respond to after hours call while he was at dinner to direct me to another plumber when we had an emergency situation. That was very much appreciated, but unfortunately I must give zero stars for the rest of the story: I had Green's come out to my mother's house in the San Fernando Valley in September 2016 to give an estimate on some work, and as a result they returned in October 2016 to to re-plumb the kitchen sink, install a gas earthquake shutoff valve and run a camera through the drainage system to determine the source of a recurrent toilet blockage. Quick job on the sink and shutoff valve. Absolutely no complaints there. Completely different story on the drainage issue. Had them run the camera on October 11 2016 and determine a likely source of the recurrent blockage. The technician indicated a "joint" needed to be replaced and gave me a guestimate on the likely cost, but stated that Ed was the one who would generate the actual estimate. Multiple phone messages, emails and just over 2 months later, I was finally able to get a quote via email on December 23 2016 - at double the guestimate - on replacing a portion of the system thought to be responsible for the recurrent clogs. I was left wondering how accurate a quote could be when it was given months after the tech saw it, the summary on the inspection sheet was a quick one-liner (so did anyone really remember/know the scope by that time?), and Ed never actually saw the issue for himself. Already not feeling very warm and fuzzy by this time, I opted not to continue with Green's. I ultimately had to start the search for a decent plumber anew, and pay again to have the new plumber camera the system again in order to accurately assess and quote a repair. After a promising start with Green's, just wasted time and money. Not a good experience at all. Really disappointing. read more

Green's is GREAT!! I recently had my tankless water heater serviced and they did a routine check on my pressure regulator. Boy am I glad they did! The pressure regulator was BAD and we were getting utility pressure throughout the pipes in my home! That accounted for why I kept hearing a banging noise whenever the washer, dishwasher, sprinklers and ice maker would go on and off... the pressure was too much at 150 when it should only be between 55-65!! I forget how I found Ed Green but I had used him several years ago to fix shower faucets that were some oddball valve that nobody else wanted to deal with but he successfully fixed. I am glad I kept his card since my water heater died yesterday morning (Easter). I called another plumber I had been using and left a message and I also called Ed as backup. Lucky thing since the other guy was apparently out of town but Ed quickly called back (again, this was Easter Sunday).
