They were out of those items, so I tried the curry chicken and my dinner mate had the oxtails and curry goat. Service was fast and the food was really good. The oxtails, curry goat, and jerk chicken were all so tender and seasoned properly. It was a good choice to try. I really enjoyed the food and would definitely try this place again. I had the Crispy Shrooms. Really good. Jollof rice is definitely a different and unexpected texture and flavor, very good. For the main dish was the Lobster Cashew curry. I decided to order a few things. I asked for a jerk chicken patty, a small curry chicken plate with a side of plantains. I actually got way more food than I could imagine. They did give my a curry chicken Patty instead of the jerk, but I didn't mind because the patty was very good in a perfect pastry. Location: Being such a small community, there is no problem finding them. They are right in the heart of town. (I posted the pics). They are only a few minutes from every other part of Jesup. Atmosphere: Because I am from NY, I am very familiar with West Indian restaurants (nonething to do with my father being Jamaican or husband Haitian..lol). So 1 thing I loved about this place is that they not only had food, but they we also a little market..but not really. They have ACKEE! I would never expect to see cans of ACKEE for sale in Jesup GA. So they have alot of the little nuggets like that. COVID: So on their door, it does says masks are required. When you do inside, no masks are worn by the staff. Idk if social distancing is a thing as no one was in there, and we ordered to go. No gloves wear worn, and I didn't noticed sanitizer..but doesn't none was there (sanitizer). Price: I thought the pricing was pretty good. I got a full plate of food for 9 bucks. I also noticed on the window, they have lunch specials including drinks for $4.95. You can't beat that price. Patties 2 bucks...are pretty good. Food: Ok. So the reason I picked this place is because the had Garlic Pan Fried Tofu. I have never seen that before, and based on the description looked good to me. So there are some pics of the food. I will say this...the flavor is there..but the texture...idk. I was hoping from a pan fry that there would be a little crisp on the tofu. Instead it seemed as though it was all cooked in a stew or something. And the rice flavor was there but too soft. In the 2nd pic, I choose not to eat anymore. If I were a meat eater, I would recommend them for a try on a busier day when maybe more consistent cooking is happening. This is a challenge for smaller communities. Food can sit all day until it's sold. Service: The women there were very nice. They shared about the different ppl in the area and how diverse it was. We chatted a bit and they were very friendly. Overall, if I did come back to Jesup, I would probably try the other carribean resturant just because. If that location was closed, I would come again and maybe try something different and hope for the best. They are ok and worth a try to support a location business in Jesup.
