Ordered takeout. The delivery time time via GrubHub was long, over an hour, but we were up for the wait. We ordered Paneer Tikka Masala, Navratan Korma, and Garlic Naan and it was excellent and worth the wait. Horrible Experience!!!!!!!!!!!! Had a terrible experience with them today. I ordered Masala Dosa for my kid, and I got super cold Dosa , filled with a random potato masala with a random CURRY (NOT A SAMBHAR) PLUS a MINT CHUTNEY (never had mint chutney with Dosa). After asking why I get such random thing they said , since we did not have Dosa that time. After a very long day's drive, we arrived at our hotel near Savannah just off 95. Upon checking local restaurants nearby ( we were too tired to drive into town ) we had the usual fast food and chain options and noticed Mithaas Indian cuisine near our hotel with fairly good ratings so we decided to give it a try. It was decidedly a very good choice. Our server, Sam, was very helpful answering our questions to make a good selection. We also enjoyed a relaxing glass of wine while we waiting for dinner. My husband ordered garlic and we each ordered.Palak Paneer which was very good This is a very casual, family oriented restaurant in a local shopping center. The prices are very reasonable. Extremely spicy food when asked for medium. This place is for meat eaters. Dum aaloo was presented differently compared to how I have eaten in the last 15 years. Very different - ok . The person who was the cashier and who served us was very polite. But this is what creeped us out. There was a gentleman with a white golden beard who kept staring at my wife and then at me. Maybe he didn't want us there? I tried to smile and engage but he continued to stare. So it began, a stare off. He finally went away to clean the floor, but it gave us a bad vibe. They had several nice entrees to choose from. I have only been twice to a Indian cuisine restaurant. I tried the vegetable Samosas. I enjoyed them with the tamarind sauce. You get two per order. We tried Mithaas for the first time based largely on its location, previous reviews and extensive menu. The service was good, but the food was a bit of a mixed bag and they were out of many items. No masala chai, no half-chicken tandoori, no kulfi, etc. Butter chicken sauce was tasty, but chicken pieces were dry, etc. Overall, we likely won't return; too many other good Indian restaurants a short drive away. read more

This food was so good! I had never had sookhi sabji before, so it was great to try something new. The staff was friendly and familial and helpful. It was wonderful to discover this oasis in an unexpected setting (it's open until 9:30 even though it's in a quiet, unassuming strip-maill). This place is definitely a gem! The first time I ever have Indian food was a little Indian restaurant in Mobile, Alabama. It's were I fell in love with Indian food. I was just on a vacation there so I haven't gone back since, but I've been chasing that high ever since and I found it here. This is the closest I've come to that first bite of samosas I ever had. These samosas are to die for and the two sauces they pack with them are perfect compliments to them. The green one is cilantro and the brown one (my favorite) is this sweet savory sauce that kinda tastes like a mix of a sweet bbq sauce and soy sauce. Not sure if that's what's actually in it but that's what it reminds me of. I get the chicken curry when I come here and it is always cooked to perfection. I ask for it mild or medium and they always get the spicy level perfect. I've been here 3 times now and the quality has never wavered. The inside is always very clean and organized and the people are always so friendly. You could not ask for better costumer service. They are very grateful for any customer that comes in and it shows! Consider this restaurant for takeout only. The food was pretty good, but nothing extraordinary. The service was horrible. The male greeter put up two fingers when we arrived to indicate "two for dinner"? At first, I thought we must have a language barrier, but realized as time went on, that he certainly spoke enough English for basic politeness. I asked for a glass of wine, which is on the menu, but they don't have wine. The greeter/server (one in the same) didn't give us any other drink alternatives. We were served warm water, no ice. A small restaurant in a nearly-abandoned former outlet mall by the Interstate, you know it will either be really bad or really, really, good. Well, for the most part thankfully it is indeed the latter. A lot of Savannah's Indian population seems to live in this part of town and there is an Indian grocery store across the parking lot in the other portion of the mall, so this is a logical place for an authentic Indian restaurant catering mostly to Indian-Americans. Our food certainly tasted authentic and well-prepared, I had butter chicken and lamb samosas while my friend got a different chicken curry dish and naan. The only issue was, I also ordered a lassi and they forgot it but thankfully I realized this getting into my car so I went back and they got me one. However, I'd also ordered papadum and homemade Indian pickle and they forgot/omitted both these items! We were already home in downtown Savannah by the time I realized this omission so no going all the way back nearly to Richmond Hill for the blasted missing hot pickle, but still annoying. So: I do recommend them on the quality of their food and the nice and welcoming attitude of the owner, but if you get take-away, just make certain everything is actually there. I am impressed they have lamb samosas as well as the much more commonplace potato or chicken ones you see in America. read more

This place has amazing authentic Indian food. We ordered the usual-- garlic naan, butter chicken, curry chicken. The spice was perfect in our dishes. We Found this gem via a Yelp review. For those that are traveling, it is right off the exit in a shopping plaza behind the hotels and gas station. The restaurant has a "diner" feel so it isn't a table cloth Indian restaurant but it is very clean with ample seating and the food is of a quality to rival some of the nicest Indian restaurants I have enjoyed. I don't have a good Indian restaurant near where I live so we hunt for them when traveling. We frequently travel through the Savannah area on our trips. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but this is definitely a nice little spot to curb your craving for authentic Indian food. It's in a nice location and there is a huge parking lot. My boyfriend and I moved to Savannah about a month ago and searched google for Indian Cuisine near us. Of course, at the time it was take out only. Mithaas popped up, so we have it a chance and have been back several times since. Kenny (the owner) is always so welcoming and loves to have conversation (I enjoy it). We love eating a variety of cuisines and we were worried we would have a hard time finding GOOD Indian cuisine in Savannah. I'm glad to say that was not the case. The food is delicious, and the quality and taste has always remained constant. Some of our favorites are the Vegetable Samosas, Garlic Naan, chicken or shrimp tikka masala, chicken korma, lamb curry & lamb madras in medium or extra spicy. They have vegetarian and vegan options for food as well! You will be able to find something for everyone on their menu. I found out today that they recently have been able to open their dining room, and we cannot wait to dine in and try more of the menu. Seating is limited, they have booth and tables but also offer to-go. Mithaas has become one of our favorite places to grab food when we can't decide on dinner or lunch. We will definitely be back. I was excited to have an Indian spot open late and close to me but color me disappointed. It's mostly a take out spot which is fine in my opinion but the majority of dishes I have gotten from here have been subpar. The biryani was the biggest disappointment. Tasted of turmeric and no other spices, not really much in it at all.
