Called this company 5:12pm on 9/4/23. The repair guy showed up at 9am THE NEXT MORNING! SHOCKINGLY fast. Replaced a spring that broke in pieces and replaced a broken mounting. The guy was big, worked quickly and without stopping. Had the door finished in 1 hour 45 minutes. These guys don't mess around. Straight to the job & hustle. Reasonably priced when you account for pricey parts. Conclusion: These guys have a few bad review but I had a first rate experience. read more

I contacted Neighborhood Garage because I found a coupon. They guy came out and said I didn't need a new opener, just new springs. He said charged me $400, saying the springs alone cost $285. Imagine my surprise when I looked at Lowe's and found I could have gotten them for less than $50. Bad on me for not doing my research and trusting the repair guy. Bad on him for ripping me off. I simply must call out this company for their deceptive business practices. In 2018, they installed a Guardian 600SL opener to replace my Genie that lasted 20 years. Nicholas, their technician, said Guardian was top of the line and charged me $506. This past Saturday, the garage door would not open. The courtesy light came on, but the motor would only beep 12 times. Sunday, I researched the symptoms on Google and found it is a known issue with my model. This morning (Monday, August 5, 2024), I called the 800 number on the opener, which was answered by Garage Door Services. They gave me a 12 to 3 window, and Michael from Fox Overhead Doors (new name but same address of 137 Outerbelt St, Columbus, OH 43213) showed up at 2:15 wearing a red United Garage Doors shirt. Now, I had no idea what company I was actually dealing with! Based solely on my description and doing no further diagnostics, Michael said it was a bad circuit board that was covered under the lifetme warranty but would be $300 for his labor to install. I challenged him to explain why the part failed after only six years. He said he replaced 4 boards on the same model in July and that he has never replaced the improved second board. He fixed and reprogrammed my opener in 20 minutes and had me "sign" 5 empty boxes on a phone app, then emailed my invoice after he left with my check. I feel that, based on its experienced rate of failure, ADH Guardian needs to recall the 600SL opener and replace the circuit board for free. I am also reporting my experience to their Northeast Sales Office in Elyria, Ohio, as well as to consumer protection agencies like BBB, AGO, and FTC. I hope whoever reads this will learn from my experience. You can do better! read more

Paid $90 for maybe 10 minutes of service. $40 to spray rollers and springs and lift the door a couple of times. $50 to press a button on the opener to adjust the door stop, took about 1 minute. Then marked everything poor on the safety checklist, with the rollers only being 2 years old and the springs replaced by this company in May of 2023. Total ripoff. read more

I told Michael that I get a noise especially at 5:00 am on my way to work. He saw a little crack and guaranteed me that it is the reason why it gets noisy. I said it's needs to be done and pls do it. He installed a strut and With a $260 bill hopefully it will take care of it. The following day at 5am same scenario. Loud and noisy still. The mystery continues all week. I sent them videos at 5 am and hopefully they can figured it out. Friday comes the same guy showed up and still didn't help at all. It has been two weeks and didn't hear anything from them. So disappointed. I called another company. Bob Vanhoose garage showed up. In no time they were able to help me. He just adjusted something up there and after that it's quiet as ever. I will never inviteNeighborhood garage to come to my house ever again. Bad customer service as well. They never returned my call. It's like going to a garage with a complain bec of the noise in the car but they suggested to change the tires as well but never took care of the noise. Lesson learned. Don't call them. Great experience all together. Called early in the morning, immediately got to talk to a human. Within a couple minutes was off the phone with an appointment. Jeff was my tech, he showed up a couple hours later. He texted me first to let me know he was coming. Finished up replacing the rollers on my garage door in a very short time (less than an hour easily). Also did a once over on everything else while lubricating my hinges and showing my areas that are typically problem areas. Paid and done with a 5 year warranty and I believe was very reasonable price for a rush job (less than $250) that was reported only a few hours earlier. I can't express how grateful I am and what I thought was going to be just another pain in the rear turned out to be super simple and frustration-free. This is a national company that dispatches local technicians to fix your door. They are a middleman so expect to pay a big markup. I called a few companies to get quotes and ended up going with Door Depot because they quoted me 35% less and were much more professional. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Serviceman, Michael, showed up on time and was pleasant and knowledgeable about the system. BUT - he replaced 2 screws and was here for about 20 minutes. The $30 service call turned into a $90 charge (no senior discount as advertised), which included a 3.5% charge for using a credit card (not stated in advance). When I called their office, Chris fast talked me about how the charges were calculated - and when I started asking more questions, he hung up on me. I will never call this company again and will dispute the credit card charge. Finally, the emailed invoice was from Fox Overhead Garage Doors, LLC, so I'm not even sure who I was dealing with. read more

Was told a spring replacement would cost between $150 and $250. Guy shows up says I need to replace basically all the components for $750 which I declined. Then he hit me with a $30 service fee just for showing up WHICH I wasn't told about prior. I said that will get them a one star review. Pretty obvious which was valued more. I then called the company on the opener. They are replacing the rod for $315 total and said most people aren't authorized to fix this model and then they just want to covert it to a different product at twice the cost. Ding! Ding! Ding! They said they would have someone out to my home between 9 am-12 pm (cable guy time estimate right?) and it would most likely be closer to 9 am. Well we waited until 1 pm today and no one showed up. Seen ad for lube and tune up service in mail, scheduled appt. Tech comes out. Remind you my door was opening fine, no complaints other than a little noise. I let the tech inspect door and tells me it'll cost 350$ for new rollers and springs. I tell tech not at this time, I just want the tune up special. I return inside the house and come back out to find my door has fallen off the track. The tech says, wow aren't you glad I am here. I asked for a manager and he basically provided no help, other than telling me if I pay 299$ I can get the door back on track. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Repairman Anthony came out to check my garage door. The senor would not line up properly. First, he stated that the wires need to be replaced. Secondly, he stated that he would have to drill holea and add new wood in the wall so the garage door would not hit the sensor bracket. I told him that there was already wood in the wall and the brackets were already attached. I told him to just extend the bracket. He told me that would not work. I explained to him that the garage worked that the sensor was off. It was just working 3 hours before he arrived. Then Anthony tried to tell me that I needed to place the entire brackets by drilling holes in the walls and loving the brackets. I told him, no you just need to extend the existing brackets. He argued with me about what needed to be done. I showed him what could and needed to be done to remedy the problem. He went and got 2 brackets and extended them as I suggested. If he had listened and stop trying to negatively talk about how the previous installer did it could have been a 15 min job. So finally after the repair, Anthony went into a 10 min ordeal about the cost, not really saying nothing that made since. I have not problem paying for there service call of $20. But then came the nonsense. He tried to tell me my bill would be $259 with a long 10 min explaining and fast talking me of the price. He then quoted me $151 . I told him that the bracket that you installed didnt cost and any more between $8 to $10 if that. I told him I would pay him $105 for coming here on short notice but I would not be paying the outrageous price where he had no clue what he was doing. I proceed to give him my credit card and he got mad and told me he would send me the bill and if I didnt pay the bill, he would make sure he put it on my credit report. I would not EVER recommend this company to anyone. He stated that he was the city manager and gave me all kind of nonsense about how they inventory cost and that's how they do things. Again, this person knows nothing about garage doors. He called himself an expert, nope I can not agree with that. Maybe in some other area of home improvement but not garage door repair. I used this service a little more than a year ago. I admittedly had a problem with the first technician who cam to the house, but I spoke with the management who was apologetic and quickly resolved the immediate issue. However, issue was significant enough to lower the score to 4 stars. This company is focused on replacement of equipment as opposed to making repairs. So be warned not to expect an inexpensive minor repair. But know the work they perform appears to be solid. The new garage door opener we had installed was sturdy and we have had no issues with it since it was installed. It is also notably more quiet and makes far less vibration when operating. When it comes to plumbing, if you can fix it yourself, you can save money doing just that. It really is the same with garage doors. This service is not the cheapest option, but most in-home service is expensive. If you can safely install a garage door, do it yourself and save the money. For then majority of us who can't install a motor, track or spring safely, call for service. One note: This company noticed my concern with my first post, which was posted nearly a year after the job. They offered a refund for a majority of the service as an apology. They were concerned that the problem had not been raised through the correct channels. So while they may not be perfect, they at least are concerned about their reputation. read more

However I was told yesterday someone would be at my house between 3-6. No one showed, no one called. We had other appointments we had rescheduled to be available. I requested lube and tune service for 7/12/2022 The tech was in a rush i was told this will be a 124 point service it ended up with a less than 15 point service less than 10 minutes of work service was for $39.99 i ended up paying $142.69 they give me one new remote garage door opener for $81.82 which is sold at any shop for $29.99 over charged by over 100 % they charge $ 12.95 for recycling disposal /fuel surcharge which is never disclose to me until they send invoice by e mail. So I called the CT office/number and they gave me an appt within a day! Perfect. They were coming between 9-12PM on Friday. That morning received a text, it would be between 2-3PM. OK here goes my day... At 3:15PM I called and asked a status, he said they were running late and would call before they came. No call, no show! Sat at 5PM I get a text that they were coming which I did not see. At 5:15PM, my dog starts barking and someone was in my driveway. I got another text - the guy was here! I told him I was not available and I was done with the company. Just called the CT office this morning and explained what happened. The guy said there was nothing he could do and did I want to talk with Customer Relations? Transferred and got voicemail. I do not recommend this company, at least for CT. read more

I found an add in the Blue Coupon envelope from Garage Door Services for a tune-up for $39.99. I was leery but called. The gal that answered was very nice and informative and set up my appointment, promising I wouldn't pay more than the advertised amount. The repairman showed up on time as scheduled (he called about 40 minutes out. Very nice and knew his stuff. I ended up having him replace the metal rollers with nylon ones (my decision - no pressure from him). Did a great job and was done in about 30 minutes. Had them out to repair garage door. Said all rollers had to be replaced, as well as rubber on bottom of door. I figured as much, but was not expecting the bill I got. Guy was nice, but I was charged $300 for labor!! - when he was only there about 45 minutes. I wasn't even aware of the rate because I never saw a bill until the job was done and they emailed me the invoice the next day - only after I asked for one! (wtf?) I called them and requested a partial refund on the labor cost. Was told it was their going rate for that job. Guess next time I'll ask up front because that is the biggest rip off ever! Also noticed after he left that the rubber was not placed evenly. One side is longer, making other side short. So now I have one side that air gets in. So I was OVERCHARGED for a job that was not done correctly. Hope they read this since they have no place on their website to leave a review. Never again. read more

Yes, it cost a good amount for a new torsion system but it works great and they back their products with a lifetime warranty. I have had nothing but issues since the day my garage door was put up. The door has a ding in it and the response I received when I showed the tech was , "oh well at least it is on the inside." I also had to have them come back because the trim was put up incorrectly. When he came back he just pulled down the same piece of trim and put it up again. There are now gaps in both corners and the wood trim is all scratched up along with the top of my garage and the wood on the side. I have tried to send emails with pictures and have received no response and called several times. I requested that the same tech not come back out because at this point someone else needs to try to complete the work. I had an entire conversation with a manager on Saturday and today some young kid calls being extremely rude cancelling the appointment and saying that the same tech who I had requested NOT come was the one who would be coming. Oh and let me add he laughed through my whole conversation along with his condescending attitude and then couldn't understand why I was upset. I have never received treatment like this from a company who I paid almost $1,000.00 to. I will be filing a complaint against this company with the Attorney General. I do not suggest anyone use this company or you run the risk of having unprofessional service. I honestly did not expect for it to turn out this way because when the tech came out to give the estimate he was very pleasant. But I guess now that the money has been paid I am just stuck with a less than perfect garage door. read more

So far just a 3 star review. The installer nicked 3 insulation panels and I have waited 3 times for replacement panels and had 2 no shows and no calls. One show but no parts. I noted when the garage was installed that the damage was there and the tech agreed and everyone says it's a simple easy job to fix and doesn't even cost much, however I cannot seem to get them to honor their work? The install was fast and professional, but I wasn't planning on taking 3 days from work waiting around for people. Now when I call they don't pick up the phone. I am assuming I am getting blocked. Very unprofessional. Hopefully they will eventually come out and fix the insulation and make things right. read more

Showed up a little earlier than the appointed time which was ok. The springs had to be replaced and I was offered a ridiculously extremely over priced repair for a lifetime warranty to replace both springs, center, and end bearings. All I wanted/needed was for the springs to be replaced. Which is what I got. Initially the wrong spring was installed but very quickly replaced once he realized what had happened. Repairs took a little longer than expected, but in the end springs replaced and the door goes up and down. read more

Had a good call ahead process which allowed me to goto work and come back when the tech was there. Tech had 8 years experience and was good.
