Husband drinking coffee by the pickup counter
    Sahar N.

Best coffee shop in the area by far, not only because they care deeply about the craft of coffee but because they care deeply about their customers, the neighborhood, and community. Neighbors was such a welcome addition to our Woodley Gardens community. We were in need of a locally owned and operated coffee shop in this area and got SO much more when Lulu & Spencer opened Neighbors. From the seasonally curated drinks list to the carefully sourced and brewed beans, everything they do is thoughtful. That extends to their hospitable atmosphere - every barista has tried to learn/remember my name (and I'm trying to learn everyone's as well!). It sounds small but this is what builds community over time - that caring attitude is felt and appreciated by all of us who frequent Neighbors. They also host a monthly book club AND run club, giving those of us in the area another reason to meet up, connect, and be together. It's what we need now more than ever. I feel so lucky to have a place like Neighbors nearby! It's located right across from the park and is often frequented by families with children, friend groups, and more! Lots of seating outside, shared with Z&Z and Carmen's.

Such a welcomed addition to the neighborhood. Love seeing them grow from the farmer's market to an actual store. I've been a few times now and have really enjoyed the lattes. I usually try a seasonal specials (with almond milk) and they haven't disappointed yet. The latest I tried was the Raspberry bliss, which wasn't too sweet and was a great pickmeup. Service is always friendly and fairly quick, especially when there's a long line. They have several tables for you to enjoy your latte/pastry while you chat/work.

    Mango Stick Rice Soda

Came here twice in one week: a weekday after 3PM and noon on a Sunday. The main difference was the wait was longer after 3PM (they close at 4PM) and there were fewer staff. It was much livelier (more customers and staff) on the weekend and the drinks took less than 2 minutes to come out. On a few indoor tables there are no laptop signs and when the weather's nice, the outdoor tables fill up. The staff is very helpful in recommending types of milk that would pair well for certain drinks. The mango sticky rice is a favorite with our family. Matcha, a surprising crunch when you get a bit of the crispy rice, and (not too) sweet refreshing soda. They suggest sipping a bit before stirring due to the carbonation. Next we liked the Sumo Spritz which gives a sweet citrus taste to the coffee. The match in bloom is more floral, and while we liked it, our family favored the other two more.

Neighbors has really grown since opening! Love their vibe and how they are really coming into their own identity! The staff has always been amazing to chat with, even when it's busy. Loving the new bagels and Spring Themed drinks! The Sumo Spritzer is my absolute favorite!

Hands down my favorite spot in the area for a good coffee. I like their seasonal menus and their items are usually not too sweet. They also have beans available for sale onsite. Their coffee is always brewed and served to perfection. It's super cute during the weekends with all the different pop ups and collabs.

    Raspberry Mocha

I tried the seasonal raspberry bliss iced mocha! It's only available on the weekends. I would have preferred it to be a little bit sweeter but the barista was happy to give me a little bit more syrup. But for those who like strong coffee, you'll enjoy it. Plenty of table and chairs inside if you want to get work done here. However, it does get busy on the weekends. There was a long line as I was leaving.

Starting at the farmers market the owners now have a brick and mortar store that gets CRAZY busy on weekends. The staff is amazing and efficient. We were picking up drinks and pastries to bring back. Delicious coffee and very good pastries .

Apple butter latte with house made oat milk
    Nicole O.

On a quest for apple coffee, I jumped at the opportunity to try the apple butter latte at Neighbors Coffee in Rockville. I opted for their house made oat milk which was creamy and blended well with the espresso, local apple cider, house spiced syrup, and house caramel. I left the lid off so I could smell a little bit of apple with each sip. Cozy neighborhood place with slight hipster vibes and good tunes. Surprisingly crowded at 10am on a Thursday and sold out of all baked goods already. Will be back for weekend donuts (Sundays only!)

We got a sumo spritz, recommended by an employee(Rina) Never thought fizzy espresso would taste so good! Matcha in bloom is good too Cozy.

One of the best coffee and matchas shops in MoCo!!!! Love the coffee and matchas, pastries and vibe! The owners are so kind and welcoming. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

    Winter specialty drinks

This is a combined review from two visits, and Neighbors Coffee has been amazing both times. I've tried several of their fall and winter specialty drinks, and every one has been amazing!! The first time i went, I had the pumpkin spice latte, which was subtle with an earthy anise flavor that made it really unique. This time, I tried the caramel sage latte. was hesitant at first, but the sage added such a cozy, unexpected flavor that I ended up loving it. We also got the Baltimore Fog, which tasted like Froot Loops in the best way! The cafe has a cozy but busy atmosphere, clearly popular for a reason, and the staff is always super friendly and welcoming. I love coming here and will definitely be back :)

    A cool looking coffee brewer.

At first, my heart was broken, there were no more banana lattes! This seasonal favorite was gone from the menu. But, then, I looked up and saw the s'mores latte. The s'mores latte has a torched marshmallow topping and drizzle. So, that is what I ordered. Service was great and it was crowded. I waited just a few minutes and my delicious latte was ready to go. The cute, bright, and plant filled cafe was very welcoming. There were a lot of people sitting at the tables. My coffee was rich, with robust flavor with the most delicious marshmallow topping. I have never commented on the coffee beans in one of my reviews, but these coffee beans were very good. The only hiccup for me is the price. It was $8.45 for a small 10 ounce cup. But, you are paying for a specialty coffee and an excellent brew. So, all things considered, I would definitely return.

Great coffee selection and professional baristas! This spot is always busy but it's very understandable why - welcoming, nice vibe and great drinks. I also got a bag of light roast for pour over at home and it's great! I appreciate how much they care for the coffee farmers behind the roast. Also provided "recipe" how to brew which is a great touch of detail! Highly recommend this place for all! They also have tables outside which you can bring your pup there!

My favorite bean from the holiday season was the Cerro Dragon GEISHA - not only absolutely delicious but a great and wonderfully affordable--accessible--gift. Different coffee shops make macchiatos differently. some use mostly steamed milk while others use mostly foam. Instead of explaining how their version is made, the employee responded with, "What do you mean? It's a macchiato," which came across as dismissive and unhelpful. There was also confusion with my order because I was never asked whether it was for here or to go. Part of the order was prepared in a to-go cup while another part was prepared for dine in. When I politely asked if everything could be put into a to-go cup, the employee replied, "Can't you just chug it?" and appeared visibly annoyed by the request. What concerned me most was how the drink was handled afterward. The employee took the cup, held the lid in the area where customers place their mouths, carried it to the back, and returned with the coffee transferred into the cup. Watching someone repeatedly handle the drinking surface with bare hands was not something I expected from a food service establishment. Mistakes happen, but the combination of dismissive responses, poor communication, an unprofessional attitude, and questionable drink handling practices left a negative impression. I hope management addresses these issues, as customer service and basic hygiene should be priorities at any coffee shop.

The high ceilings gave the shop a light and airy feel. This probably isn't the best place to study or work since the sounds of voices bounce off the walls. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I ordered an iced strawberry fields matcha latte and a blueberry muffin. I think I was accidentally given a mixed berry muffin, but it wasn't a big deal. It was still delicious. The matcha, when I received it, was also very good and I really enjoyed it. My one gripe is that it took 25 minutes to receive my drink. While waiting, I noticed that the two individuals handling the food were rock stars. They got orders out very quickly and efficiently, and I had my muffin in less than five minutes. I also noticed the number of other patrons waiting for long periods of time. People who placed orders after I did received their coffee drinks, so I was confused. When my name was finally called, I noticed that three matcha drinks were ready at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand the barista making the numerous matcha orders at the same time, but the 25-minute wait seemed quite excessive. There was a steady stream of customers, so it was busy, but not insanely busy. Again, I enjoyed everything about River Bottom Roasters except for the long wait for drinks.
