District Cafe Mizell Station's Mini Raspberry Danish paired well with my Oat Latte
    Mike R.

Went with my aunt to this absolutely pleasant District Cafe Mizell Station adjacent to the Kensington MARC train station. Sunny with many windows and artwork, it also had outdoor seating. (From my understanding, it's in a renovated old gas station.) We also each had an enjoyable, fresh Mini Raspberry Danish to accompany our coffees, mine an Oat Latte. The easygoing barista was extremely friendly and accommodating. District Cafe is definitely worthwhile stopping at when nearby. Expect we'll also go back!

Cozy cafe located in Kensington, indoor seating with additonal seating in the back room as well as outdoor seating area. Doggy friendly; a jar full of cookies ready for fidos. Friendly and smiley people behind counter, drinks were made perfect and croissant was delivered warm and toasted. Will definitely be back here again. I know my pup loved it! lol

I went here a year ago and it popped up in my memories, I had to take video of the place because it is so cute and I enjoyed it! I got the Vietnamese iced coffee and that was my first time ever having it, I loved it and have been searching for something just as great close to me! Service was fast! It's right next to a small train station I believe, and there's a parking lot on the side of the building.

A favorite little spot with great coffee, excellent pastries, and lovely staff. There recently been hosting a rotation of art from area artists which tl elevates the space even more. It's a favorite of mine to work in and I love that it's also super close to a Kensington Park for a short walk or kiddo outlet.

This was a delightful little new coffee shop in the heart of downtown Kensington. Just a stones throw from great bakeries and the Saturday farmers market. I really enjoyed our grab and go experience here. The staff was all very friendly and the menu was straight forward. They also had a great selection of baked goods like potato leek croissants and a few other fun creations. They offer a handful of indoor and outdoor tables with lots of natural light pouring into the space. Overall, a delightful experience.

Cute little shop. Easily found parking. No wait when I ordered and my drink came out fast. Got an iced lavender latte which was good.

I recently picked up a small Lemon cake and a Strawberry cake from Morning My Day in Silver Spring…read more I was expecting a decent dessert; I wasn't expecting to be reminded that most other bakeries have been lying to us for years. The first bite was a bit of a shock to the system. It's one of those rare "Ratatouille moments" where a flavor profile manages to bridge the gap between Maryland and the legendary sponge cakes of Phoenix Bakery in LA. It's a bit of a trick, really--making something taste like a childhood memory without being cloying about it. The Breakdown: * The Sponge: It's exceptionally light. Biting into it is less like eating a dense dessert and more like biting into a sweetened, high-end pillow. It's airy, delicate, and possesses the kind of structural integrity that only a professional (or a wizard) could manage. * The Icing: A triumph of restraint. Instead of the usual sugary plaster one finds elsewhere, this is a light, white cream. It's sweet enough to let you know it's there, but it doesn't try to dominate the conversation. It's icing with a bit of dignity. * The Verdict: This is how cake ought to be. It's exquisite, technically brilliant, and far too easy to eat in a single sitting. If you appreciate a dessert that relies on craft rather than a massive dose of corn syrup, do yourself a favor and stop by. It's a legit bit of baking excellence right here in Silver Spring

I came to try this bakery after seeing it promoted on Instagram as an authentic Asian-style bakery…read more I miss the Japanese bakeries I would frequent often when living in Japan a few years ago, and this one definitely brought back those memories. The interior is cute and on display were a variety of Asian-style baked goods and some minimal seating. The couple who runs the store seemed busy but rang me up relatively quickly. I got the ube twist and melon pan. The ube twist was really delicious -- I'd highly recommend it. The melon pan was disappointing; I expect a crunchy cookie crust on melon pan and this one was sticky and soft. The bread itself was super plush and soft and amazing, so it would be great if they could improve upon it with a crunchier cookie crust. The bread items were $3-4 each, so not the cheapest, but I was happy to support a local Asian bakery.

I saw the video and knew it was going to have phenomenal pour overs and espresso drinks. Since the cafe only opens on Saturdays from 8-1, I knew I had to make an effort to stop by despite the 30+ minute drive. Unfortunately, many other people had the same exact idea as me, and the staff was definitely overwhelmed by the popularity. There was a long wait for espresso drinks (at least 30 minutes). All bags of beans were sold out (I'd recommend ordering online and picking up or getting it delivered in the future). POUR OVER / DRIP - 5.35 By the time I ordered, they were out of most pour over options so I tried the Costa Rica Cumbres del Poas since I wanted a fruitier coffee. Fortunately, the wait for pour overs was pretty short, about 10 minutes. The flavors were fruity, but not overwhelmingly so, with a lighter mouthfeel. The pour over was a bit more diluted than I'm used to, but I still enjoyed it greatly. CORTADO - 4 After a 45 minute wait, I finally got my cortado. This has got to be one of the best cortados I've had in the DMV. The espresso was bright and fruity and paired well with the steamed whole milk. It was definitely worth the wait! If Nagadi was closer, I can see myself going 1-2x a month. I'd highly recommend this coffee roaster to any coffee snob looking for high quality coffee in the area.
