Parking - lots of free parking near Outdoor walk through option available for those that have dogs and want to order / pick up from outside. Atmosphere - great to come hangout with friends, family or by yourself to get some work / reading done. Washroom - the toilets don't flush well and it wasn't the most clean washroom I've seen.. Costs - ranges from $5.99-$13+ depending on what you order.. may be costly for a drink but it's yummy & fresh fruit! What an incredible operation! Great menu, lots of options, high quality ingredients, GF options (yay for me!), and facility is clean and inviting. Not sure if it was the owner who gave me a sample of the peanut butter granola and peanut butter chia pudding, but it was a perfect helping just "to try" and, wow, but my heart was warmed when a person of need walked into the place and she she handed him a banana. It was clear that the interaction was routine, but she had no problem giving him something to eat and it made me so joyous to see such a charitable thing. She also spoke to him like a person, not as someone that would be less because he has less. Clearly this place is run by a good person too. I got the raspberry açaí bowl and it was one of- if not the BEST açaí bowls I've ever had! I asked for no bananas and there was a mix up where I was given a bowl with them on top but I didn't even need to let the worker know my order was wrong because she immediately realized and made me a new one. My daughter from California is in town and this is my first time trying an açaí bowl--outstanding! She got the dragon bowl (which I tried and it was very good), and I got the peanut butter bowl (also very good). I was skeptical about having an açaí bowl for a meal because I'm more of a meatatarian. But my pb bowl was pretty filling--loved all the fresh fruit. The staff has always been super friendly, the location is convenient and I love the little pick up window on the sidewalk which is perfect if you want to enjoy your items at their outdoor tables. I preordered 20 mins prior to arrival, and still had to wait an additional 25 minutes. I had already prepaid or I would have left. I also had a similar experience last year. Won't be going back. While the drinks are ok at best the prices are crazy high and they take forever. I've gone there 3 times now and I've never waited less then 20 min for a smoothie. Best of all, if you don't have time to wait, download the app. It's so convenient and easy, you can schedule your order and it's ready and waiting when you walk in! Once you try it you will be hooked! You also accumulate rewards and earn free smoothies on the app. My favorite smoothie is the Tropical Cooler, it's made with coconut water and it's filling but light. I also love Popeyes Acai made with homemade cashew milk. The power shots and juice cleanse drinks are also very good and easy to grab and go. The almond cranberry bar is soo good! Our son, Parker took a summer job at Nekter and it's been such a great experience, he has continued working throughout the school year. I tried to come to this place twice and give it the benefit of the doubt but both experiences were not good. First time the açaí bowl taste bitter and it took a while. Second time we ordered again açaí bowls and they took 30 minutes. I've been to several Nekter locations around the nation and this is by far the worst one. I love Nekter and I think the food is great! But this one just baffles me. The food is okay and if you want a quick eat this is the last place you should go. I wait 10 minutes max at the other locations and that's when it's busy. When I come to the Barrington location I have consistently waited 30 minutes plus for my bowl even when I'm the only person in the store! I don't get it! I could go to the grocery store, get all the ingredients, make the bowl at home, and go for a mile run in the time it takes them to make a bowl. A nicer employee saw that my order was actually ready and had been sitting there. Then I hear the rude employee stomp into the back saying "why don't people have patience." They've been known to have slow service in the past so I've turned to mobile ordering ahead of time on the app. Today, I waited 20 minutes past when I arrived, making it a total of 45 minutes from when I ordered, for a single bowl. They didn't even call out my order, so who knows how long it had been sitting there & would've continued to until I went to ask about it. It is so wonderful to have a healthy alternative to the overly sweetened drinks from Starbucks and the like! These are such better ingredients and come on--let's support the "mom-n-pop" shops! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you want your smoothie a little sweeter just ask for it they're happy to add a natural sweetener like banana or pineapple.
