As you walk in the door, you immediately see all of the fresh made pops from creamy ice creams to pure fruit pops. It's almost too yummy to describe it's definitely mouthwatering. Don't pass this new shop up run right in there scoop up some Paleta's and take them home or have something made in a takeout bowl or cup. This restaurant is a true dessert frenzy. You can also please the adults for a little bit more money and a lot more toppings and sauces!! This is a perfect treat for the El Paso heat. Don't pass this one by it's as much fun to go inside and look at the colors and how well the little Dessert Restaurant is done as it is to order and devour their luscious desserts. I'm honestly really frustrated with some of the service I've experienced at the Sonic locations…read morearound here. Today, I pulled up to the drive-in and all I wanted was a large caramel shake. That's it. A very simple three-word order. Somehow, I had to repeat myself five times before the employee understood what I was asking for. He asked if I said strawberry. I said no. Then he asked if I meant caramel with strawberry. Again, I said no. At that point, I genuinely didn't understand how a simple order of "large caramel shake" had become so confusing. And just to be clear, this wasn't a situation where there appeared to be a language barrier. That wasn't the issue at all. It seemed more like the employee was trying to listen to me while also listening to someone else or dealing with something else at the same time. He kept saying he didn't hear me, so eventually I had to slow down and practically spell out the order. What made it even more frustrating was that there weren't even a lot of people there. I completely understand that mistakes happen and that employees can get overwhelmed, but having to repeat such a simple order five times is excessive. After I finally placed my order, I waited for 15 minutes--and I had already paid. While I was waiting, I could see that there were quite a handful of employees inside, which made the delay even more frustrating. I understand that food and drinks take time, but waiting that long for a shake after already paying is unreasonable, especially when the restaurant didn't appear to be busy. Hopefully management can work on improving communication, attentiveness, and service speed when taking and preparing orders. Customers shouldn't have to struggle this much just to order a shake, then wait 15 minutes to receive it. At least the outside of the area looks pretty decent don't know what kind of chaos or an organization is happening on the inside is you're only allowed and only so far

I've seen this place in passing plenty of times. But it wasn't till I walked in that I remembered, "that's right--they're famous for mixing their ice cream toppings on a countertop!" Yeah. Like, RIGHT on the countertop. Or it could have been a cutting board of sorts, I'm not sure. Aaaaanywho.. Obviously, they have more flavors than Baskin Robbins and the grocery store combined. Same with the toppings. And...I ain't gonna lie; I definitely saw some flavors there I wouldn't mind trying. Most of which involve Reese's peanut butter in just about every form you could possibly imagine. It's just a shame that I don't really eat sweets anymore. Or when I do, it's extremely rare. Still, if El Paso can't have a Friendly's (y'all westerners don't know), we may as well have a Cold Stone. I hereby grant them 4 chocolate mint tubs with M&Ms mixed in out of 5. Highly recommend!
