I like Sonic and usually used to go a lot when I was in South Carolina; it's delicious, especially the Milkshakes, but this Sonic, really sucks. I ordered a Milkshake, and they gave me milk with Oreo sprinkles like it was not cold; I would call it Oreo soup. Not even the ants would eat it. They make me doubt the whole concept and what I understand about Milkshake. I just got home and threw it inside the trash, like the worker overlooked it. Instead of doing something so disgusting, why don't you do it like McDonald's and say that your machine doesn't work, but no, they think it was a good idea to give milk with Oreo sprinkles or, better name, Oreo soup. K, I'll be honest...I've never really eaten at a Sonic Drive-In before. Which, considering we routinely get my son food from there, may seem slightly ironic. But on this occasion, I wanted to try something specifically for the sake of testing out their mobile ordering. And my Gawd is it abysmal! Let me explain in 5 simple words: they don't have mobile ordering. See, they have a mobile app...which you can use to pay for your food, view their menu and check-in. But you can't....order...from the...app...gawddammit this makes no friggin sense! Why is this is so hard? McDonald's has mobile ordering. Starbucks has mobile ordering. Even frickin Red Lobster has mobile ordering! So, Sonic is tailor made for this very concept. Instead, you have to painstakingly drive up to the drive-in (80s style), order your food like smartphones aren't a thing, THEN...you have the option to pay for your food with the app...with a code you have to give to the drive-in teller. Vocally. The f*ck?! But you're probably wondering how the food was, right? Well, I ordered two breakfast burritos. I'll cut right to the spoilers and just tell you they make the taquitos from Whataburger look like fine dining. Because the eggs were slightly scorched in both burritos. Not to mention the bacon and egg one somehow had LESS flavor than the potato, egg and cheese burrito. My tastebuds were seriously confused. Ah well. At least I can say I got that experience over with. Oh, I also tried some mozzarella sticks because "da fam" claimed they were the best ever. Too bad you have to ask for marinara sauce (yeah..it doesn't automatically come with it). So, I heated up some tomato sauce from the house instead. They were actually pretty good. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and all through my pregnancy I've been craving slushes! I make my husband get me one constantly but we always have issues with our order and it being wrong. I usually let it slide because stuff happens. Well yesterday he brought us home some slushes and they had black things in them... now I love eating my slushes with a spoon so I noticed some little black specs but didn't think much of it at first, maybe it was stuff from another drink or something. Then I got towards the bottom and there was a big, black rubbery piece of material... about the size of my thumbnail. Definitely wasn't food... my husband got so scared of me finishing the slush that he threw it away quickly. Okay fine I won't drink it, no big deal. So he gave me his slush instead. Well, same thing happened. I dove into his half drunken slush with my spoon and there was more black stuff in it. He swore it was pieces of rubber based off how they felt. I visit this Sonic location routinely due to its close location to my home. It is located across the El Dorado High School. I have always had great customer service here, whether it is drive thru or just through the drive in. My food is always prepared the way I order them and always arrives on time. In addition, the staff here is very friendly! I am an addict to their tater tots with chili and cheese! They are DELICIOUS AND ADDICTING! I am trying to get fit for summer, but I am always craving these tots! I also love their large variety of drinks, shakes and treats. I also have to talk about their onion rings, they are soo goood! Ive had them at other fast food places, and must say that Sonic tops all of them! Their new boneless chicken wings are also delicious! My favorite is their Asian zing boneless wings, very yummy, not too spicy, not too sweet but just perfect. Overall, great location, great food, and fun staff! It's been a while since coming to the location but this visit was unfortunately terrible starting with ordering through the speaker which I'm not sure if he couldn't hear me or maybe something else ordered a #1 with no ketchup. When I got my order I noticed they slapped every sticker they had basically signifying that my burger was just buns meat and mayo. Upon opening the wrapper that is exactly what it was, there was no veggies! When I saw the tots I noticed they were not golden brown but light colored and when I bit one it was like they just took them out of the freezer and warmed them up. I ordered from the mobile app for pickup, because it's supposed to be faster. I always like to think that maybe the next time it will be better, but for some reason something is always missing from my order. No matter how busy or not they are. Frankly it's a little off putting. This last time not only did it take thirty minutes to get my food but I was missing a meal, when I asked the young lady about it she seemed kind of bothered by it. I ended up just going to the drive thru and getting it. I understand how tensions are high right now because of the virus but I was wearing a mask and it's not like I was gonna cough in her face! Yes, it's a Sonic...and because it's fast food and for reasons of conscience, I cannot give it more than 3 stars. Any restaurant that has the majority of their menu deep-fried or frozen before preparation cannot get more than 3 stars, unless the food is unbelievable. And the food here is average but not bad. There are just two cons with Sonic that I could think of; the inconsistency of custom-ordered drinks that are not 'menu-standard'(like ordering a cranberry-strawberry-lemon fresh fruit slush and having it taste differently each time); or how the Sonic Blasts (ice cream with toppings blended thru) sometimes come with toppings only and just a cup of ice cream (a ripoff for $3 and up, depending on size). The pros do outweigh the cons, though. Managers and employees alike are quick to remake any drinks not to your liking, or credit you accordingly. The service is fairly quick and they have a wide assortment of sweet, salty, soft, crunchy and tasty treats, plus a couple of healthy options. And where else are you gonna go at 1am on a weeknight to satiate your sweet tooth or grumbly tummy? The menu at Sonic has something for everyone, and they are open early, and stay open late. Once in a great while, when a mistake is made and it is caught at the window, a manager might give you a 'poker chip'--this is redeemable for a free medium cherry limeade (my favorite drink at Sonic); I own 9 of these (I use these as card makers in my poker games sometimes). Yes, it IS a testament to the fact that they make mistakes (and whom amongst us does not?) but, more importantly, it testifies to Sonic's spirit that they will make sure your order is right, and they will make it right if it's not done properly. They smashed my food. I ordered 3 of the Kings Hawaiin Clubs, 2 chicken and 1 beef. The beef burger had been smashed so thin it was less than an inch thick. The chicken clubs were barely an inch tall had it not been for a thick patty. My two large orders of onion rings crumbled apart in their bags.
