I had a very disappointing and frightening experience. My son has a severe cashew allergy, and before ordering I specifically asked if the waffle contained cashews. The employee repeatedly assured me that it did not. I even read the ingredient information from the board to her, but she continued to insist there were no cashews. After eating the waffle, my son had a serious allergic reaction and began having difficulty breathing. We had to take him to the emergency room for treatment. Food allergies are a serious matter, and staff should be properly trained to provide accurate ingredient information. This situation could have had much more severe consequences. I hope management takes this issue seriously and improves allergy awareness and customer service training. read more

Beware of this location!!! The girls here do not care about service or your order. Neither does management. I come on my lunch break from work. I place an online order so I can easily come grab it so I have time to actually sit and eat, but every time, something is wrong and I'm left without what I want. The first time I came, I placed my order 10 minutes before (I know it takes 15 minutes) and they told me they didn't have avocado for the protein waffle so would only make the smoothie bowl. I asked for a refund and they said oh managers aren't here for a few days so I can't do anything until they are here. (I never got the refund). Whatever, I asked her if it would be a couple minutes or if I had time to go grab something and she made a rude snarky remark that it would be a while longer. By the time I came back about 5 minutes later, my order was sitting in condensation pretty much melted. She refused to look at me and was overall so extremely rude. This time that I came today, I asked about my order and they couldn't find it. I then realized it got sent to the wrong location. That's totally fine and not their fault at all, so I took the monetary loss and re made my order exactly as it was listed on my receipt. It was frustrating I had to wait since I only had so long, but again not their fault. However, when I finally get my order 15 minutes later, it isn't the bowl I ordered!!!! When I ask her what it was she went "um you ordered this one" and I went no I read to you what I wanted and then showed her my phone. She didn't have a response and noticeably did not care. I went alright well just keep this then because I can't eat it. So then I lose out on 2x the money for one day because they don't care enough to pay attention. When I turn around, the workers are all huddled around laughing at me. So I don't get the order I wanted and then I get laughed at?? Also, not to be that person, but their work apparel is extremely inappropriate. Both time some of the girls are just wearing bottoms that genuinely look like swimsuit shorts and that's pretty ridiculous too. They are rude, don't care that you are spending money to eat there, and do not care about your time. Judgmental bullies that truly just give off the exact definition of "mean girls" I love nekter, but will never spend my money here again. I'm finally getting to review this place. I don't complain a lot. I'm easy to satisfy. I'm from the south and grew up with very little so I don't require a lot; but common courtesy and respect are things we should not have to think about. About 2 months ago I ordered on the app. I was nearby so I decided to order here. I ordered from multiple locations before, including this one, but this time it was different. About 45 minutes later I arrived. I stood in line and the girl ignored me and served the other customers, even the ones coming in. She finished serving others and continued to ignore me and not even acknowledging I was standing. She went back to her station, prepping and cleaning. After waiting for some time, the guy from the back upfront and asked if he could help me. My order was ready but the girl didn't want to help me. Not sure what I did but it was weird and this was the first time it happened. Never been back at that location again. Instead I went to my go-to location in Carlsbad where the team there seem to be friendly. I just checked my app and I went to the San Marcos location on 10/11 end of the day around 5p. I believe another customer Maria W had a similar experience. This is not the Nekter experience I'm accustomed to. I can recall in the past when there were issues with app ordering. When it happened, I received a call or email from corporate. So I know Nekter is responsive and caring. This person at the San Marcos location wasn't. I give it 3 stars due to the guy who was very kind in helping me and the smoothie was still good. read more

We really like Nektar and our family has been regulars for years. The bowls and smoothies are great but the ordering ahead experience at this location is very unreliable. On a good day, orders are about 5 minutes late which is fine. Too often they are 15 to 20 minutes late. Today I ordered at 8:00am for an 8:16 pickup. I got there at 8:19 and my order was not ready until 8:32. At that point the app does not save time, which is the main reason to use it. When we lived near Carmel Mountain that location was always on time so it is possible to do better. Love the bowls here but I cannot rely on the app anymore. read more

The taste was excellent. Totally as advertised, if not better. The Popeyes acai smoothie came with acai, banana, blueberries, spinach, housemade cashew milk, and agave. All blended together perfectly. The taste was fantastic. Definitely will order the superfood smoothie again in the future. Absolutely love how they have an assortment of fresh fruit hanging behind the register. Limes, pineapple, cucumbers, pomegranate, bananas, apples, oranges and more. This was my first time at a Nekter, after hearing so much about it from my friend who was born and raised in OC. Stopped by before an important interview in the morning, and was pleased to see so many parking spots in their plaza. This Nekter is located in a big plaza with many other restaurants and businesses, which makes for a great place to hang out or even grab and go. I had a bit of time, so got my free ginger shot (YAY YELP) and the Popeye's acai smoothie which was SO yummy because it was based with green nutrients and acai. Delish. With my nut allergy, I requested that they change the cashew milk to some other base, and they offered options like juice or coconut milk. I went with coconut milk, and the smoothie ended up tasting delicious. The consistency was thick and frosty, not too frozen...making it easy to sip! The ginger shot was fantastic and spicy--exactly what I needed to jumpstart my big day. The best part of my morning was the friendly and smiley service at Nekter. As a chain, I thought this was going to be another generic Jamba Juice experience. But although the shop is set up in a similar bright and colorful way...down to the fresh citrus and bright aromas, the service was so sweet and the gals working the cashier and making the treats were genuinely kind and made sure I enjoyed my orders. So, I traded vodka shots for ginger shots and came to Nekter Juice Bar. I checked in, received that young yelp check-in offer (FREE GINGER SHOT- eyyyyy), and ordered the POPEYE'S AÇAÍ which included: açaí, banana, spinach, housemade cashew milk, blueberries and agave nectar blended with ice (330 / 480 cal). The 16oz. sized cup was reasonably priced at $6.50, and it was exactly what my body needed after my reckless weekend. It was like a perfect remedy pill to get well soon! The drink itself was refreshing, it was smooth and easy to consume. I was glad to have ordered the smoothie, I love the cold. The flavors were a nice combination! Healthy but DELICIOUS, the blueberries added a level of sweetness that would have been missing had they not been included. I loved it! Staff was very friendly, the area was very nice, bright, and clean. They had plenty of seating available, but most customers grab + go, I noticed. They also offer restrooms, which can always come in handy. I will definitely coming back to make some better, healthy decisions for myself and my body. Nekter has been one of my personal favorites for years. Today I tried the San Marcos location and was extremely disappointed. I was greeted by a younger gal who was sweet and patient. I ordered the peanut butter acai bowl. I asked for almond butter instead of PB and paid extra. Once it was finished an older woman delivered mine and a friends bowl. I asked him a quick question while she asked me a question, upon hearing hers I said I'm so sorry what was that? She asked again do you need a bag, and as I said no thank you she gave me a disgusted look as if I just said the most disturbing thing in the world. She was rude, walked away, and I didn't even get my 1$ extra almond butter. Scared to go back in because I get the movie "waiting" vibes from her. Not coming back to this one.
