Although Nellie's has a fairly bad reputation for health code violations, I personally haven't had any bad visits. The food is ok and the atmosphere is cool, plus service is always good. The value isn't great but as an independent location it's as good as could be expected. Their menu offers many different choices and my kids absolutely love the place. Sometimes it's a little busy, but if you've never been I'd give it a chance regardless of the wait. 21/30 read more

Pathetic. Not only was our food completely bland/overcooked/ missing key ingredients, the service was completely terrible. We literally waited the best part of an hour to get to even GIVE our order (despite flagging down staff and saying we wanted to order NOW twice before the waitress bothered to come by). They then left my Mum's meal sitting on the counter without delivering it for about 10 minutes. They also forgot part of the order my Dad made. The bathrooms were filthy; my shoes literally were sticking to the floor in there. As my sister put it; it might be right around the corner from her house, but we're never going there again! read more

Missed it by a hair - the one that was in my breakfast. No need to spend any more time on a review. If you want breakfast there are plenty of other places nearby. Pâtisserie Du Soleil in Woodbine is far superior for both food and service. Do yourself a favour and forget about Nellie's. They have had food code violations and are either unwilling, or unable, to clean up their act. read more

My boyfriend and I started coming here when we moved to the area in 2017. Since then it quickly became our favourite breakfast place - the food is always amazing, the prices are fair, and the staff are all friendly, courteous and helpful. As someone with celiac disease it is always hard to find restaurants with a variety of options for myself, Nellie's goes above and beyond in this category - not to mention that the times I have forgot to order gluten free, the staff all recognize me and my food comes gluten free regardless. read more

Went for lunch on a Tuesday at 1. The server was friendly and efficient. Soup of the day - red pepper - was delicious. The rest of our experience was only okay and overpriced for the quality of food they offer. Half sandwich on our soup and sandwich menu choice was average. It comes with a half of a brownie which was the size of a piece of cake - dry and tasteless. The poached eggs on the Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly, but there was very little ham or Hollandaise sauce and the English muffin wasn't toasted. Their hashbrowns are flat with no seasoning and were cold. Quite honestly, next time we are going to the Subway in the same strip mall. The good will be better for half of the price. read more

Three of us went to Nellie's for breakfast/lunch and enjoyed it very much. The hamburger was very tasty and tasted homemade and the pancakes were almost plate-size - there were two of them! We all enjoyed the meals and service was wonderful. We had never been to this location and it's bright and colourful. I gather it has been renovated. Dined at Nellie,s a couple of weeks ago,. Food was good, told wife. She took me to Nellie's Sunday August 20th. Total disappointment to say the least. Her Potatoes were stone cold, and her poached eggs were less than poached. I asked for breakfast sausage and eggs. My eggs were runny after being asked for over easy, AND the sausage was a BANGER cut in half. And my spuds were also cold and the toast was poorly buttered. I called the owner and made my complaint. She said Breakfast sausage Too Much Money. Then only offered so sorry you have bad experience. Don't think that we will be back. read more

I recently went to Nellie's with a few friends and it was okay. I was not overly impressed with the food and the service was very slow (but it was Sunday morning and very busy). The food was just ok. Nothing special and I believe portions getting smaller with more potatoes and less sausage/fruit etc in the Ukrainian Break the Fast. Coffee was nothing special. Kinda watery. Bagel was burnt. And my daughter told me there was a beetle in the bathroom sink (hope it was just a beetle). She just wanted to go. I guess the new management has not been able to replicate the original Nellie's food and feel. I'd recommend driving south on 24 th till you hit the Safeway in Woodbine. They have two much better Breakfast places in that strip mall. One a crepe place and the other a French place. read more

Horrible service from the beginning... Waitresses didn't offer water or coffee refills. They brought our food at the beginning and we didn't see the server again. Will not be going back...also, the food was horrible! read more

I remember Nellies on 90th being this charming kitschy restaurant and looked forward to returning for a delicious generous breakfast. I quickly realized this restaurant was under new management. Drink order was offered and served immediately but I was soon forgotten. There were 4 tables being served, this was at 11:30 am. I waved the server down and ordered the eggs Benedict with spinach which comes with melon and orange and home fries. The eggs were beautifully cooked and the hollandaise was light and tasty. The spinach was not quite raw and not quite cooked and quite stringy. The potatoes were laden with seasoning salt. Couldn't eat them. Couldn't catch the servers eye to tell her about the potatoes until I finally had to hail her for the check. There was absolutely no connection between customer and server and no comment when I explained the over salting. Over all I left feeling that the pride and character of the Nellie's on 90th I remember is gone and a very mediocre diner has taken its place. I won't be back. My bill was $16.01 plus gratuity. Waste of time and money. Very disappointing. read more

It wasn't busy at all when I went (3 other tables tops) yet I didn't see my waitress for 20 minutes after she dropped off my drink. My food came out quickly and was pretty good, however the waitress didn't write down my order so she got some of it wrong, and didn't come check on me until I had finished eating. Well as soon as I was done eating she didn't take my plate away, just brought me my bill- with the extra charges for stuff I didn't get- and immediately brought the machine over. I asked her if she could take off the extras since I didn't get them and she rolled her eyes at me but did so. Overall, not impressed with the service at all, the only reason I even gave this location 3 stars was for the food. read more

My bf, friend and myself decided to go to Neillies in Kensington as I've heard so much about it. Well. We waited 20minutes for a table, then once seated, 15minutes for service. Once our orders were taken, it took them over 75minutes to complete our meals. The waitress that served us gave off a bad vibe and made me very uncomfortable, also once we finally got our food I was absolutely disappointed. The meal I ordered and the meal I received were not the same by any means. In the meal I ordered it said 2 sausages and hash browns. I received one quarter cut of a sausage that was cut in half and huge, hard to eat, soggy potatoes that had a bad taste that no amount of salt or Frank's red hot sauce could fix. Also my bf paid for bacon that he never received. My eggs were snotty and I barely finished me meal. went on a sunday for breakfast. we just missed the rush as shortly after we were seated there was a line out the door. it's a cute little place but very cramped. we were at a small table being only 4 of us but there was very little room between us and the people on either side. so not much for privacy or noise. its has a bit of a 50's style to it which I thought was cute. the food was good. I had the French toast and it was cooked perfectly. the coffee was refilled as needed and service was quick. really besides the atmosphere I got no complaints. read more

Ordered belly buster. Comes with pancakes. Server broght full plate and empty side plate. As she asked uf i was good said 9h and heres your butter and dropped 3 butter packets onto my eggs. Was shocked. Started to eat egg the butter didnt touch and realized it was sitting on "powdered" pancakes so i was dine with eggs. Waitress ssked if all ok and i told her. She spoke to person who took my order and who also seemed i charge. Neither spoke to me. As plate was cleared i was asked if i wamted eggs to go and i said id already told someone they were inedible. She put bill on my table. Turned it over and it was fullamount. Got to till and original server took my bill and started entering the payment. I told her i reported my food and how server handled butter. She said "we ensure their hands are sanitized" (BS). When i mentioned eggs on powedered pancake ruined them her answer was "thats the way we serve eggs" adding and "you ate them". I answered no food should be served from servers hand onto my food and reminded her server picked up my uneaten food. Then she finally clued in and said "oh i overcharged you". The amount already ran through $19.00 so i said nevermind and said i wont be back. If they treat customers like that when obvious breaches or when you complain about half eaten meal, imagine what goes on when no one is looking? read more

Went for breakfast there this morning, there was no wait and we sat down, We were grabbed drinks immediately, though I was a little wary when she approached the table with our waters under her armpits and fists filled with creamers, I gave her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she couldn't find a tray. We then waited about 10 minutes to order, I have worked in the industry my whole life so I understand Saturdays are busy and I'm not the only person waiting for service. I ordered the Nellies hash and asked for my eggs poached soft, unfortunately my eggs arrived rock hard, probably to match the raw potatoes. I waited for a few minutes and decided to flag over the waitress she apologized and took it back to the kitchen, which I appreciated. I was then brought back the same plate.. with the hard eggs I'd just cut open still sitting on top, I was then given two soft eggs on a side plate where I had to add them on top and take the old ones off myself. I have never seen any server or restaurant plop your plate in front of you for you to put together yourself. My unseasoned, uncooked potatoes had been sitting on the pass for a few minutes though and had become a soggy, congealed mess, I ate the two poached eggs and pushed the rest to the side. Then was handed my bill for my meal. Incredibly disappointed with the poor quality food and awful service. read more
