First experience with the Exchange and it was great. Goal was to see if hubby and I could find a good deal on a new stove. I knew we would find more while walking around each department too. Upon entering the store is very bright clean and very organized. They have everything you can imagine you could want or need for your home to personal needs. We made our way to the appliance department and found the stove we wanted. Kimberly helped us with our transaction and she was fantastic . Sunday, April 6, 2025: This is an impressive base exchange, which rivals MCX at Camp Pendleton, CA. Unfortunately, the BX at March ARB was shut down so most now go to Camp Pendleton, Miramar MCAS or the NEX at the 32nd Naval Station at San Diego. Upon entering, there is a food court to the right and other little shops before approaching the main entrance to the BX. We were surprised how bright and expansive it is! They offered a great variety of clothes, accessories, sports gear, shoes, garden supplies, etc. We scored some very nice pots at great prices so we loaded up. Purchasing items is an excellent value since there is no tax added. I couldn't believe they also offered high end bags like Louis Vuitton, Brahmin, Coach, etc. We purchased some toys & shirts for our grandson and hubby got new shoes. Check out was quick & friendly. We will be sure to visit again when in Las Vegas. read more

Nice base. It has drastically improved since I was here in 2014. There are many new buildings. The fitness center is huge and new as well.

Service is always great at the Customer Service counter as well as the checkout lanes. Majority of the checkout lanes have been replaced with self-checkout stands. I've never had any issues checking out. The only item you can't checkout at the self-checkout are gift and game cards. You have to visit the Customer Service counter. You definitely save a lot of money because the prices are cheaper than most items in the market and they don't add tax here. read more

Beware of the jewelry AAFES sells. My wife purchased what she thought was gold earrings with a pearl for $176 . After 4 months, the gold turned black. I always thought AAFES carried quality, but this proves differently. read more

Stopped in and had lunch. The exchange here is very different from the exchange I knew in the Navy on 32nd street in San Diego. The Air Force is considered "Club Med" in the Military branches world because of the high end everything. Whether that was ever true or not who knows but the exchange here was nice and they had a decent little food court and shopping areas. If you find yourself here with someone with a military ID you can get some sweet deals. read more

Service is horrible as usual. Workers don't know where products are located. Workers don't know what the sale items are or where to find them. Return process took approximately 10 to 15 minutes for a routine return. Prices here are higher than Walmart. Selection is limited and prices aren't even worth the trip. read more

28JAN2023 visit around 6 P.M. [Review #12 of 2023] 2nd visit For a military exchange it's ok. For being on an Air Force base, it's not that great. One can become spoiled to the high standards that an Air Force base has when it comes down to their exchanges and commissary. This one wasn't a complete let down, but it wasn't as good as expected. While they do have a lot of products, their deals are sparse as is their use of space. Their electronics section is roughly 10% cheaper than the website bargains and to boot with no tax. Their clothing section is ok. The book section is sad. Furniture selection isn't what is expected along with being just as expensive as the retail store price. Some of the employees act like they want to avoid public interactions and at times seem to run from you if you're close to approaching. There was one lady who verifies ID at self checkout and she isn't as friendly as one would expect of a customer interfacing worker. If you want electronics, you might get a good deal. If you're looking for anything else, it may be hit or miss. read more

Arrived here in the evening on the weekend. So pleasant to be in a beautiful place. First thing you see is Bath and Body display..very cute! This is an amazing place! Quiet, felt very safe. Very clean, organized, beautiful..beautiful colorful, great quality, clothes for the whole family. I was here with my military family in town from Indiana/Michigan area. It was their first time on Nellis Air Force Base. They were so in LOVE, and so was I! The shopping was the best I've seen in Las Vegas, no joke! I love shopping at the Base Exchange. it's like the Target/Sears/Dillards for folks who are living on base and can still enjoy the comforts and convenience of shopping for familiar goods without having to go off base. But if you do live off base and are active duty/reserve or retired you still enjoy the benefits of the Exchange or "BX" which is the coined term we all use. The best thing about shopping here is if my wild children run off, we're on a military base...so folks here are generally kind and helpful and are not rude because there are generally a lot of young families here. I find this to be the case in all the BXs I've been on. I feel very safe shopping here and I love that feeling. From household cleaning goods and cookies to computers, kids clothes and coffee tables this place has it all. The best thing is shopping for high-end cosmetics like Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, Clinique, etc. Like a mini Sephora here! If you're a COACH fan several handbags on display too for you to splurge on. But the reason to shop here is the tax free benefit and a lot of items I've found to have better prices. I bought a great outdoor table with four chairs and an umbrella for a very reasonable price. So for those type of high end ticket items i definitely go out of my way to shop here it's worth it! read more

Not a good experience. First negative experience customer service told me they had "no idea" what I was asking for when I'd asked them to search up a couple individual item numbers to check if they were in stock?? I had in-store print outs of item numbers and descriptions for easy look up.. Another time I tried to do an exchange which they told me no bc I did not have the proper card number (which I can understand) however when my husband went to do the same exchange they straight up gave him a cash refund no need for the card at all. Besides this, the store has a wide selection and when I'm shopping in person I'm able to have a pleasant shopping experience. read more

For the simple fact that this Base Exchange does 'not' have everything like a Super WalMart, they do an admirable job of at least providing you a good swath of above average basic items and the store now, compared to three years ago has been quite refreshed, cleaned up and organized. A deficit to this location is the ever important rear 'Clothing Sales' area. They clearly neglect this area and it's almost everyday you have to track someone down for ten minutes; irritating. On a positive; the stores' Gun counter is almost always stocked with guns, ammo and personnel. I believe they make quite a mark here as the customer base shows much interest here and I myself have 'purchased' from this counter because they make it relatively quite easy to conduct 2nd Amendment Rights here! Overall, it's a great store but the only other thing I could think of that's been sort of a continuous issue is the fact that they are very often, always out of 'most' laptops on display. Not sure how their Regional Office coordinates this but for the thousands of Amn on the Base, you'd 'figure'... that they'd keep this a bit more stocked, but alas, they don't. Lost sales is stupid and should be avoided at all costs. This is a repetitive issue here but an uptick positive is that their 'Return' counter is efficient and quick. Don't think I've spent more than 5-8 minutes waiting - ever in three years. read more

Depends and days and times you go there. Customer service ranges from Walmart to Target depending on who you get. I have watched ppl treat their own kind with over the top service because they speak the same language as opposed to just a basic "hello" when you walk up the register. Out of all of the bases I have been to this one is one of the worse for customer service. read more

I'm very disappointed in the way they treat veterans. I have applied for different positions ten times and I've called the hr manager as to what their qualifications are and they said there are none but some of my rejection emails state I'm not qualified. I've also spoken with other recently separated veterans and I was told they had also had similar experiences with not being hired by the base exchange as well. But if you notice half the staff are not recently separated vets and mainly military spouses which is fine but considering it's hard enough for vets to get civilian jobs you would think they would help us out more. I've tried attaching the emails as proof but I'm not sure they will but it's ten. I've gotten ten rejections as of yesterday. read more

Only down fall is having to need a military ID to be able to shop here, mine unfortunately expired but hey I still have my mom and her ID :) I would compare the BX to a better TJ Maxx or Ross or Marshall's or Walmart (but not as big) or kind of like Target too! Women's, Men's, Children, Shoes, Sporting Goods, Home Goods/Furniture, Electronics, Toys, Accessories, Beauty, Toiletries and much more! I'm a sucker for makeup.. and makeup deals! The most recent pickup were three drugstore foundations all for $12, that's 3 for the price of one! I also saw that the FitBit Charge HR was only $139.99 when I got mine for $150 on Amazon! Or these Women's NikePro capri's reg price $50-$60 but only $30 at the BX! I loveee, love, love deals! I would come here more often but it is super far from home! Bittersweet! read more

Its clean and tax free. The overall selection compared to other exchanges at other bases is really lacking. Some of the stuff you find at the commissary is cheaper there than the bx. Which is strange. Customer services really sucks. The old lady's at cosmetic section never takes the time to help you out and when you do ask for some kind of help. They give you a look like its a pain in a butt to do their job. If you ask for help or a price they just tell you "oh you need to go to those black boxes on the wall." Im like the whole shelf doesn't have any prices. They really need to to hire people willing to work. This is the third time I couldn't get any help from them. read more

Whoever orders inventory for clothes and uniform items needs to do a customer survey. Why is it that the common sizes are always out of stock while XXL all the way up to 4XL is always in stock! If you wear the extra large sizes, you are either using a walking stick or confined to a wheelchair and definitely not in the service, active duty or otherwise. Someone with enough common sense needs to order the common sizes and have a good stock on hand. //end rant// read more

Is it just me or does this store always have their heater on. It could be winter, I'm dressed for the season, then I walk-in and with each aisle I'm slowly undressing. I mean, it's winter, duh...their heater should be on. Okay, well what about during the summer? Wholly crap, I almost passed out in the shoe section because it was so damn warm. My mom felt like she was menapausing all over again. Okay, back to the review. I love that they remodeled the inside. It's officially coordinated with all the other Aafes and it doesn't feel like some.out-of-date government issued store. I don't think they're cheaper just because it's tax free. I think their inflated prices makes up for the tax free. My mom managed an Aafes out in Hawaii and SHE doesn't even shop there. If you live on base, I could see why coming here in convenient. They dont give you much of an option.but hey, if the only funds you got is on that starcard...by all means. However, it'd be more fun to shop elsewhere. Their merchandise kinda suck. read more

I grew up in a Navy family and have been to quite a few Exchanges in my day. While this location is certainly not horrible, it is definitely not great. I tend to think that most of the things are out of date. Sometimes you can find really good deals though, and there is no tax on purchases. It seems like there are never enough cashiers open and we are always waiting forever to check out. It's also very out of the way for us, but my parents like shopping here after they go to the Doctor on base. Overall, the staff is friendly and helpful. I've never had any problems here and I'll be back. read more

Also AAFES which is similar to a department store with makeup counters and furniture, clothing and so much more. Convenient & Tax Free The BX offers name brand products at reasonable prices. They carry a basic array of items like any other department store would. The great thing about the BX is that everything is tax free! Not such a great thing is that everything is name brand so you pay for the more expensive items even if you would prefer the cheaper ones. They have everything from furniture to baby clothing but most of these items only have a small amount of product in store. For the most bang for your buck you have to go online to AAFES.com or get their seasonal catalog. In addition to the department store aspect of the BX there is a food court, salons, a Star Bucks coffee, several small vendors, a GNC, a computer repair center, alterations store, a Gamestop, and a military clothing exchange. read more

The BX is a decent place to shop in a pinch or if you just happen to be on base and there are things you gotta pick up here. I do not think prices at the BX always beat out prices at other stores though. You can do some good comparison pricing though and find deals that will save you time, money, and hassle other stores may present. Limited selections are often a problem. Their makeup/fragrances/designer purse section is a God send for women like me. I can always find great makeup here that I would purchase at Sephora for the same prices, except here I am not paying tax. Also, the designer purses are great - lower prices, same thing. The food court boasts some interesting choices: Taco Bell, the sandwich place, Baskin Robbins, etc. And there are always the kitchy shops that appear selling odd goodies, especially during Christmas. I have found some cool presents for certain people that are hard to shop for on ocassion. Overall, not the best, not the worst. Definitely deserving of a 4 star rating. Their price match policy sucks, they have to call the store themselves and when you ask for them to price match, they give you attitude (this happened 3x with different employees) Food court is well maintained. I actually love the BX because it is huge and has many things. Since my parents are able to access the base I love to come to the BX. It has a variety of things to sell. This place reminds me of a huge department store in a mall. This place is awesome so I give it 4 stars. Also it has a huge food court and the best part is that there are NO TAXES. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT LANCOME INSIDE THE Bx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Lancome representative "Aurora" inside the Exchange was extremely rude! Her customer service skills are terrible! The makeup display was extremely dirty, messy and smashed! After paying for my items, I went back to receive my free gift. Aurora the sales rep was no where to be found. After waiting for 10 mins, other reps from various counters such as: Estee Lauder and Shiseido had to explain where Aurora went (Coffee and bathroom). Patiently waiting for another 10 mins Aurora was still not at her designated area. So the sales lady from the Shiseido counter was able to help me. Aurora left her counter empty for a total of 20+mins. As I was leaving the Exchange, I saw Aurora sitting down at Starbucks conversing with another sales rep!!!! I wouldn't recommend going here for customer services. However, the Lancôme products are cheaper. read more

The customer service worker Cherry was extremely rude. My friend who is a SPC in the National Guard ordered online for pick up. Her card was charged 1 and half weeks ago when the order was placed. She got multiple emails saying the order was ready for pick up. When we got there Cherry gave attitude asking "Can I help you?". We then gave her the order number and she came back saying the payment is "not in their system". So I offered to pay since my friends card was not working. Cherry then grabbed my card and said I can not pay because I do not have a military ID. So we handed her another card and without hesitation she accepted the card even though she didn't check if the name matched my friends ID. So I could have just gave my friend my card and it would have been fine? Correct me if I am wrong, but is a military ID required to purchase anything? We then only got half of the order, we then asked for the other half and she said it is not in their system and to try again tomorrow. Remember this order was placed about 2 weeks prior. So we left and called the customer service number that is provided on the signs at the front entrance. A man named Dwight answered and asked the order number and last name. In less than 2 minutes he brought out the order. So Cherry didn't even bother to look for the other half of our order! If you go here and ever need help at the customer service desk. Please just go straight to a supervisor or somebody who knows that they're doing. read more
