We have hired a photographer and I spent more than I ever have on a beautiful sequined deep olive green gown. I was so nervous to get all the necessary alterations, including a major shortening due to my 5'2 stature. I was able to get that and alteration to shoulders of the gown which allowed it to fit perfectly for my special day. The quality of the work was excellent and the turnaround time was totally reasonable. The alterations cost $120, but it was well worth the investment because this dress is a once in a lifetime experience for me. The craftsmanship was excellent. I also appreciated the excellent customer service and the shop cat, Puma was a wonderful bonus!

The worst experience. I took in a brand new pair of white jeans to get them hemmed. I asked to keep…read morethe original hem. The person helping me told me I didn't need the original hem. So, I requested that the hem be kept the same width. When I picked up the jeans I informed her that the width was not the same and she stated that they kept the original hem. They did not. The hem is roughly two inches different from when they were purchased. In addition, my white jeans were covered in cat hair (they have a cat that roams freely) and stains. I could not be more un-impressed and will never be back to this place. Also, I did take it to another tailor and they told me that it ABSOLUTELY can be done and is called a euro hem. Horrible communication and horrible customer service from you.

I've sent two garments that had serious moth holes in them to Amazing Garment Repair. The work AGR…read moredid is, as their name suggests, amazing. They are thoroughly skilled in the French reweaving technique with such results that on the one garment I was unable to find where exactly they did the work -- the damage was fixed with nary a sign. The work on both garments -- both suit jackets -- was done in obvious places: the upper back on one and the right sleeve on the other. They were challenging jobs and they are completely fixed. The turnaround time was quick respective of the skill and expertise that is required for this method of fixing. And the pricing is beyond reasonable. Listen, I hope I never have to contact these fine people again. But I rest assured that should I ever have another moth problem, it won't be the "end of the world" because the talented ladies at AGR will be there to . . . ahem . . . patch things up. I highly recommend AGR to make your holes whole again!

Unfortunately, they were not able to deliver the jacket to me by the original deadline, due to a lack of the required materials. As much as I wish the jacket could have been ready when my grandfather passed, I was comforted by the quality of the repair when I finally did receive it. Although I was promised a discount because of their inability to complete my repair on time, the discount was small and relatively meaningless compared to the total cost. This left a bad taste in my mouth and the experience as a whole soured me towards ever wanting to use their services again. I mentioned as much in a negative review on this site shortly after returning home. Upon submitting my review, I was contacted in less than 2 hours by the owner, who apologized for my experience and offered me a full refund. Even after giving me all of my money back, she never asked me to take my review down, which spoke volumes of her character. Because of this, I have edited my review and rating. The final marks: Customer Service: 2.5/5 stars due to poor communication surrounding the delays. Quality of Repair Work: 5/5 stars

Since my clothes always look sharp I'm always sharp and on point! From making me look great to something as simple as adding velcro to names tapes, the quality and price has always been the best! The bridesmaid dress just needed the length shortened. For both dresses, I had a good experience and the dresses were altered quickly. It is pricey but I do think that the customer service, quick turnaround, and final product is worth it. I do plan on returning if I need something altered in the future.

I just got my dress back yesterday after two appointments and I still have two weeks to go! I am very impressed with the quality of the work that was done, the timeliness, and the professionalism. I needed the dress to be taken in about two sizes, I needed a bustle added, the skirt cut, and the veil altered. I have never paid for alterations before, but I felt what they charged for all of that was very reasonable. I have some other formal dresses that have been hanging in my closet that I will definitely take to them going forward. The place is also very clean and cozy. I stopped by on my way home and she hadn't even touched the skirt despite it presumably being ready the next day. Nonetheless she said it would be ready on time. I came in the next day to pick it up after it was finally ready. I brought it home in the garment bag and noticed it had ink stains all over it. She didn't bother to tell me that she stained it, nor that she tried to get it out and left a water stain as well. Horrible service. Accidents happen but not informing a customer is inappropriate and poor business.

I decided to take in a very formal gown I was wearing to a wedding to test them out before giving them 'the' dress. I was blown away. They are getting all of my business for any formal or complicated alterations I need! I am a petite 5'1" female and there was a lot of this dress that needed to be taken in and shortened. They also put in some bra cups so that I didn't have to wear a bra. It doesn't look like much from the outside of the building, and it's not in the best location. But when you go inside, you can immediately tell you're in the right place. They have high end equipment and a nice space. It was busy when I walked in, which is also a good sign. The people here are well trained and know what they're doing. The man I worked with really took his time to make sure my dress was laying properly and would fit well with his adjustments. He reminded me to stand tall so that it wouldn't be messed up as he was taking measurements. They were also able to get my dress done within two weeks! They gave it to me freshly pressed and ready to go. Awesome service. I can't say enough positive things about this place.

I asked her to pin the underboob area and she just ran her fingers over it to "flatten" it out. She started pinning the bottom for hemming which was odd to me since the top of the dress should be altered before even looking at the hem... I looked down and noticed she snagged my dress! Front and center right on the top layer, I pointed it out and she scrunched her face and tried to smooth it over and just moved on like it didn't happen!? At this point all the red flags were glaring me in the face and I kindly asked "this is just a consultation, right?" And she scoffed and said "no, you're booked with me to tailor your dress." I let her know " I'm so sorry there must have been a misunderstanding this was just supposed to be a consultation." Then she proceeded to basically tell me I was wasting her time. I just wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. I feel awful after this experience. I left in tears with a snagged dress, I don't feel like she listened to me or tried to accommodate my requests. I would NEVER trust this place with any piece of clothing, let alone my wedding dress. Anna is not the cheapest tailor I've ever been to, but her prices aren't unreasonable and the quality speaks for itself. I love high-end vintage shopping and I never have to worry about Anna butchering any of my one-of-a-kind finds or any of her work falling apart. She asked what exactly I was looking for, was very thorough in making the measurements and then told me she'd have it done within a week. I was very grateful because I had procrastinated in getting alterations and needed it done quickly. When I came back, I paid what was agreed on, and the dress looked and fit great! I've had alterations done somewhere else in Overland Park where I had much less done to the dress for more than twice the price I paid here, and the quality of the work was done very sloppy. Needless to say, I was very happy with the outcome of my dress.
