My husband and I purchased a 2013 Lexus 570 mid-October 2020. We live in Texas so we had to secure funding before making the visit to Tulsa, OK. The financial institute we chose requires dealerships to handle TTL paperwork before releasing any funds because Texas is a lien-holding state. I confirmed with Lindsay in the title department that TTL paperwork would be handled by the dealership. However, that was not the case. Within a week, I was mailed the TTL check along with the title. That to me indicates bad faith because they did not follow through on their words and I paid a $399 documentation fee. During the sales process we were able to negotiate with Daniel H. We pointed out major mechanical flaws to the vehicle such as cracked radiator, moisture in a headlight, and worn-down brake pads. Just wanted to let Nelson Masada know what a great experience we had buying our son Colin's new (used) car! We worked with Clay Reibenstein and he was just so much fun to work with and so professional. He was so attentive and offered us a variety of snacks and beverages and just brought us water without even asking. Ran into a situation where I had negotiated for a used jeep over the phone/text but the jeep was sold while I was on my way to do the deal. Obviously I was upset but Tom P called and explained what happened where the salesman didn't mark the jeep as unavailable during my interactions and it seemingly sold. Mistakes happen, Tom took the bullet. Few days roll by and the jeep is still there, found out it didn't actually sell. They remained true to our original agreement and even negotiated a good deal on my trade in. I bought the jeep and still love it. I think as long as Tom is in a leadership role of such a good sales team I would go back and buy another car from them. read more

This dealership gave me simply the worst car buying experience of my life. I walked through the doors and was, for lack of a better word, overwhelmed with a rancid scent of cat urine. Once my mind made it past the awful smell, I was approached by a salesman named Ron Murray. Mr. Murray was the most downright disrespectful man I have ever met in my life. He lied to us the entire time about our payments on a brand new CX-5 by almost $200. And even after making an agreement on a price, we make it out to the car and it has close to 30 dents on it from what seems to be hail. I would never recommend purchasing a car from this dealership, and especially stay away from Ron Murray. They will lie and deceive their way into stealing your money. Wife took car to get oil change and tire rotation. They added other services without approval for a bill of $735. I went down to see why, and was able to get refund, but it felt like she was taken advantage of because they added unnecessary maintenance. Seriously, who changes brake fluid at 60k miles?...or ever...? Who changes antifreeze at 60k miles? there were others too.... Just make sure you are clear on what work they do, because they'll try to add more stuff. read more

Cash buyers beware!! I was interested in a used car they had on their lot. I called to make sure it was still available since I had to drive 2 hours to look at it. During the call I talked to someone and told him that I was driving 2 hours to look at that specific car and as long as there were no issues after a test drive I would like to buy it. During the phone call I heard all about Mr. Nelson and what he was trying to do to improve the customer experience. It was apparent that the person I talked to was reciting a script. I had to hear about how wonderful their in house financing is even though I had already said I was paying cash. Mr. Nelson's name came up quite a bit to the point where I thought it a bit odd. When I drove to Tulsa, I couldn't test drive the car until I heard a bunch of back and forth about how Mr. Nelson knows customers don't want back and forth when they come to buy a car. Then more of the script, I had to hear about the financing again which didn't apply to me, I had to hear about how all their new cars come with lifetime warranty even though I was buying used. The associate knew exactly why I was there, throughout his entire spiel he had the keys to the car I wanted on the table. I even laughed at him and asked him if he realized that we were having back and forth about how Mr. Nelson knows customers don't want to hear a bunch of back and forth when they buy a car. At least twice during this presentation I asked if we could skip this part of the script since it didn't apply to me and just test drive the car. I drove the car, I liked it, I wanted to buy it. Even though I heard all about how Mr. Nelson doesn't like that a person who knows how to deal could get a better price than someone who doesn't and that Mr. Nelson aggressively negotiated every price before he listed it so there was no haggling, I thought that a cash customer might have a little leverage so I offered $6,500 for a car with a sticker price of $6,994. They would not budge a penny, so I did agree to pay full sticker price. Then they hit me with a $399 "document fee" that put the car out of my price range. I was literally sitting in the dealership with $7200 cash ready to buy a car listed at $6,994. The associate brought over the manager who suggested I put the balance on my credit card, or that I finance the difference, or that maybe I could give them earnest money to come back with the rest later, I told them that all I had was $7200 and I couldn't give them more than I had and I wasn't going to use a credit card or finance or come back with more money. They let me walk away over about $200 worth of fees. After leaving, Mr. Nelson himself called me within about two minutes but not because he wanted to sell me a car, he wanted to ask me about my customer experience and asked if his employee didn't communicate clearly enough with me. I politely told him that his employee did nothing wrong. I said I wanted the car and was ready the buy the car but his fees priced me out. He said he understood that people have budgets and said if he got another car in my price range he'd give me a call. Thanks for wasting my entire Saturday! Seriously what kind of dealership won't work with you if you have cash in hand and you're ready to give them $200 more than the sticker price. If you don't want to sell me a car I don't want to buy one from you. read more

Took my CX-5 in for service at Nelson Mazda. All maintenance has been performed at dealership since purchasing new. CX-5 at 60k miles for regular maintenance. Warranty had just expired. Performed coolant flush as recommended by Nelson service. Two days later engine light came on. Researched on my own and also took car back to service department. Premature breakdown of original Mazda factory coolant caused new, major repair is what it seems. Coolant flush caused heater core failure, thermostat replacements. Couldn't believe it! Just spent $389 on regular service of battery, coolant flush, and cabin filter. Now asking $1888 for heater core and new thermostats!? The service mechanic had not seen this type of issue but was empathetic with what may have caused it. (Manufacturer communication SA218 heater core known 2013 - 2016 mazda CX-5 issue.) No recalls!? Worked with service advisor Trixie at Nelson and the Mazda manufacturer. Worked to see if could qualify for discounts and how Nelson and Mazda would treat me. Wanted to know if I could trust buying another Mazda and if could recommend Nelson to friends. They both did not disappoint. Nelson and Mazda were able to discount the repair down to a manageable cost. And, Trixie also put us in a rental and worked hard on our behalf. She is great. About this time I applied my new car insurance warranty out of my "back pocket" and cut the bill down even further. While all cars can have issues it would have been nice if a recall had actually been issued with this one by Mazda originally. Many customers have been affected. All in all, Nelson and Mazda both handled this very respectably in the end and I can say they have earned my trust. While this review is lengthy and sounds a bit negative in the beginning... it was written in part to warn CX-5 owners to double check to see if this issue could affect them and work with dealership to avoid. The only remaining problem I am having now is that the loaner they let me use during repairs (CX-9 fully loaded) has spoiled me and my wife :) I am pretty sure that will be my family's next car, and Nelson will be the first place I look. read more

I purchased a car from them, I took it home and parked it. Once I received the title I took it to get the car tagged. Multiple warning lights came on. They charged me 600 to fix, then I learned from another dealerships review the warnings were on as a result of Nelson Mazda placing the incorrect battery type on the car. Another $328.00 spent. The air has also since gone out. Worse when I complained about the and had to pay them to fix it, the lied about the amount of time to repair and didn't offer a loaner. They smile a lot, but they lie, and they don't stand behind what they sell. Shameful for people who claim to be people of faith. read more

This was my first time getting service done by this Mazda dealership after purchasing my vehicle. I came in two weeks prior to today and recieved a synthetic oil change. When I scheduled the appointment the agent gave me promises that were inaccurate. They were eventually rectified by a sales manager. (THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY FIRST CLUE THAT I WAS BOT GOING TO HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE). During the appointment I was told that they would replace the battery in my key fob. One week later I locked my key fob in my car (WHICH SHOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE) HAD POPALOCK COME OUT AND CHARGE ME!!!! All because the battery was never changed in the fob in the first place. I immediately called the sales manager the next day at 9am and was placed on an extended hold only to be told the sales manager would call me back. I recieved no call! I called again at 2pm and was again told the same thing. Finally at 3am I spoke with a Service Manager (she was a women) and was offered a sorry and we can replace that. They ended up replacing it bit now I am out of money for popalock! Utterly ridiculous! read more

Purchased a used car from them, brought it home on a Friday and over the weekend I came across a safety issue the car had. I contacted the dealership first thing Monday and was told someone would call me back. Never happened, so I called every day. Then a 5:33 on Friday a manager called me and told me there was nothing they could do about it, even though I had the car for 2 days and discovered the issue. One star is not low enough. I put a $399 deposit on a vehicle over the phone with the understanding that if I did not purchase said vehicle the deposit would be refunded. Upon arriving at the the dealership and physically looking at the car decided it was not what I wanted. When I asked for my deposit back the salesman refused and tried to force me into the purchase. Being a single parent, raising a teenager is financially difficult enough without some trashy dealership robbing me of $400. Especially hypocritical when the salesman's 1st words were that they are a Christian based organization. Applied for the financing and was told that I didn't "qualify" for the special rate (Due to my "dismal" 750+ Credit Score), however, they were able to negotiate with the bank and offer me a much higher rate! What a deal! *Sarcasm* Anyway, I went to Acura, bought a car that was $10K more than the Mazda, and was approved at the 0% Financing Special they had; imagine that. I guess it is more difficult to get approved for Mazda Financing than Acura Financing *More Sarcasm*. Nelson Mazda was clearly trying to make quite a bit more $$ by adding more points to the APR of the loan. They salesman also acted low-pressure on the floor, but when I left he bombarded me with text messages asking me, "If I somehow did "X" and "Y" would you sign for the car TODAY?!?!" i was looking at a luxury vehicle they had in their used inventory that I was in love with. I went and looked at the car and gave them the vin number on mine that I was planning on trading in and they were supposed to get back with us and never did. so I brought my vehicle up there for them to look at it and test it out (they had no idea I was coming btw) and was helped by another salesmen. after that they said they couldn't reach this financing company that night that I would hear something early the next morning. come the next morning I'm trying to get ahold of Adrian (my salesmen) and never get a call back. I end up leaving three messages then decide to call the manager. I asked if I could just purchase the car with the other guy because I wanted the car right then. and they actually REFUSED to sell me the car because my salesmen already helped me. so I have to wait for my actually salesman to get back with me. Im very disappointed with this unprofessional dealership and will never go back and probably will end up not purchasing the car. 0 stars from me if that was possible but had to leave my input. read more

Purchased a CPO from IAN K. after I did inspection checklist, he was made aware of defects in front windshield and headliner. Service Mgr looked at it and said if Mazda didn't fix it they would. I made appointment for service. Loaner car was given, the salesman texted that car would be done in the morning. I asked if headliner was fixed, he stated that car was purchased as is, they couldn't lose any more money on the deal. Car dealerships make money on used cars, that's a big part of their business. This salesman had an attitude from day one which continued when my husband got involved. My husband had a few words with Ian and hung up. We called back to talk to the GM, who mysteriously is never there. Ian called after 20 minutes and stated that even though the car was purchased As Is they didn't have to fix it but will because they wanted to provide good customer service. Wow! With all the crap that I have been through I will never recommend this salesman to anyone. Ian, you make a living and pay your bills by selling cars! You need to be more respectful of people, get an attitude adjustment. I worked retail for 20 years and the customer is always right! read more
