When they went out of business, I tried a number of other brands, but none of them even came close to being enjoyable. Then, I found Popcorn Heaven, I gave it a try and DAMN, this is great stuff. The popcorn is freshly made and seasoned with the very best ingredients. My personal addiction is their Jalapeno-Ranch flavor, which is both spicy and savory in a buttery way. I order online and it comes to my door in just about a day (because I'm local to Los Angeles), and, packed in resealable plastic bags, it stays fresh for a good long while. On top of that, the owner, Tim, is the nicest guy you'd ever want to deal with. He communicates quickly about order status and makes sure that everything comes through as requested. Recently, Tim sent samples of new flavors for me to try and asked for my feedback -- that was a fun surprise. I know you can pick up at their location, but I've always just had things shipped. So when we heard Doc Popcorn was coming to town we were excited! Our go-to flavors are a mix of Hoppin Jalapeño and Cheesy Cheddar. It's cheesy goodness with a hint of just enough spice. We went one day and took out refillable popcorn buckets from the other stand. Tamer waved us over once he saw our bucket and struck up a conversation. Unfortunately, they had run out of the hoppin jalapeño but offered us some other delicious options. He asked us to joy our numbers down and he would let us know once he restocked. He felt really bad and apologized that we had made our way over but assured us we would know when it was available. Fast forward a few weeks and boom incoming text read that it was available. Sent him a quick thank you text and went to fill up that day. He instantly knew who we were, what I had texted him and what our favorite mix was. If this doesn't say "exceptional customer service" I don't know what will. So every now and again when we feel like having a treat, we simply send a quick text and he knows when to expect us. We love this popcorn so much that we wanted to have some available for our guests to snack on at an event this past weekend. Tamer gave us some amazing advice for how much we would need for the amount of guests we were having with an out of this world price! From the beginning, he was fully invested in making everything perfect--helping us plan quantities, walking us through dry ice and storage, and even suggesting things we hadn't thought of. When I was worried our cooler wouldn't fit everything, he had me come by and personally helped pack it to make sure it worked. He even coordinated with corporate to ensure everything arrived on time. On the wedding day, the handoff was smooth and stress-free. He followed up during and after to make sure everything went perfectly. We even had leftovers, and without hesitation, he let us store them at his shop until our next party--something you rarely see from a business owner. Tamer truly goes above and beyond, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his customers. You don't even need a big event to support him--stop by for a cup of Dippin' Dots or try the Doc Popcorn. First off, shout out to the owners dad who talked about his son's business and how he moved back to SoCal to help him out. To help support their business, I decided to but a few bags since I loved their story. Plus, the shop was cool, service was great, and you are immersed by the popcorn scent once you walk in. Most importantly, there are so many flavors and if you are undecided like I was, they allow you to try 3 flavors. After deliberation and going back and forth which felt like hours, actually 2 minutes, I ended up taking home Doritos Cool Ranch, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Dill Pickle. Doritos Cool Ranch: Tastes just like the chips, and as a matter of fact, there are chip crumbs throughout the bag which is a plus because it is one of my favorites. It's mind boggling how they can master the taste and trick your mind, thinking you are eating a bag of chips. Not too salty, popcorn was fresh, and the taste was perfection. By the time we realized, the bag was done and had us wanting more. Strawberry Cheesecake: Sweet but delicious. Definitely tasted like I was eating cheesecake. Cool tip-eat one of the pink and white kernels to get the true taste and be sure to savor it. Dill Pickle: I am not a fan of pickles but I would make an exception because it had a great taste.
