Several more issues developed before I signed the contract. I called Nathan. He told me he was driving and he would get back to me. He never did. I called Ray and suggested that the entire roof may need replacing. He promised to come out the following day. He never showed and never called. ***BUYER BEWARE***…read more As a YELPER, we are so excited to share accolades and encouragements with others on companies. Here we have a company that is unreliable and a master of the bait and switch game. Steve, disappeared in the midst of our bathroom renovations with 14000.00 in his pocket. He did not pay his contractors and therefore they would not return. We were told this would take all of ten days and here we were at 26 days, no workers,we no functional shower/ tub, sink or toilet! He contended he was ill and yet he was not the working force here, the contractors he hired were and the reality was he was not passing on these two down payments to them. Our recovery was to hire another and at a cost to us. 15 weeks after starting, with further loss of revenue we had a functional bathroom. We will be filing with the Rhode Island Board of Contractors on Ocean State General Contractors but for you my friends, DO NOT HIRE STEVE and do not hire Ocean State as you will be left holding the bag and the cost.

We signed a contract in April 2021 to COMPLETE by the end of July 2021. What we got was nothing but headaches and excuses for FOURTEEN months. Initially, we didn't think much of it when the deadline came and went but the litany of excuses started coming and never stopped. We gave the first 1/3 of the project as a deposit. When nothing had happened two months after deadline, we were somehow convinced to drop yet another 1/3 for materials. Fast forward to November, December more radio silence followed by excuses. We finally gave a hard deadline in January (which passed) and somehow, we allowed that to be pushed to early February for completion. Since we were told the project would be completed off site, we asked for photos. To this day, we never received any proof of any aspect of project completion. At this point, we asked for and were promised a full refund within 30 days- no sooner because of "industry standards." At the end of the 30 days, we received only half. Then the new litany of excuses for the remainder started coming. He eventually stopped responding. We had to file a complaint with the state. After a painful 3+ months later, an investigator was able to recoup the remaining amount. This was after we were promised a refund of a job we have no proof he did and 14 months after signing a contract with him. We are thankful we finally received our deposit back, but this was after no work was done and over a year of headaches.
