It is definitely one of my top 5 sandwiches in NYC. The sandwich doesn't look anything special, but when you eat it you will be amazed! There was so much different delicious flavors at every bite: savory, sweet, spicy, tangy. It was a party in my mouth! I make happy sounds whenever I eat delicious foods & I was making too much of that. I also kept saying "jesus christ this is one delicious sandwich"! The cool thing is that u can tell them how to season the sandwich. I asked for the red pepper tomato concoction, pesto, basil, mayo, black pepper, frated parmesan cheese, white vinegar, balsamic glaze. That combo seasoning made that sandwich even more delicious! I have passed by this shop many times & I regret not trying it earlier. I can't wait to try their other sandwiches. I highly highly recommend this shop!

I ordered The Godfather and a hot roast beef sandwich (forgot the name). The Godfather wasn't bad but nothing special about it. The roast beef sandwich was really bland, this could just be a normal thing because I've had other roast beef where it's also bland. If I ever make it back here again I'd love to try their hot foods instead of another sandwich.

Zero accountability, stole my money, and treated a loyal customer with total hostility. AVOID THIS PLACE! ------------------------------- Do not waste your money here‼ I placed an order for a premium $19 Lox, Cream Cheese, Tomato, and Avocado on Everything bagel. What I actually received was an overpriced insult to basic NYC deli standards. 1. They completely omitted the main $19 protein--the lox was missing entirely. Charging nearly $20 for a bagel and leaving out the core ingredient you paid for shows a shocking lack of basic order accuracy and kitchen oversight. 2. The bagel itself was completely ruined. I specifically requested a light toast so it would be soft and easy to eat. Instead, they delivered a scorched, rock-hard bagel that was so burnt and tough it was painful to chew and literally scratched my mouth and throat. Serving severely charred, rock-hard bread to a customer is not just terrible preparation--it poses a legitimate health hazard and a violation of basic food safety standards. Food served in this condition can easily cause physical abrasion, micro-tears, or injury to a customer's mouth and esophagus. Delivering an unpalatable, physically hazardous product while leaving out the $19 primary ingredient demonstrates a complete disregard for consumer health, sanitation, and quality control. Save your money and order from a business that respects its customers and basic safety guidelines!

I've eaten MANY Italian heroes all over northern NY & NYC and this has to be the best Ive ever had. This place is well established in the local community and I am sure someone has done a video or segment on TV about this place. The amount of food on a sandwich and the quality of their food is impeccable. No heroes loaded up with tomato and lettuce. Just plenty of the "good stuff". Don't give the prices a 2nd glance as these sandwiches have to weight 4-5 lbs each and a full ( 10"?) hero is plenty for 2 very hungry people. They have over 150 Signature sandwiches named after ( mostly) Italian celebrities. ( Fran Sinatra, Yogi Berra, Sophia Loren, etc) I was very satisfied with these 2: ---#119 EDDIE ARCARDO "Try This Thoroughbred"-- Chicken cutlet, salami, ham, olive oil, basil mix, LIONI FRESH MOZZARELLA, Sun-dried tomatoes, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar ----#P1 THE ROSANNA SCOTTO "You'll Have A Good Day With This One" Ham, Salami, Pepperoni, Soppressata, Fresh Mozzarella, Roasted Peppers OMG! so loaded, so fresh, amazing bread. The shop has so much character and tons of signs and things to look at while you wait. The menu can feel a little overwhelming at first because they have over 150 hero variations, but that's also part of the fun. I went with a prosciutto and fresh mozzarella hero with all the works. The sandwich was HUGE--I could only finish half--but absolutely delicious and worth the wait. Very old-school, unpretentious Brooklyn spot that clearly knows what it's doing. I'd love to come back and try another sandwich. If you're in the area, definitely stop in, but honestly, even if you're just visiting Brooklyn, it's worth making the trip!

The cashier informed me that I could not order through her, yet there was no visible signage indicating where customers were supposed to order. For a business operating in a busy beach environment, clear direction and customer flow are essential, and that aspect was noticeably lacking. The seating situation was equally puzzling. After receiving my food, I noticed many people occupying the tables while eating food from completely different establishments. Throughout my visit, groups carrying various meals from around the beach sat freely without being informed otherwise. This gave the impression that the seating area functions more as a public beach dining space than as seating reserved for paying customers. Management may want to evaluate this arrangement, as it can diminish the experience for patrons who purchased food from the restaurant. As for the food itself, the sandwich was undeniably large and offered a generous portion for the price. However, much of the value seemed tied to its size rather than its flavor. The chicken breast was substantial but lacked seasoning and depth of taste. The agua de horchata was even more disappointing, with a flavor that tasted artificial and more reminiscent of a powdered mix than a traditional homemade recipe. Overall, this is not a place that stands out for its atmosphere, food quality, or customer experience. While the portions are impressive, the flavors fail to match the presentation, leaving the impression that you're primarily paying for quantity rather than quality. With improvements to customer service, clearer organization, and more attention to flavor, the experience could be significantly better in the future. Rating: 3/5 stars. Decent portions, but the overall experience and food quality leave plenty of room for improvement.

The only tough things to consider while ordering from here was the staff had a hard time understanding orders between my friend and I. The sandwiches from here does take a while to come out as they're making it from scratch - so be prepared for a semi long wait. We both ordered different items - a Philly cheesesteak and a chicken cutlet sandwich with a side of fries. This place has a good assortment of deli items and snacks to sell with a narrow hall. The hardest part from our experience was both the chef and the cashier had a tough time getting our food orders correct. My friend got a Philly cheesesteak but both of them added an order of fries with her sandwich when she didn't get one. Mine was the chicken cutlet sandwich with the fries but the cashier was about to ring up my order and almost mistakenly stated it was the Philly Cheesesteak (almost got charged the extra price for the wrong sandwich). Luckily my friend and I were detail oriented and stopped them before anything was entered. Since the extra side of fries was made, they were nice enough to give my friend this no extra charge. But it was quite painful to correct and shocking on the customer side. Food is still good and didn't have a bad experience once we got to munch on dinner. But definitely check your items and the price charge when ordering from here.
