I had an appointment at 1:00 PM, get there at 12:20 PM and was told that I was a little early and the dr. was running behind schedule. I wait till 3:20 PM and didn't get seen by the dr. I have to go home because the girl at the front desk told me there was still 7 patients ahead of me. After a few days I have to call to make another appointment and get the same results, the appointment was for 2:15 PM, was there at 1:00 PM have to leave at 4:20 PM without been seen once again. Don't let the good reviews fool you! (I will explain that at the end...) If you have a choice and value your time, avoid this place! My recent experience included a 70 minute wait before being brought into the back for my appointment where I waited an additional 35 minutes. There was a TV in the exam area for me to watch except it didn't work. (Thank god for smart phones and Facebook) The waiting room is dingy and the VFW-hall inspired banquet chairs they have for you to sit on should be an indication of what they think of their clients. Actually, the whole office felt sort of dirty. The front desk and checkout staff have absolutely no interest in being there nor do they care about providing friendly, prompt service. On the plus side, the girl who took my xrays was friendly and Dr Nick didn't seem to hate his job like just about everyone else. While waiting 70 minutes in the waiting room, I decided to pull up some of the reviews and was surprised to see so many good ones, most of which are more recent. When I was leaving, that's when I saw the sign that said "Leave us a good review on Google for a chance to win a Soniccare toothbrush." So all I can assume is that the majority of the good reviews are from people who are more interested in whoring themselves out for a free toothbrush rather than provide an honest review to some poor, unsuspecting soul like me who selected this place based on that fact that they were participants in my dental plan. (Hey Cigna - if you're reading this, it's time to re-evaluate this office!). I scheduled an appointment about 3 weeks ago to see an oral surgeon for an apicalectomy. I was placed on 2 weeks of antibiotics, and was told that occasionally the oral surgeon runs a little behind. The day of my appointment, the waiting room was completely full (overcrowded beyond belief), so I waited in my car over 2 hours for the appointment. This is completely unacceptable. I took my records and left. If an office is running this behind with appointments and are this disorganized, how can their rooms be cleaned properly for COVID and how can I trust the work of a 2 hour behind/rushed oral surgeon. read more

Gave insurance information to the receptionist when I scheduled our Appointment. A month before the appointment date. Never received a call from the office about any issues. Drive 30 mins to office on Saturday to be told there was a problem verifying my insurance. Can't do consult unless they charge me $87.00 The Dentist/Ortho might be fine, didn't meet them, but will not be returning. Front end staff, incompetent and rude. Ok so this office is in neptune, it's a relatively poor area and this office caters to a lot of poor people on medicaid.its not fancy, it's usually crowded. Poor people need dental work too. I've gone here for years. I'm happy they take my crappy medicaid and they've fixed my teeth a lot(fillings, caps, root canals, cleanings,x-rays,) whatever I needed they took care of it. This place is a godsend for locals needing dental work. Have I had issues here? Yeah, a kid puked in the waiting room once, and a cap I needed came in and cracked after it was put in,they quickly sent for a new one, whatever, no big deal. If you ever saw jeremy jam on parks and recreation, that's what I call the doctor here,dr. Jam. He doesn't know it but whenever I need some tooth issue fixed I get jammed at neptune dental. If you like an expensive high end office definitely look elsewhere. The bad reviews on here definitely aren't from regulars, they all sound like they were left by angry boujie types who probably never had to rough it a day in their life. If you had to wait it's almost always because an emergency patient came in and needed a more important procedure. I've waited a couple times because of that. As a new patient here I scheduled my appointment for 9:10am to see the orthodontist. I waited in an overcrowded waiting room (guess Covid regulations aren't a thing) for over an hour to only be told "they're cleaning the room". During a time like this especially the appointment slots should be made accordingly to prevent long waits and overcrowding. I went there last Nov of 2015 for sore molar tooth as a result of PTSD, clenched too hard during sleep.. Dr recommended THREE molar teeth to extracted... What was hell going on?? I felt like throw a punch into his mouth for not being considerate and he was hurried as not want to deal with me.. I just walked out not having anything to do with him to touch my tooth again..I tell you, their office waiting room has became more socialized with Medicaid and or welfare folks, than previous time in 2010 I last visited.. I have been a patient in this office since it opened almost 10 years ago. My husband has also been a patient. We are older and have had to have significant dental work done and Dr. Ginsberg is the most honest and trustworthy dentist I've ever had. He only recommends to treat issues that are absolutely necessary and his work is beautiful. My husband has dentures on the top which are beautiful and has several crowns on the bottom that have been painless. I do not have strong teeth and have needed a lot of work. The fees are the most reasonable of any office in NJ as well. The office is very busy and accepts all forms of insurance but it's worth waiting for great care at a reasonable cost. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Ginsberg for over 7 years now. I have complete trust in his work, he is a perfectionist and makes sure you are happy with his work when he is done. I have had many procedures done and not once did I leave there in pain or unhappy with the way i was treated. The whole time Dr. Ginsberg works on your mouth there is no surprises, he tells you what he is doing and tries to make you as comfortable as possible, and always askes while working on my teeth am I ok. He has noticed things that my previous dentists never pointed out to me that needed work, only to lead to a major dental work. When I leave Dr. Ginsberg after having work done its a nice feeling knowing I am in good hands and I never have to second guess his work. His work is on point every time I have never had to come back with any problems after the work he had done. As far as wait time, I have always been seen in a timely manner. I highly recommend Dr. Ginsberg I have told my friends about him and now they all go and are very happy. Had me come into office after fully explaining to them my problem and they said they could help me and after 2 hours of waiting they told me they couldn't help me and sent me away. Received a bill a year after services, was told they billed me wrong at time of services ( I paid they balance they quoted me in the office and left with a zero balance at time of service) ...they also sent the bill to collection and it affected my credit. My regular dentist did not have weekend hours and I needed an appointment ASAP for a tooth I knew I needed a root canal in. I called and they said they had an appointment at 12 and they could take care of me. I got there at 11:45 to fill out paperwork, they had me pay as soon as I got there. I was not taken back until 1:05 where I had to wait to get pictures taken. While waiting they said they had a cleaning cancellation and would I want me teeth cleaned. I had an appointment Monday for a cleaning with my dentist and told them no, thank you. They asked again, and since it was now 1:15, I said fine. They took the pictures and I finally sat in the exam chair and met with another hygienist (who was great). She started cleaning my teeth and I had to tell her to stop because the pain in my tooth was too great. She continued and then realized how much pain I was in and stopped. It was now 1:45 and little did I know I should not have gotten the cleaning due to how bad my tooth was. The dentist finally came in at 2:45 and didn't even look at me or introduce himself. He looked at my pictures, rattled off some numbers and I heard RTC. He then told the hygienists to set me free and left. I looked at them and said, "I'm not getting my tooth fixed today??" They went into the back and all started talking, came back in, and told me the "root canal specialist" was not in until Thursday. I've never heard of this and questioned them again. I waited 3 hours and didn't even get fixed what I needed to. He never wrote me a prescription for antibiotics or pain meds. I went to the check out girl and asked what I paid for because I didn't get anything done. Another girl told her to charge me more for the cleaning. I looked at her and said I wasn't paying for a cleaning because I didn't need one or come here for that. I told them I'd make an appointment with my regular dentist for the root canal. I've never heard a dentist not doing a root canal or at least a filling. By the time I left, every other dentist was closed and I have to wait until tomorrow to have my tooth fixed. This office is the worst. They have temp hygienists and doctors. The hygienists actually care more than anyone there. Dr. Ginsberg is probably the worst dentist I've ever seen.
