Dinner at the restaurant for my partner's birthday was an excellent choice. We loved our courses from starters all the way through desserts and coffee. Starters were tuna nicoise and asparagus soup with seared scallop. Tuna nicoise is a genius idea with all the best elements of a salade nicoise without the unnecessary greens. The soft boiled quail egg was an excellent touch. The succulent scallop was paired nicely with the rich base on the soup. For main courses, I had seared scallops (again) & calamari with angel hair pasta and my partner had herb crusted halibut. My scallops were again wonderfully succulent, calamari was light and crispy, and the side pasta was very tasty but not heavy at all. We had a wonderful meal by the window overlooking the ocean We were hoping to see a pod of orcas swimming by but we were not as lucky as the diners the week before. She said it takes 40min if we are ok with waiting. we haven't experienced service like this yet here in BC. She was so sweet and gave us a call when our crabs were done so we went and had drinks at the nearby bar while we waited. Not only did she stay late for us but she was gracious about doing so. Anyway, we took the crabs back to our hotel room and had a little crab fest on our balcony! It was amazing! Then we were able to come into the store at around 6 AM to pick it up before heading to the airport. Everything was packaged perfectly for our flight and they made the process extremely easy.
