I recently lost my wife. A devastating death from ALS. We signed with Neptune 4 years ago and my wife was brought immediately to Lake Mead for preparation upon her passing. At first I was a little upset as I felt Neptune was dragging its feet to complete the process and acquire the appropriate paper work and certificates. I spoke with the FD who is also the Neptune Vegas manager and learned the government was involved with NV state laws controlling when our loved ones will be available, Of course ! Even in death the government is looking out for us ! lol ! Since my Itinerary differs from what the government knows whats best, it was dragged out not to my satisfaction. The FD made some calls and was able to speed up the cremation and had the certifications issued. Neptune understood my anger and went above and beyond to rectify the state's absurd way of operating. 5 stars for Ms Jones and her staff. read more

Very disappointing and uncomfortable experience I recently had someone from Neptune come to my home, and unfortunately, the experience was very uncomfortable. From the moment she arrived, I felt pressured and was disappointed by the way she handled the situation. She rang my doorbell repeatedly and then used my Ring doorbell repeatedly as well. By the time I was able to get to the door, she was banging on my door. I understand that she was there to discuss the arrangements and obtain a signature, but I did not feel that this aggressive approach was appropriate, especially at my home. What was even more upsetting is that after she left, I noticed that my welcome sign, which had been on my front door, was missing. I cannot say that she took it because I did not see her do so, but the timing was concerning, particularly because the only reason she seemed upset was that I did not sign the paperwork. This experience left me feeling uncomfortable and pressured during what is already a very difficult and emotional time for my family. I believe customers should be given information and time to make an important decision without feeling intimidated or pressured into signing something immediately. I hope Neptune takes this feedback seriously and addresses how representatives approach customers in their homes. read more

"There's no such thing as a free lunch," said a Nobel laureate, who never got bombarded with offers from cremation companies. Au contraire, there's always a free lunch as long as you sort of listen to a sales pitch about becoming a Neptune Society client. I attended, solely for the French Dip with au jus at Mimi's Cafe, since I don't spend time thinking about death. I'll cross that bridge (that's about to collapse) when I get there. A very pleasant saleswoman named Jeri, who had no curls in her hair, offered some options on disposing my lifeless body before buzzards get there first. I don't mind the thought of being dry-roasted and scattered, as it seems less ghoulish than a corpse being embalmed and preserved a thousand years while stuck in a claustrophobic coffin all spiffed up in a suit and dumb looking bowtie. No thanks, I have trouble sitting my butt still for a half hour so just burn me and get it over with. Besides, does it really matter where one's ashes are scattered since it's all symbolic? Eventually you'll absorb back into the Earth, whether released into a grassy green meadow with chirping songbirds or in a dimly lit alley behind a bar where groups of loud, slobbering humans congregate. 'Spose I'll go with the grassy meadow, if given a choice. At the very least though, Neptune's cremation service will give my kids less to deal with after my passing so they can focus on their mall-to-mall inheritance spending spree. The total price for Neptune's services was surprisingly low. The basic plan was only a couple grand and change, and it comes with a few nice options. One of them is to be placed inside a container with tree seeds and dirt, so that your ashes will be ingrained with a deciduous tree as it grows (maple, oak, cherry, weeping willow, etc.). You can also be put in a traditional metal urn, an ornate marble box, or even inside a blown glass sculpture. No need to compare prices with other companies while letting them feed me lunch too, because I trust Neptune and they've been around since I was a kid. As a new client, my job now is to make them wait as long as possible because there's never any real hurry to be placed on a large baking sheet inside a pre-heated oven that hovers between 1500-1700 degrees F. When the presentation was open for questions, I felt obligated because the other attendees seemed more polite: "Can we be confident you're not just filling our urns with ashes collected from a firepit at some random campground site?" "What if we outlive Neptune? Let's say your company goes Chapter 11 and y'all die before we do?" Jeri patiently explained how the entire process of cremation is highly regulated and her words were very reassuring. I now know that Neptune Society will properly prepare me for The Final Countdown (nod to 80's group 'Europe'). Dying eventually happens to a lot of people, more often than you may think...so enjoy life as long as you can, because the reward for making it this far is an outstanding lunch at Mimi's Cafe, free of charge. It's almost to die for. (Note to those currently in mourning: sorry for your loss and hopefully some levity helps) read more

Not a review I ever wanted to write. But the reality of life is that death is certain. A few weeks ago my mother was placed on hospice, following a battle of 8 months of her recurring cancer from 9 years prior. We were given the devastating news that she had about two weeks. After sharing with the hospice that her wishes were to be cremated, they gave us the recommendation of using a third party over going through Palm, which is the main spot in town. It is generally cheaper to do so, so my dad looked up on Yelp some companies and we came across Neptune Society. One of the most difficult meetings I've ever been in was this meeting with the sales rep from Neptune Society and my dad, not because of anything the company did, but because of the grief my father and I were experiencing in real time. I definitely felt like I was in a daze and like I was in the twilight zone. The sales rep was late, but it wasn't like we were leaving the house or going anywhere. I don't recall his name, but he was a little odd, however very knowledgeable and informative. My dad asked a lot of questions, wanting to make sure my mother would be taken good care of following her death, and he answered all very clearly and well which I appreciated. They do provide some beautiful kits that also include thank you cards, which I thought was nice. However, the standard packages come with a box for the remains. We're a little more traditional so we asked if we purchased our own urn, if we bring that in could they place her remains in there. The sales rep said not a problem, and also let us know that we could purchase one of theirs that they had in their store, too. We filled out the forms and he inputted the information for us. Little odd, but they do send the box a.k.a. the urn to your house prior to. I'm assuming because most people make these arrangements much earlier prior to the end of life. The sales rep did let us know this though so it didn't catch us off guard, which I appreciated. The only thing about Neptune was that the sales rep had inputted almost all the information incorrectly. My dad's name was incorrectly listed, my mom's birthplace was incorrectly listed, hell, even my mom's name was listed incorrect. Kinda alarming. But my dad reached out and they fixed everything quickly in their system. It took about two weeks before we were able to pick up her remains. I went with my dad and we brought the urn we had purchased online. The woman that met with us to give us the paperwork and give us her remains was super kind and soft spoken, which I truly appreciated. They also emailed my dad and offered a 12 week email program that helps you deal with grief, and it's completely free to use, which is a nice touch. Even though the sales rep messed up the names, I would recommend using Neptune Society as they did fix the mistake and I truly think my mother was handled with immense care. Also, the pricing isn't as bad as what other cremation places charge as well. read more

I called them and set up a zoom call to discuss our situation. We were not in need yet. The rep seemed fine though he wanted to do a in-person follow up. FOR WHAT? I don't do that, so he sent the information and forms I needed to fill out. Also sent a booklet. After reading that, I had a question, so i emailed him and when I got no response in a few days, I called. No answer to the phone call. Not good, esp. since it's important to be able to take care of this on a moment's notice. I would NOT recommend them. Be very careful. Call at different times of the day and night to see if they answer. I was able to find a regular cremation service near home that answered the phone at off hours AND was cheaper! Don't get involved with this place unless you want to have trouble at a distressing time! read more

I have yet to complete the "cycle", but it's good to know it's taken care of. One day I will join too. When I initially visited their office to set up service for my father, who was in home hospice, I was treated with kindness, respect, and professionalism. There was no effort to upsell me or to prey on my grief--as I've personally experienced with funeral homes. The experience was efficient and considerate. When the time came, the people who picked up my father were kind and respectful and made a difficult experience better. I was kept aware of the process through courteous and considerate calls, that ensured I was in the loop. In fact, my experience was so positive that my husband and I recently enrolled ourselves--an in-home experience that was just as positive and pressure-free as my first. I can't recommend Neptune Society highly enough for their services, commitment, courtesy and professionalism that make difficult times and potentially hard decisions as pleasant as possible. read more

Most importantly, I think their contact is MORBID!! I don't appreciate their marketing to me at a senior citizen apartment complex and I don't know if I should file a grievance with the Better Business Bureau or what!! When I called the office and spoke with the person whose name was John, he acted dumb as if he thought we we going to his office. Is there any business in Las Vegas that does their job? I was very disappointed with the customer service in Alabama. The night my mother died I was routed to several people and was finally told to expect a phone call within 20 minutes. I never received a call. I gave the nurse the number to call and she could not get through to the Neptune Society either. After much waiting we finally were able to reach them. Holly was helpful with the obituary and did well. Then a few days later i inquired about the death certificate and was told the hospital had not signed off on it yet. I still had heard nothing about if my mother had been taken to the funeral home or if she had been cremated. I called one week later and was told she was at the funeral home but Holly was waiting on paperwork. 30 minutes later after being told they were waiting on paperwork, I receive a call from Holly saying she was cremated yesterday and that the death certificates were being put in the mail today and I was given a tracking number. Our practices have been streamlined from city to city." Do your own investigation into the trust funds that your prepaid funds are placed.
