Painful Excruciatingly depressing Triste, fear, anxiety, massive overeating I see black, the grim reaper, insurmountable sadness This is the last review of this year because I think it's a shedding for my *redividus. The weight & burden of a death is sometimes too much to bear. I try to be positive & cheerful since but sometimes I retreat to festination. I think this could help someone because in the moment, you are pretty frozen & also not able to make decisions but you have to. Il faut.... After my father passed, it was not only necessary to locate a Final resting place but also, you feel more than stressed about everything that needs to be planned. The choices seem myriad. It's the worst time to consider anything. But tally ho...as it must be done. I'm almost sure dad didn't want cremation. Plots seem soooo complex. The closer ones are more expensive due to proximity. Location, location, location - who knew. Buying a resting place is akin to fine prime real estate or AOC** champagne. There are rules of what can be placed. And what exactly is a maosoleum or family crypt? After looking at various available burial plots, my mom & I were boggled. The various prices depended on location. Then we were told that you had to get the mandated grave liner that I believe was $6K. It was about $40K plus or minus. On top of that various flat or elevated grave markers from 10K to ornate $300,000 granite hand carved monoliths. Finally, there are outdoor maosoleums to ponder. Yes, we were there probably 5 hours. I figured for $80,000, we may as well get a couch crypt. Moi mom just wanted to get 1 not the double for 2 people above ground. There's a mandatory "Ensuraseal" that's a separate 3K. That's a plastic seal around the casket that's mandated for above ground crypts (since it's not in-ground.) We looked at myriad E facing, West looking, ones that looked shady-ish (for the hot sun when we visit) & ones by the "lake" that had a fountain. If you feel tired or gloomy while reading this, it's pretty much a million times worse actually being there. Hence, please see above top reference to comfort food.... My mom really liked the lake/fountain beauty aspect. It IS peaceful & awe inspiring. Since you can't take it with you...I advised her to just go for it! It seems resplendent & befitting moi dad who did so much for so many. 10% down, 5 different credit cards usages + plus a check later we were the reticent owners of an eye level E couch crypt. The less expensive ones are at the top A, B, C or bottom F. Yes, another price differential that we are quoted. I will add more details in an update, because yes, wait... there's much more. This is the burial plot primer basics. If we could live forever, none of this info is pertinent. Almost no one that I know has preplanned. But it certainly is better to figure out way in advance because even now, plenty of times that I feel cloudy headed. English is my mom's second language and Jessica was so patient, encouraging and understanding. We never felt any pressure from her, she was so communicative and we never felt like we were bothering her despite having so many questions. Our experience with the good folks at Palms NW was wonderful. Of course having to deal with the loss of a loved one is extremly difficult but the staff here really lessened the blow. We were fortunate to meet Jessica in the process of burrying my FIL and she was so eager to help. Jessica helped make the service exceptional and then she heard a need that my wife and I had for the future and told us when we were ready to reach out. We did reach out and she showed us that something we gave up hope on being able to happen could be done in planning for ourselves. We were so excited she knew how to help us and we made arangements for us as well. She is AMAZING! The entire staff at Palms NW are truly proffesionals. I'd recommend them to anyone! read more

The worst customer service ever. The manager is unsympathetic and dismissive of any of your concerns. They throw away decoration from your loved one's graves as if it were common junk. They don't post on their website as to when they are clearing out decorations. They post signs here and there, but not in every section of the cemetary. We cleared my mother's grave, except for the vase itself. It had brand new flowers and a beautiful picture of our family in the vase. When we went today, everything in the vase, including the family picture was thrown out. So heartless. What's even more irritating, is that they are selective of what graves are cleared. Some of the larger gravesites are never cleared. I guess the more you spend, the more privilege's you receive. Going to file a complaint with the Nevada Funeral and Cemetery Services Board. This cemetery is all about the bottom line, not about the grieving families. read more

Beware!! Make certain you have everything in writing. I heard one thing when I was making the arrangements, but as time went on, multiple things that I understood were different. When questioned, I either get "You misunderstood what we told you" or "It is a problem with our supplier and I have no control over them." NOTHING is EVER their fault! The blame is always on you or their supplier. It is now going on a month since I first requested a headstone and sat down with Clarissa to point out exactly what I wanted. When the mockup came back over a week ago, it was wrong. They did not put the correct etching in the top left corner. Clarissa even confirmed that it was not what I ordered. She said she would put in the change that day. Up til now, there is no new mockup to be approved. All they had to do was change one etching from their book to another! Simple! I texted Clarissa and again, "it is a problem with the supplier". Just know, if you go to Palm Northwest, you are in for MONTHS of headache and frustration. If you go, get EVERYTHING in writing or you will be sorry! read more

This is one of the hardest reviews I have had to write. The ceremony and services were exceptional. The mortuary is very clean, peaceful, and pleasant. The convenience of having everything in one location made it easy to deal with the passing of our loved one. I am rating it a one star because the funeral person assigned to our family for the entire process was very rude and disrespectful. It was very unpleasant from the moment we arrived until we left. She was cold, mean, and showed no empathy towards our situation. At one point a family member had to speak with someone about the way we were treated. This has been one of the most unwelcoming experiences we have had here. We have 5 family members buried here and until now, have never had such a disappointing experience that went from almost being denied attending the private viewing (we are the biological children), to being kicked out in a very unkind manner, using a loud and stern voice. After reaching out to several people for answers on why we were treated with such animosity, it obviously fell on deaf ears. Clearly this was just a business transaction and I have to state that it was definitely not worth the value for the treatment we received. If I could exhume all our family members here and move them elsewhere, I would not hesitate to do so. There was only one person there who actually treated us with dignity and respect through several of the services we have had in such a short time. We had 3 family members die within the span of 18 months and it is so heartbreaking that we were not treated as human beings, grieving the loss of our beloved mother. Clearly the word "Dignity" should be removed from their copyrighted name of the parent corporation. Although their website states the following "We do this by listening, caring and guiding each and every family who walks through our doors." This was not the case for any of our family members. While they may seem "professional" when they are making arrangements with you, BEWARE of the treatment you receive when you walk through their doors! read more

I have spoken to several consultants and they are unable to locate my accounts unless I have the account number. I have paid for all my cemetery and funeral costs but because I didn't pay all at the same time, there are several accounts. I also married and have a different last name. My concern is if I pass away, will my children be able to call and get my information? My kids are just the type to pay for my services if they are told PNW can't find my account. They have told me this several times. How many other bereaved families are paying for all or part of the funeral services twice because Palm Northwest "cant find the person in their system"? There is so much misinformation whether intentional or not that this company should be investigated. read more

Shannon had sent me a text message telling me that the grave was cleaned up. I sent my sister out there to look at it. I could not look at my son's grave as filthy as it was full of poop from the ducks and black bugs everywhere needless to say the half moon container I had made they are telling me they can't locate. I received a text telling me that Jimmy's grave was cleaned up so my sister went out there and it's still filthy. I had asked Shannon to take a picture of the headstone and send it to me (she didn't) now I know why, because she didn't have it cleaned. So not only is this place unsympathetic they are also liars. This has been such an awful experience for me. I think more people need to know about this. read more

The people just don't care. It's a horrible place. I wouldn't recommend this location. They just throw everyone's decorations away. Several people were not aware & upset so it's obviously the mortuary's poor communication. They're also very rude. Very disappointed in this center. They don't notify that you have to take decorations down for maintenance and they just trash them. They post a notice in the cemetery for a week and if you happen to not go that week you're not aware. This is my first time burying someone and decorating a grave. I had no idea this happens. They don't tell you in any of the paperwork when you're burying your loved one. They truly don't care and it's very hurtful. They also told me I should've checked the website. Why would I have checked the website after she was buried? Makes no sense. read more

Bo was the 1st person we met. She carefully guided us thru all the procedures of planning and answered all of our questions thoroughly and patiently. Bo really went out of her way to accommodate our family at such a sorrowful time. We then met with Gricelda who was just as heartwarming as Bo. Again, very patient but thorough in guiding us thru this very difficult stage. She even offered other options to help with costs. On the evening of the wake, gricelda and the staff organized the room as we planned, plus added some very special detail that was specific to the things our fallen loved one liked. This was ONLY supposed to be for the actual service, and we are extremely upset at the lack of sensitivity over something so private. This was a tragic and unexpected death of a child and we are not happy with this part of your service at all. When we talked to the guy who was able to remove them, he didn't apologize once and frankly, was pretty rude about it. read more

She was kind, understanding, professional and lovely. She presented us with the options available to us for funeral arrangements, cremation, urns and niches. One of my dear friends passed away and his viewing was on September 3, 2020 with interment on september4, 2020. I was not able to attend the services but this mortuary allowed the family to have viewing by Zoom for friends and family that could not make it there to pay their respects and grieve in person. I joined Zoom and was able to talk with a lot of my friends that made there in person. The service was beautifully setup and the venue was covid-19 compliant from what I saw and they maintained a first class service. The flowers were arranged perfectly around my deceased friend and he looked like he was sleeping natural...this is what you look for in a funeral service. Palms Northwest Mortuary threw away my 7 week old daughters Christmas tree! She is placed in the garden of innocence and every single ornament was hand picked and special !!!! She had a special crown, unicorn, pink heart, gold shoe!!! Everything took me days to get and going from store to store. Screw how much I spent on the stuff thats irrelevant! It all meant something to me! This was her first Christmas. Her first Christmas spent without us. This last year has been so hard. The holidays were even harder. I came here to attend a viewing service for my cousin. I was extremely impressed with the thoughtfulness of the mortuary. They listened to my aunt and my family and incorporated my cousin's personality in the decor. I felt more like I was at a wedding reception than at a funeral home, and that was fine because it was a nice celebration of life for my cousin. The staff were kind and professional. I watched several of the kitchen staff go above and beyond to make the food beautiful and presentable. Restrooms were spacious and clean.
