The owner of Manta is one of those. He oozed with trading card knowledge and knew things from different releases off by heart. He knew his inventory like the back of his hand so that if we mentioned a card, he had an idea if they had it or not and found it for us. Thanks for helping us to find multiple fat Pikachus for our collection. Outside of Pokémon, Manta has a variety of TCG and collector items. I saw One Piece, Disney, YuGiOh, etc. There's also a sitting area which looks like a place where tournaments are held. You also know a shop is great when you have other shops recommending them, which is how we found Manta in the first place. They came highly recommended from another hobby hot spot of ours (Three Kingdoms).

Interior is completed renovated - it's quite nice and a lot more classy than it initially first started. There are different rooms - dedicated to either Mahjong or Murder Mystery or just simple board games. Staff spoke mostly in Mandarin - generally pretty nice when we dropped by. Setup/Drinks You can either do a min $25 per person to play board games - which can include drinks to order. No time limit (I believe). A wide variety of Chinese/English games available - so there should be something available for your liking. You can also do Murder Mystery - this is in Mandarin - and it's around $30-$40. Basically you are given a role and you retell your story and find out from others who would be the killer. The staff would be a facilitator to help navigate/direct flow of the game. You can also do Mahjong - this is around $100-$125 per table, no time limit. Drinks are extra though - we ended up getting a free drink because the owner was a little nice to us for coming in for the first time. And there was a small hiccup with the mahjong table - which is an automated one, where it would auto shuffle and assemble for you. For drinks, I won't comment too much - it was pretty basic - and it ranges from bubble tea to slushies to just flower tea. The mahjong table was pretty cool - and since it was our first time coming in after their renovation, it was a nice try. We ended up staying there for almost 3-4 hours, just you know cause it's mahjong. I feel this place is more opened to the Mandarin population and not out to the public. They do have a WeChat account and you can talk to the owner directly to setup any gaming preferences.

The salesman with long hair became visibly anxious as soon as we entered the store and immediately started blaming my kids for an already-opened plastic bag. The attitude was completely unnecessary and uncomfortable. My kids were also blamed for touching the squishies, which are literally products being sold to children. There are much better ways to speak to customers and children. We definitely won't be coming back.

There's no place like bliss in E-Canada. Staff is friendly, they answer quickly and very professionnally. I never visited mainly used online business but would (and have!) recommanded it to all my friends. I honestly haven't made them exercise their customer service skills because I research my board games and know exactly what I want. But I can see that newbies could be overwhelmed with all the options coming in. We decided to buy a board game for a friend's child, age 6. My boyfriend ran off to find a game at Meeple without consulting me first. He came out empty-handed, saying there was nothing suitable for that age range. I'm SURPRISED. There's a board game for everything there. I'm not an expert for games for six-year-olds, so I just Googled, found a dad blog and decided Catan Junior was it and purchased online here. They processed our order immediately and were ready for pick up the same day if needed. The truth is my BF was about to check out at Indigo, which is 30% more before I reminded him to check at Meeple again for prices. The only difference *I think* is the packaging art is slightly different and the box is larger at Meeple. If their staff actively asks every customer walking in and tries to help, they can convert more casual or newbie gamers--what a lost opportunity.

You don't get customer service like that anymore! All the games are also much cheaper than you would find at Chapters or Mastermind Games. They've also got tons of other nerd stuff like comic books, figurines, and superhero paraphernalia.
