I snagged a bar seat, which if my preference when I am a solo diner. You are right in the middle of the action and it never feels lonely. The menu changes daily based on what is at the market. I was there in the summer and asked the staff for a recommendation (something I always do when I eat alone). They pointed me toward a salad I would not have ordered on my own. It was a mix of arugula-style greens with beet and watermelon that hit sweet, savory, and salty all at once. The chicken with fresh peaches was equally great. Everything tasted like it belonged together on the plate. Then the panna cotta. This was the grand finale. Easily the best I have ever had. Smooth and creamy with that texture that is just barely set, still a little loose. It came with what I believe was a grape must sauce and I am still thinking about it.

It has been a welcome delight with meals. It was a tasty dish. I had the opportunity to try the Ossobucco (veal shank) with saffron risotto. Wow, the veal was incredibly tender. Loved it and would have preferred it over the cutlet. The risotto was supposed to be a Milan specialty, so it was nice to try. And the bread plate? How often does the free bread plate get its own entry? Well, these bread "chips" (?) were so good...fresh (see picture). they practically melted in the mouth. I couldn't get enough. The bread and chilli oil starter was fresh and tasty and was an incredible preview of the dishes that were to come. We started off with vegetarian pizza which was incredible...having had pizza so often during our trip we were blown away by how delicious this vegetarian pizza was. And just when we thought nothing could top the pizza out came another incredible dish - a mushroom and zucchini risotto. Each dish was a marvel and yet again the owner/chef presented us with another outstanding dish - pear and cheese ravioli with poppy seeds. Each dish danced on our taste buds sending waves of euphoric delight. We ended the meal with tiramisu and coffee - which we agreed was the best we ever had. The authenticity and sincerity of the owners/chefs shines through their food. They really put their heart into each dish. The owner was kind and stopped by to create some banter. At first, I thought they were giving us privacy, but everyone around us had their tables cleared and were offered dessert while we sat with our finished plates for at least five minutes. When we finally got up to leave, they stopped us to offer dessert, which was a nice gesture, but by then, the experience had already soured.
