I went for an eyebrow/upper lip wax because I have important pictures to take today. The esthetician left me burnt. Never going back again, not safe and now my pictures will have this burn. Disappointed because it was so nice physically. I had high expectations.

Beautiful bright storefront

I'm a huge fan of experience as well as just a good service. Neroli delivers on both. My biggest fear with this location was parking, but so far on Saturday mornings I've always been able to park on the same street or just around the corner - closer than I was able to ever park at the Third Ward location. Everyone is always friendly and you're greeted on arrival with a warm towel and something to drink. Lexi is my go-to and she always takes the time to see what I'm thinking about my hair and does a great job of offering suggestions versus giving what I want. I really love that she looks out for me my remembering different products that I like and telling me about what's new. My color always turns out rich and beautiful. One of my favorite things about the experience is getting my hair rinsed after a color. A reclining chair has a spot to put my feet up, I also get a head massage, and sometimes a hand massage as well. Bliss!! So why not 5 stars? It's not a big deal, but the processing area (where you wait with color on your hair) is a small bench in front of the washing stations. For me to give the 5 stars of perfection, I'd find a nice out of the way space to sit with more comfy chairs.

Subtle update, serious fix by Samantha~

Was fortunate to slide into Samantha's schedule for a color-fix and a cut-tweak. She is a passionate expert, consultative, adventurous and very talented~

Ridged dye job inches away from my scalp

I saw Kirsten, who greeted me kindly and on time, and showed me to my chair. I was getting a partial highlight, and told her I had previously seen Sally (whom I loved) and was very happy with what she did. Kirsten said great, she would look in the computer and see what Sally had done previous, and came back quoting me a price of $125. (!!???) I've never paid that. But okay.....I asked if I could see a color swatch of the color she had mixed. She said "It doesn't really matter, because they're not real hair on the example swatches anyways, and it always turns out different on the client." Again, I was baffled. Previous stylists at Neroli had always been very thorough in showing me the color swatches. But I thought, she's the professional, I'll just let her work. She began by slathering my head with a very dark mixture. Panicked, I asked her what she was doing. I had never seen highlights applied like this! She said "you want your roots touched up, right? Highlights won't do that." I politely said no, I don't want whatever you're doing. Please do partial highlights. (I'm honestly not sure why this was so complicated, but I won't jump to the obvious conclusion - that she was purposely trying to upcharge me.) I honestly was ready to overlook it. She washed the dye out and we continued with the appointment. As she was doing the highlights, I noticed she wasn't putting the foils up to the roots - rather, she was starting a half inch or so down from my scalp. Strange, as other stylists at Neroli have always been careful to get the dye directly to the roots. Again, I thought - she's the professional, I should trust her. Only later did I learn from my stylist friend this is a common ploy to get you to come back sooner for your next dye job. I have no idea what Kirsten's motivation was in not putting the dye all the way to the roots. Never did I indicate I wanted an ombre look, this was a very straightforward partial highlight. Kirsten finished the appointment. The color turned out totally strange looking to me, but she said it "went with my skin tone". Again, what do I know. I'm just the customer. When I got home and the color started to settle, I was horrified. There were large, unusual looking chunks - as though she completely skipped the weaving, and just dyed a large portion- but only at my temples. When I started looking at the other layers of my hair, it appeared as though she simply dripped peroxide on it. There were large dyed ridges where the foil stopped (an inch or so from my head) and other had literal spots of dye. SPOTS. Not streaks, dime sized spots, spotting my head. I immediately got on the phone with Neroli. I currently have an appointment 2 weeks out to see her again. I hope that this can be repaired at no cost to me - I tipped her $20 on a $70 bill, and I don't believe I owe any more money to the salon for a color correct.

I made an appointment with Kristin online. I chose her because she was one of the cheaper stylists at the salon according to the site. When I sat down in her chair, I told her what I wanted, and she was accommodating with what I needed. I also mentioned that I had been to the bayshore location with a separate stylist. When she came back to me with the estimate I was expecting her to say something around $200 (the website estimated $150), but no.... $350. That is the most I've ever paid for a hair style in my life, but I justified it because I was asking for pink and teal and I thought maybe that was just more expensive. Anyways. She began processing my hair and wasn't very good at making conversation, but again I justified it because maybe she was having a bad day or something. Then, as we were washing out my hair, she began gossiping and whispering with another stylist. I don't think that's professional at all, and I found it to be really immature. When we were finished I was really happy with the color, it was perfect. Then, about a week later, GONE. now, I've used Aveda hair color for about a year now, and I've never had this issue. I think she did this intentionally to get me back there for a touch up as soon as possible. I feel extremely taken advantage of, and I wished I wouldn't have wasted my money on something that literally lasted a week. It's pretty safe to say I won't be going back to neroli on the east side.

My SIL posted a negative review on The Knot, and I agree with the content of her review. Unfortunately, Brittany responded with mistruths, which has motivated me to reply with my own review. DO NOT HIRE Brittany for your wedding. When my wedding was postponed because of covid, all of our vendors were extremely accommodating except Brittany. She did not want to allow me to use my $330 deposit toward a new date in 2021. To retain her services I would have to pay another $330 deposit for the new date and forfeit the previous deposit. I clearly postponed the date 2 months in advance, and she responded "OK I will cancel out your contract." She apparently held that date, then blamed me for lost business because of this. I did not ask her to retain my original date. Ultimately, after asking her to reconsider the transfer of my deposit, she relented. She was available for the new date, and sent a new contract to hold it. Before signing the contract, I told her about a revised number of applications - more people now wanted makeup, surpassing her maximum. I had discussed this scenario before signing the first contract. I asked "what is your policy about adding or subtracting people? Does it matter as long as there are 5 people minimum?" and she said "just a 5 person minimum, not going over 10." I was just being transparent, and she was going to do 5 people instead of 8. I hired a second makeup artist, making Brittany very upset. I explained the situation, but that did not assuage her. She demanded another $200 deposit or that I pay for 8 makeup applications (even though she was doing 5). Brittany felt disrespected and no longer wanted to provide her services, escaping with my deposit. I agreed to terminate our relationship. I didn't want her bad juju on my wedding day. I must respond to the review from my SIL. Brittany misrepresented our conversation. Her quoted text "proving" her flexibility was sent to me after we agreed to go separate ways. I did hire her 3 days after my trial; the time allotted before you lose the hold on your date. It wasn't because I "loved" her work. The brows were too dark. The foundation was heavy and settled into the fine lines on my forehead and on the lines around my mouth from smiling. Brittany told me it was because I had dry skin. A peel and better moisturizer would make it look normal. After talking to an aesthetician and a dermatologist she was wrong. Brittany quoted me "word for word" that "I loved my makeup, it lasted all day and I would love to book you," which is false. The text actually is "I would like you to do my makeup...it lasted very well. I'm wondering if we could go a little lighter on the brows and use a lighter face makeup? I felt a little too made up in terms of foundation." Misquoting our conversation proves lack of integrity and disregard for the truth. I would NOT recommend Brittany to anyone. What I got was thick, caked on makeup that settled awkwardly on my face and was then blamed on my "poor skin." Brittany's responses were unsympathetic and untruthful. Brittany, I would expect you to want to learn from a situation like this so you can better your business and yourself. Brides, I hope you choose someone who cares about you as a person, not just as a business transaction. That person is not Brittany.

I spoke with her in-depth about her experience working with darker skin tones and she assured me she had foundation for every skin tone. I requested a very natural look with nude matte lips, matte foundation, and angelic eyes. Her first attempted she put black eyeliner on me, gold eye shadow, and bright ruby cheeks. I advised her it was too dramatic and looked like I had a ton of makeup on and that I wanted more of a subtle look. She didn't take the black off but instead added plum eye shadow. She did not blend my eye makeup very well. I showed her pictures of me with more natural makeup and she said "If you like that look you should do it yourself." She didn't say it in an offensive way but if I could do it why couldn't she?? Didn't seem like she cared whether or not she gained my business. I had my photographer take pictures of me after she completed my makeup and it was not stunning as any bride would want to look. I decided not to go with her because she didn't have foundation to match my skin, didn't blend my eye shadow, did not use or have natural colors, her makeup techniques are basic (not at all as displayed on her website. She didn't contour my foundation, use primer, curl my lashes, etc.) I tipped her an extra $5 out of courtesy but her skill level is not worth her prices. For her work she should charge $10 for a trial not $50 and $30 for onsite bridal service and not $200. Her work is amateur at best.

I've been to GADIS for facials, but never a spray tan so this was a first! Tiffany welcomed me and led me down to their spray room on the lower lever. Because it had been so long, I had a few questions, to which she answered: (1) I could shower after a few hours, (2) spraying my face was optional, and (3) the tan should last roughly a week depending on shower/scrubbing. Disclaimer: you need to be comfortable being completely unclothed for this experience lol. I was given a hair net and directed to use the provided lotion on areas like fingers, elbows, and knees to prevent any tan build up. The whole process took about fifteen minutes and I was definitely no longer looking pasty white by the end of it. It's weird but normal to feel a bit sticky for a while afterwards, but once you rinse off in the shower (water only for the first post-tan shower), you feel much better. All in all, recommend!

I started with a 35 minute express facial (which felt much longer) where she started with lymphatic drainage of my face and I left feeling dewy, hydrated and looking very happy and relaxed. Her sculpt and glow session is a more intense session where she couples lymphatic work with facial cupping to leave my face more snatched and glowy. I definitely saw a marked difference in my jawline a few days after the session. My latest session was the buccal facial where she worked on my jaw to release the stresses of constantly clenching and grinding my teeth. I felt much relief and after the initial soreness faded away, I noticed a visual change in my jaw line and overall health of my face. The red light therapy and on was also so therapeutic and my tiny pimple nearly disappeared a few days after. The salon is very calming and has a very soft ambience. Thank you again Justine for repeatedly taking care of my skin in a very holistic manner.
