We do come here for dinner typically everytime we come down to the beach because it never disappoints! Last night, for the 4th of July, we came with a party of 8. They told us it would be about a 45 minute wait but we got sat right away because we asked for first available. We ended up being seated outside by the water. (Thank goodness cuz inside was just too chaotic) It was beautiful! Our table was right on the edge, kinda scared, but cool. Im surprised there was no gate. I wonder how many people have fallen in? My husband and I always share chowder as an appetizer. As usual, delishous.. i got the Beachbake (haddock with 4 crab stuffed shrimp.) It was good, but not what I was in the mood for. The veggie was zucchini, squash and red peppers. Cooked perfect. And i substituted the rice for the coconut crusted onion rings.. OMG!! I could of had just those for dinner and been happy! Get those for your app next time your there! They are so big and crunchy and the tropical dipping sauce is so good too! I was about to eat the rest of it out of the cup with a spoon! Lol. Having those on the side is probably why I didnt enjoy my dinner as I should have. My husband got the fried grouper dinner. There fries are so big and crispy too! And they have some great tarter sauce. Very good sized portions! He was definitely full after. Some of the others: got the special, Bbq pulled pork sandwich, The sailors delight and boom boom shrimp tacos. The presentation for everything was great and no complaints about anything.. (except the mango margaritas seemed like they forgot the alcohol. But the Moscow mules were good) Our waitress was very attentive, personable, and on top of everything the whole time we were there. It got to be sunset time and what a perfect place to be to see the sunset! We loved where we sat watching all the people come up on their boats and dock and just walk up for dinner. I really wish I had room for some dessert because I wanted to try the Pina colada bread pudding might just make a date night and go for that. Apparently they do events! I took a pic of the info. Nervous Nellie's is a cute waterfront restaurant with ample indoor and outdoor seating on the river just under the north bridge. The menu is massive, but the food I ordered was just OK. I tried the Shrimp and Scallop Bruschetta which was served kind of like a gumbo soup with a side of too-crispy toast points. I wanted it to be so much better. And the cornbread was also not appetizing. I needed it a little drier (it was too soggy) and with some traditional butter. I'd go back and try a burger or something else, because the location is awesome and the service is really good. read more

Considering the S Show that this location could be (heart of tourist country) they do an amazing job staying organized and getting high quality food out to the masses...we had great fish chicken and sides! The outdoor space on the dock is a great chill area to wait for your table...they have turfed green space in front of the restaurant too that kids can run crazy on...or adults could setup a game etc... Great place to sit outside and enjoy a meal! The cornbread appetizer was delicious, especially with the house-made orange butter. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad, which was just okay--I would have preferred smaller pieces of chicken instead of the three large tenders on top. I guess I don't want to work for my meal and would prefer bite size. Unfortunately the blue cheese dressing was tasteless. My husband had the burger and absolutely loved it. It was cooked just right! Nervous nellies was recommended by many locals. It's in a good location near the beach and plenty of souvenir shops. They offer a nice happy hour and great views of the water. The seafood was fresh and the drinks were strong. we tried their signature pain killer (it's a must if you love coconut) and devoured the nachos after a day out on the water. Gianna was a great server with fun recs, taking pictures for us, and a smiling face. We'll definitely return next time we're on the island. read more

Every year we come to Nervous Nellie's when we're in Sanibel, FL. My family and I have some serious background history to this restaurant. The first time we came we were shocked because my grandmother was named Nelly and she was always Nervous We then made it a family tradition to eat here. Every year we come for my mother's birthday and every year we eat and enjoy. Nervous Nellie's is the place to be! It's like Sanibel'S Margaritaville but better! The service is always amazing, the food is always scrumptious, and you always leave with a full belly and an entertained evening. They have live music every night, and sitting outside watching the boats go by is always my favorite part. They survived the hurricane that tried to sweep it away but Nelly was just nervous enough to withstand, survive, and rebuild. We love you Nelly! read more

The portions have become extremely small, and to make matters worse, staff insisted that my cup of soup was "full" even though it was clearly only about half filled. The service was disappointing, with staff appearing indifferent and unconcerned about customer satisfaction. Food took an unusually long time to arrive, and when it finally did, the quality was mediocre at best. Unfortunately, the overall experience was frustrating from start to finish. Nervous Nellie's is a really cool looking place down right on the inlet on the Times Square side of the island. You first walked into a gorgeous foyer and then walk up the stairs to what has to be 20 foot ceilings. The place is really cool, but I can't even describe the vibe it gives. Everything from the vibrant, yellow pink, purple, green, colors to the hip bar. It's almost like old Havana meets 1980s dance club. The food is amazing but also has a price tag to match and comes with an edible flower. The kiddo got the snow crab and ate every bit of it. I did wish my nachos had a bit more meat on them. I didn't have any drinks while I was there but other people had them and they looked really good. I would highly recommend Nervous Nellie's. read more

Went with my family (5 adults), so we tried a lot of things. The spicy mussels at the start of the meal were a highlight! We also got the cornbread as a starter, and were disappointed in that. It was cold, and very dense, and sweet. Almost tasted like a cake. I got the fried haddock sandwich with fries, and it was really good! Someone else had the fish and chips basket, which was like three huge pieces of fish, and fries. Basically the same thing as mine, just a bigger portion for an extra $3 dollars. The tacos were also devoured quickly. The lobster grilled cheese sandwich was very tasty, and had a nice portion of lobster. Overall, the food was good! I would come back here. Unfortunately our server wasn't the most happy to see us, but I give them grace... although it wasn't busy. Maybe they were having a bad day. This is a class A restaurant! The wait to be seated was very quick! We made a reservation but despite arriving 30 minutes prior, we were seated immediately. The wait staff, Zaida, was OUTSTANDING! She was very fast with our drink order and was timely taking our dinner order. We ordered appetizers with our drink order and in less than 5 minutes was served hot. The onion rings with special dipping sauce were very tasty. Within 10 minutes of our dinner order the meal was served. I ordered the famous coconut shrimp. That meal has never disappointed with 8 jumbo shrimp. Plenty of FF and vegetables. Great atmosphere with a solo guitar player singing old time favorites. The beautiful surroundings made for a wonderful evening. We finished just in time to take the Short walk to watch the sunset on the beach. A must visit. When we got here it was about 6:30 pm on a Thursday. We were told we could sit anywhere outside! We grabbed a seat and got a drink. Service took a little while to get us out drinks but once we were past that, it was great! We shared the gator bites, bang bang shrimp and some fries. All were very tasty! We weren't all that hungry at the time, but all of the other food coming out looked great too! Well priced, especially for a big family. Good food, good service for a great price. Went to Nervous Nellie's, but sat upstairs at Ugly's, and the view is beautiful. Our waitress was very good. Had the devilish mussels. The marinara tasted canned and like paste. The mussels were terrible probably the worst meal we have had since being in Fort Myers Beach. Had the tavern bread have no idea how you made the food taste so bland but that was achieved and of course you have more of that terrible marinara sauce for the bread. We ate here multiple times last fall and everything I tried was delicious! Hands down, best fried mozzarella! We are still talking about those mozzarella planks 6 months later. Number one in location it's so beautiful under the Fort Myers Beach Bridge! Lots of gorgeous boats driving by and park nearby. The service was amazing. The waiter was very friendly and efficient. Our friends wanted us to try this location and invited us with them. They have been coming for years and loved some of their plates. To their disappointment all the plates they loved were no longer offered including the chicken salad sandwich & Avocado BLT so they were not very happy. The place was remodeled after the hurricane like most of FtMyers beach so its a nice environment to hang out at. They have both inside and outdoor sitting which comes with awesome views. We are in florida so be prepared to be cooked alive if you choose 12pm in the summer. Food was pretty good. I really enjoyed the boom boom shrimp and the coconut onion rings. Never had that style onion rings before and they use red onions so it's sweeter. The sweet tai chili dip was on point and a great pairing. I Wasn't crazy about the grouper sandwich. The menu says fresh but i suspect other wise not to say it's horrible but didn't taste like fresh catch. Not a fan of all that breading either. Normally I'd spring for a pina colada w/ a rum floater but I went for the virgin route since I'm "drinking for two" lol tasty blend! Bo loved his margaritas! We shared the Coconut Shrimp - fat, juicy shrimp with tasty coconut breading and a sweet tangy dipping sauce. YUM! Split the Fried Grouper Dinner w/ fries and sauteed veggies. The flavor and cook on everything was excellent. LOVED their tater sauce. Grouper was fresh and only lightly breaded (perfect!), good portion size.
