We were a little hesitant to try this place because of so many bad service reviews but glad we did because we didn't experience that at all! We arrived around 5:30 I think on a Saturday evening and were seated right away. Food came quick and they helped me navigate the menu with my gluten sensitivity. We loved sitting outside on the water, watching the boats and enjoying the breeze. I really liked my salmon! It was cooked perfectly and is the main reason for my four stars. The sides were just meh. I never really understand rice as a side at restaurants unless there's something special about it. The asparagus could have been cooked a tad better and the butter sauce was ok to me. My husband really likes his chicken fajitas and it was enough for two meals. We'd definitely return based on this experience! Fun place with good vibes. Another post-beach visit and today was definitely a 5-star experience! Guac and chips were out of this world delicious. I got the jerk chicken quesadilla and it was awesome. My husband loves his chicken sandwich and as always, it was spot on. I tried the watermelon margarita this time and really enjoyed it. A tad on the sweeter side because of the watermelon flavor but still great and refreshing after the beach. Outdoor patio seating is our favorite. They were also setting up live music on Sunday afternoon so check out their updates about who and when will be playing there if that's your vibe. Service was great as usual. Yucatan Beach Stand Bar & Grill Ft Myers Beach Stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon. Got a table fast and our waiter Quinton was on the ball with our drinks. I ordered the Clam Chowder for appetizer and we both ordered the Grouper Sandwich Blackened with Coleslaw, and my wife got the Rice & Beans. Our Clam Chowder came out first and it was very good I loved it. My Grouper Sandwich came out but somehow, they gave up my wife's Grouper Sandwich to someone else as explained by Quinton. He did say they were making another one for her as fast as they could. Mine was about halfway done when hers came out. These Sandwiches were huge and very good with all the fixing on them. We both could barely eat the entire meal and in fact we left with a doggy bag. The food here is very good and this place has such a great vibe it just feels like Ft Myers Beach for sure. Came here for lunch and had a decent experience. Upon our arrival, my group was determining on whether we should sit inside or out and the hostess seemed to be impatient when waiting for us to decide. Once we finally got our table, our serve came right away. I don't remember her name, but she was great. We ordered the quesadilla and Yucatán bread for an appetizer and the former was DELICIOUS. We didn't have any dishes so we asked the bus boy who brought the food out for plates and he never got them, so we had to eat on our napkins. The food itself in terms of the entrees were decent. I had the pineapple bowl and it was a decently sized portion and flavorful. Someone in my group got the fajitas and the meat was a little too overcooked. Other than that. It was good. We sat outside and it was BEYOND windy, despite it being 83 degrees out, but still cold. I would recommend bringing a sweater just in case. read more

The food is great, and the servers are friendly and personable. Some reviewers complain the service is slow, but don't come here if you're in a hurry with 20 minutes for lunch. It's an experience that is best enjoyed slowly and thoughtfully. They don't rush you to finish so they can turn a table, so take your time and enjoy yourself. The drinks are great, too! Hmm. My large family party went for dinner recently and were disappointed in our experience. Our waiter told us to "read the menu" when we asked about breaking up our checks into 3 parties. Apparently, if you're over 8-10 people they won't break up the checks and also add 20% tip. That was fine until we all paid nearly the exact amount in cash-- Mind you no refills were offered but they did leave some pitchers of water on the table. As for the food, it was just average at best. Some really like their food and others not so much. A note to management...many of us altered our order so we would not overburden our family that paid with cards if the tip was added to just them. Overall, it lowered the amount we spent and tipped. Probably won't be back. (We have been down fairly regular over the last 15 years bc my parents live here). read more

My favorite clam chowder in the area. I've had 4 different ones in the last week at different restaurants but theirs was my favorite. Shrimp was delicious and conch fritters had a really spicy dipping sauce that was so good. I've been going here forever but first time back since Isn and was very happy to see them again. We had a really nice time at Yucatan Bar & Grill. My son ordered the chicken fajitas, which came out sizzling and full of flavor, while I had the pot roast with mashed potatoes and a wedge salad. The pot roast was tender and comforting, paired perfectly with the creamy potatoes, and the salad was crisp and fresh. I also enjoyed a drink with my meal. The atmosphere was laid-back and family-friendly, which made it a great spot to bring my three boys while still being able to relax and enjoy myself. We have been several times and the atmosphere is cool but the food is typically mediocre (we never expect Michelin around here). This time, it was quite bad- especially the grouper tacos and service. The fish was cold and hard. It was inedible. When our server finally came back around to us (by the time we needed our bill), we mentioned this to him and his response was "sorry?" and just handed us the bill (as if he had no idea why we would be informing him of this issue). Loved this chill bar. While not right on the beach, it isn't far. It's a huge space with attentive service. Easy street parking too. We got some drinks and the scampi escargot and coconut shrimp right before heading to the airport. Wish we could have hung out here all day. Will be coming back for the seafood boil. I don't know if the restaurant was located on the beach before the hurricane -- I'd never been here before -- but for accuracy's sake, it's a block or so away. Having just moved to the area, we celebrated with frosty drinks. The lava flow is for those who can't decide between a strawberry daiquiri or a pina colada. Try it! Unfortunately, I have a propensity for high-fat, high-sodium Italian cold cuts. (I know, I know -- bad for you.) Yucatan's Italian sub is really good, with the option of getting it hot or cold. A tip: if hot, the bread crisps up, which I think is the way to go. T's grilled grouper sandwich was nicely seasoned. Something he'd get again. The coleslaw was good, too. Yucatan Beach Stand has a cool and relaxed vibe, whether one chooses to sit inside (which is somewhat like sitting outdoors, if that makes sense) or literally outdoors, on the patio. Drinks at Happy Hour were okay...Margarita and Rum drinks were tasty. BUT...... DO NOT ORDER FOOD! Lava Nacho's had very little beef and beans. Pretty below average for Nacho's . But the Grouper basket really really SUCKED. In fact I have never seen worse pieces of Grouper ( if it was Grouper). Most likely cat fish or haki. Saw an online ad for this place and we were in the mood for new and different. So we went. Loved the location just over the Ft Myers Beach Bridge and good onsite free parking.... Typical "beach Bar menu" but with some items like fresh oysters! I got the oysters and boom-boom shrimp. Boom-boom shrimp was blah-blah with entirely way too much breading. Do not order the boom boom shrimp. I ordered bottle beer but it should have been colder... My date got the sliders and 2-thumbs up on those. Our server was sweet and charming and she told us about the damage done by Hurricane Ian. The water level was "way up there!" We'll definitely go back and try other things on the menu. read more
