I'm a pescetarian so our meal was a burrata salad, corn puddin' (I died and went to heaven when I ate this), eggplant parmesan, and salmon with roasted veggies. For passed appetizers we had watermelon and mozzarella sticks and bourbon glazed meatballs. Then for a late night snack they made hatch green chile mac and cheese (I ate about a pound of the leftovers the next day they were so good) and green chile sliders. When I say truly EVERYTHING was delicious I mean it. Also, their customer service was phenomenal. They arrived on time, made everything fresh, constantly checked in on us, and even helped us set up our tables. We rented dishes and they were sure to collect everything and put it away for pickup appropriately. You're absolutely in good hands if you book them!

After reading the Reddit forums everyone said stay away from Albuquerque and any hotel that is near the freeway there. Well, shit, every single hotel is on the freeway. ...And that ladies and gentlemen is how we landed in Santa Fe. After reading the reviews in Santa Fe, we decided to stay at the Mystic because it sounded safe and breakfast was included. Also, the pet fee was fairly reasonable at $25 for the stay and $30 for a one time cleaning. Upon driving onto the property, you are met with paved gravel, ample parking, and rooms accessible only through the gate. What's cute about this motel (and most motels) is that you can drive up and park in front of your hotel room. This was no different. The standard room is tiny, but for 2 travelers met all of our needs. King size bed, bath and shower, mini fridge, and cable. The bed itself was comfy, but the pillows could really use a bit of an upgrade. It felt like a bunch of cotton balls, all in a pillowcase, and it was very difficult to sleep on. For the price of the hotel when we saw the continental breakfast, we were stunned! Bacon, seasoned potatoes, yogurt, oatmeal, fresh fruit, waffles, coffee, and juice. Incredible! They have an event venue in the back, which I've read hosts live music. If you're looking for a quick, overnight stay that is reasonably priced, this would be it. The remodel that was done is super cute and matches the theme of the hotel name.

It could be heard throughout the property despite the stated quiet hours of 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., and we weren't notified in advance. The event was also open to people outside the motel, which led to many non-guests parking in the main lot, which is limited, and hotel guests having to use overflow parking. Overall, it's a lovely and unique place to stay, but it didn't fully meet expectations particularly with breakfast and guest-focused amenities. There were no privacy blinds, only wooden shutters, and the artwork provided enough clutter to fill the room just in case you forgot your own luggage. Breakfast was the big show! Most of what we were served was delicious. For an extra $45 per person, you'll be given whatever the kitchen feels like making that morning... no choices, no allergy considerations, and not even a glass of water. Instead, you're handed an herbal infusion and expected to sip with gratitude while waiting 90 minutes for your dessert tart. But our group's disappointment simply must have meant we didn't understand the "magic" of the experience.
