This has to be the word nail salon in the area. I got a simple full set ombré last Friday, by Tuesday two nails had fallen off. By today 6 nails had broken so I took them all off. Barely a week. ..... I saw the reviews and decided to give this spot a try. After getting my services done here I feel so/so about this nail shop. I called and asked if they had time for pedicure (it was around 4:30ish on a Tuesday) I figured it was slow and I could get in and out. When I arrived I told them I called in and I was seated right away. There was a low volume of clientele and a few workers with nothing to do. For me the customer service was again so/so...I'm a new resident of RVA. Coming from the DMV area nail shop there are top tier so I'm use to that warm customer service, top tier nail products & more. Here is was again so/so. As this location looks nice it feels kinda "Dated" in here. I don't know how to feel about this place? It wasn't horrible but it wasn't the best either.... As for my pedicure the lady was very rough in the beginning I was almost scared as she took of dead skin with the sharp materials as several times it felt like she was cutting in my skin! I choice the basic pedicure and she did just that! It felt like she barely was touching my feet at times. (Now this would be the time she could actually be a little more aggressive with items that's not so sharp on my feet) And then AT the end they just put a few sprays of oil on my feet and sent me on my way.... Did I miss something? Do they not put lotion or mEssage oil at the end and rub that in like a mini foot message when they're done in Richmond nail shops? I got my eyebrows done on the day of the grand opening and was so disappointed my eyebrows looked no different than when I came in. She didn't brush my eyebrows before waxing, didn't pluck the left over hair that the wax didn't pick up. I feel it was a rushed job I will have to go elsewhere to get them redone read more

Went for a pedicure on a rainy day. Location was empty entire time. Pedicure was rushed. Feet felt worse afterwards. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Still tipped. I only mention tip because I assume they felt i wouldn't or they would've did better.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Didn't cut cuticles, no leg massage ...20 min from turning on water until I walked out . Spa pedicure 45 Regular pedicure 35 Polish change 15 I got a regular pedi and the service was horrible. First, the gentleman who greeted me when I first walked in acted as if I bothered him from whatever he was watching on his phone. "Gel or regular" is how the conversation went. I said regular and he pointed me in the direction to get the polish. I headed back and he pointed to the chair. I sat, he grabbed my legs and placed them in the water. He walked away to grab his phone and placed it beside him to continue looking at whatever he was watching. No worries, I brought a book to read myself. 10 minutes later he was done. He removed whatever residue was on my nails, scrubbed my feet with an old pumice stone (I'll have to see a podiatrist for the fungus I'm sure to get), clipped cuticles off my big toe only and did the polish. Last thing he said was "pay now". Not a thank you, not a come back again, not a have a great day, nothing. For that quick service I should have asked for a polish change only. The few times I've gone here it's the males that I have had issues with. So sorry that being a cosmetologist was their only choice. So no I don't recommend this place unless you're fortunate to get a female. Fortunately the last place I went to did such a phenomenal job! I won't skimp out on great service over a close location EVER again. read more

My friend and I went this shop because she likes to come here. I was highly disappointed. I received a soak off, overlay, pedicure, and eyebrows waxed. The pedicure was fine, but while doing my feet he soaked my previous set off. He attempted to put the bowl in my lap and I told him it wasn't going to balance. He aggressively pushed my legs together and I told him again it wasn't going to balance. Then he went on to do my overlay after my pedicure. He filed my thumb nail all the way to the meat. I always file and shape my nails how I want them to be before I get there. This man filed all my nails down. I had to say something to him. He burned me twice and everything. The best part was getting my eyebrows down by Hannah and she the reason for the two stars. Never will I come here again ! read more

IF YOURE WONDERING IF THIS PLACE STILL SUCKS IT DOES!!! This place is definitely not closed I got a full set here the nail tech i had was super rude-- put the wrong color on my nail and charged me to fix it. He did a super sloppy job.. which resulted in one of my nails breaking underneath..I came back around a week or so later for a fill in and i told the nail tech my nail felt broken underneath and that i was experiencing pain he insisted that it wasn't and continued to put more gel on to of my nail.. i just took my nails off today and they are completely destroyed and broken the pinky fingernail i told them was broken COMPLETELY came off and i have another nail broken in the middle! Not to mention the paint on my nail was peeling almost immediately after leaving the salon and was completely unrecognizable from how it initially looked after getting it done.. They charged me 120 for the initial set and 50 for the fill in totally overpriced and not worth it. read more

I have been a customer at Neu Nails for about 8 years an I can't say enough great things about them. You are greeted by the owner Ken when you enter and asked what you need. Most of the time Hanh takes care of my pedicure and facial hair waxing. She is wonderful as I have very sensitive feet. I have never been hurt or cut which had happened at other salons. This Nue Nails salon is okay, i like that I can always walk n and get done quickly. On this visit I got a pedicure and a fill in. A lady did my pedicure... She was perfect, not too much talking because I hate when they want to carry n a conversation and I cant understand half of it so I end up nodding alot. Lol.. Ayway.. Went here last night to get my acrylics taken off and a gel polish manicure done. First off, you could tell the man doing my nails did NOT want to be there. To top the cake, while removing my acrylics by shoving unused acrylics in between my real nail and the fake nail, he cracked my legitimate nail down the middle and to the quick. Needless to say, you could tell it hurt and he did nothing to help matters. All in all, a terrible experience and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, not even my worst enemy. read more

I normally always go here to get my nails done, but yesterday (11/2/17) i had a bad experience. First off i asked for long coffin shaped nails i always get my nails done long so I know the difference. All of the nails are not the same shape or length, in fact they are short/medium. As the guy who is doing my nails are shaping and filing them he not only cut one of my fingers but two on both side. So my fingers are bleeding and he tries to keep going i tell him be careful you cut my fingers with the file and he was still rough about it. When it was time to pay it came up to $30.00 i asked him was he taking any money off for cutting my fingers, he takes a look at them and says 25.00 I give him my card and he slightly snatches it. At this point I'm just like okay whatever, he brings my the receipt which now says $28.00. I asked what happen to the price he made up an excuse. So he gave me $2 off for cutting my fingers and possibly giving me an infection. HORRIBLE do not go here he had a bad attitude and the service was also. read more

STEER CLEAR. I went there to have my gel polish removed on recommendation by a friend. I didn't know what to expect because I've never had gel polish before. Apparently they didn't know what to do either. The guy buffed the polish off with a very course buffer and only minimum acetone soaking. My nails and cuticles were shredded afterward. My poor, previously very healthy and strong nails were left paper thin and rough as sandpaper with deep scrapes and grooves across the nail plate. When I objected, the guy offered a manicure and tried to push clear polish on me. The crappy manicure was nothing more than roughly filing my nails (they were still jagged and unshaped after) and pushing back my cuticles (I wasn't letting him near my cuticles with clippers). They still looked and felt like shit. The whole disaster cost $18. read more

First....this is not my regular spot but my nail tech was on vacation and I needed a quick pedi. After my gps directed me here I got the door and read info about covid etc. I walked in and there were two men and one women sitting down, no "Hello" or basic greeting....not good for business. Definitely not friendly. There were no other customers so I was able to get right in. I'm writing this as he works. Pedi is just average and I wouldn't say there was anything over the top that would make me return but given the change in business dynamics due to covid I would think customer service would be a bit better and service decent, at best. The man that did the pedi was a bit rough and most would prefer a gentler touch. Won't be returning unless I happen to be in an emergency situation on on this side of town. If you're looking for deluxe treatment and a nice relaxing experienc, in my opinion look elsewhere! read more

If I could rate this salon a 0 I would! My 2 daughters (16 & 21) were excited about getting our nails done and didn't want to travel to the West End. We decided to visit this salon because all the others were a bit too busy looking. We went in, sat down and we chit chatted amongst ourselves for about 15 minutes before we realized that no one from the salon had even greeted us. One of the workers walked towards us so we thought FINALLY, unfortunately she just reached for something under the counter literally in front of us! We ended up leaving. Service not consistent, prices vary depending on who's helping you. Visited the salon once for eyebrows and had a weird smell but the work was pretty good and no wait time. Second time came for a pedi and was still the same rotten smell. Also the first time I paid with my amex, the second time I came they said they didnt accept amex, when I told them I paid with it last week, they said that you can pay with it as long as it is a $50 min. I went to have a pedicure and ended up with a half done job. The person that did my "pedi" cut too much nail off of two toes (then acted like I came in like that), didn't file my toes smoothly or evenly (had to do it myself), they didn't massage my feet or legs nor put lotion on them (said she forgot) and to top that my feet were not smooth like a real pedi would cause them to be. My feet looked worse than when I entered!!! I would advise you to keep your money and patronage another shop-a real shop where they know what they are doing and willing acknowledge and correct their mistakes!!!!! -10 (negative 10) stars is my rating!!!!!!! If I could put less than 1 star, I would. I did not think it was very clean and should have followed my gut feeling and walked out immediately. All I wanted was my cuticles cut and polished. I did have a nail that started to crack. The technician had a hard time getting the glue out of the tube and when she finally did, it splashed all over by hands. After 5 minutes of trying to remove with acetone, I finally gave up (dizzy and nauseous), left the remaining glue on my hands and just asked to pay for what she had done-one of the other employees wanted to charge me the full fee!! In the end, they charged me $10 to have my cuticles cut, my hands glued and bathed in acetone! I understand accidents happen - but this was a very poor way to handle in my opinion. read more
