    two heart shaped boxes

This Neuhaus is a small hole in the wall shop at the corner entrance to Grand Central Station. They are low on selections here and also don't do the try a freebee chocolate custom I am used to at other shops. Don't know if they ran out of tissue wrapping with the small shopping bags you get when you buy, but considering you can pay $50 or $100 for a box of chocolate and having them skipping to save a penny is being real cheap and inconciderate by the shop.

These chocolates are to die for. Yes, they are extremely pricey, but definitely worth every dollar. Plus, they are just so gorgeously made and melt in your mouth in the most tantalizing way that you feel compelled to make them last for a very, very long time because you just can't justify the extravagance of eating too many in any one sitting. Seriously every chocolate in the box is a different decadent experience and each one will brighten your day! This location is great to: right next to the entrance of Grand Central Terminal. Perfect last minute gift that you can grab on your way out of/into town! Tip: For those of you trying to grab a box before a train, leave some time as lines can be a bit long.

Little red bag for the individual chocolates. Be mindful, I found their chocolates very sweet...

Several friends had said good things about this brand's chocolates. I finally decided to try it out since I pass by it almost every day. But I was not impressed at all. I went to this tiny lovely Grand Central location two days ago. The girl working there was welcoming and helpful. She will ask you questions to have a better idea of your likes and then give you recommendations (although she sounded a little like going through routine tasks...just a little). She also gave out samples, which was nice. I picked 5 or pieces from the case. I liked the smooth texture and the crispness of the chocolate shell. But overall, their chocolates are too sweet for me. Even though I asked the girl if one of the coffee flavored chocolate is sweet, she replied "it's more coffee than sweet". Apparently, we have different opinions on that. The lavender one was tasty. It's kinda special that it's dark chocolate with a hint of lavender fragrance coming afterwards. The coffee truffle was delicious, too. Tasted just like creamy coffee. Again, it would be more delightful if it was less sweet. I do NOT recommend the triangle-shaped Tentation (I may remembered the name wrong), which has praline in it. It was too sweet and didn't have much chocolate flavor. I was a bit disappointed about the chocolates. Maybe I should try their other chocolate products other than the individual ones.

Its not bad, its delicious luxurious chocolate Definitely not cheap, however their boxes have good assortment to satisfy any type of chocolate craving. I always get the box that pairs with different spirits, so its a great gift to give with a bottle.

Chocolate sampler squares (40 pieces for $25) - perfect for gifts

One can never go wrong with Belgian chocolates!! This place is awesome. A small chocolate store & a bit hard to find if you're inside Grand Central station itself - easier to see from the outside (located on 42nd Street a few doors down from Kenneth Cole & Banana Republic). Big shout out to MADELINE! She's an awesome chocolatier rep for Neuhaus. She greeted me immediately upon entering a few weeks ago - my first time stepping foot into the store. Came in to buy a gift but wasn't exactly sure of what I was looking for. Madeline immediately asked if I had been there before, I said no, & then she offered me to try one of their tasty chocolates behind the glass counter (a big sample size too - not a piece cut in half to save on portion control!). My tummy was satisfied. Still unsure of what to select for my gift, I left the store & came back a few days later. To my sweet surprise, Madeline was working again that day & she remembered meeting me a few days prior. Wow, impressive. I was very happy with my selection - a chocolate sampler of 40 pieces (thin chocolate squared in a variety of flavors) for $25 w/out tax. The box was wrapped nicely & handled well by Emily - store manager - and I was a happy customer. Belgian chocolates are not as sweet as some other well known brands / such as Godiva - but this chocolate is quality, and this store is centrally located & perfect for popping in for a quick sweet tooth fix or for gift purchases.

I love walking fifth avenue and sneaking in for my free sample. The store is well lit and very clean. Everything has a place on the shelf displayed evenly and tempting. The Neapolitan White Chocolate (NWC) variety is part of their limited time spring collection and was first introduced in 2020 (to the best of my knowledge). I'm going to begin with a brief tangent for those of you unfamiliar with Neapolitan Ice Cream. Supposedly it has its origins in the cuisine of the Italian city Naples and the Neapolitan immigrants who brought spumoni to the U.S. Spumoni is an Italian dessert that uses three different flavored (vanilla, cherry, and pistachio) layers of ice cream that resemble the Italian flag. Americans would put their own spin on it by replacing the cherry with strawberry and the pistachio with chocolate. Moving back to the NWC truffles, the outer shell is comprised of a smooth and creamy white chocolate infused with strawberry, while the equally smooth core is a melty milk chocolate and white chocolate truffle. Although Neapolitan is not a favorite ice cream of mine (fruity ice cream is not my thing), Lindt absolutely nails it with all three flavors clearly coming through. Like all the other truffles I've tried from Lindt, the texture is phenomenal. I was a bit skeptical going into this one and only picked these up out of curiosity when I spotted them on clearance. If they could win me over, then you have to give these a try if you're a fan of the ice cream flavor. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews My Favorite Lindt Truffles: 1. Birthday Cake 2. I am a devotee of dark chocolate, and have tried every dark offering it has. Each is superb, even flavor combinations I haven't historically adored (like orange and chocolate - I know it's popular, but it's just not my favorite). That said, my personal favorite is the Anastasia, a hazelnut and dark praline enrobed in dark chocolate. It is exquisite. Service is always excellent. I've ordered in person and over the phone, and have always been so pleased with the staff. The website is helpful when ordering a variety, but if you'd like an entire box of Anastasia, for example, you have to call the Rockefeller Center store and place the order by phone. They ship once a week, and I always have my box fairly quickly. Boxes make terrific gifts ... including for yourself. If you're walking in, I recommend sitting down to enjoy a few pieces of chocolate, then taking the rest in a box with you. There is a cozy but comfortable seating area in the back just for this. This area is also an ideal place to enjoy some of their drinking chocolate. Highly, highly recommend.
