Neapolitan White Chocolate Truffles: Swiss chocolatier Lindt has been crafting and perfecting their chocolate for over 150 years (since 1845). The Neapolitan White Chocolate (NWC) variety is part of their limited time spring collection and was first introduced in 2020 (to the best of my knowledge). I'm going to begin with a brief tangent for those of you unfamiliar with Neapolitan Ice Cream. Supposedly it has its origins in the cuisine of the Italian city Naples and the Neapolitan immigrants who brought spumoni to the U.S. Spumoni is an Italian dessert that uses three different flavored (vanilla, cherry, and pistachio) layers of ice cream that resemble the Italian flag. Americans would put their own spin on it by replacing the cherry with strawberry and the pistachio with chocolate. Moving back to the NWC truffles, the outer shell is comprised of a smooth and creamy white chocolate infused with strawberry, while the equally smooth core is a melty milk chocolate and white chocolate truffle. Although Neapolitan is not a favorite ice cream of mine (fruity ice cream is not my thing), Lindt absolutely nails it with all three flavors clearly coming through. Like all the other truffles I've tried from Lindt, the texture is phenomenal. I was a bit skeptical going into this one and only picked these up out of curiosity when I spotted them on clearance. I love Lindt chocolate so I was very happy with this concept. There was a bunch of flavors laid out throughout the store and I was able to mix and match what Lindt chocolates I wanted as well as how much I wanted! My fiancé and I had a lot of fun looking at all of the choices they had. There were some regular flavors like Milk Chocolate, White Chocolate but there were also some fun flavors like Pumpkin Spice, Milk Chocolate Sea Salt. This is the new flagship location of Chocoladefabriken Lindt & Sprüngli AG, which is better known as Lindt. They're also across the street from a flagship Ghirardelli store, which they also own, if you aren't aware. In general, I find Lindt too sweet, but that is also coming from someone who is a dark chocolate lover. For this location specifically, the staff here are friendly and give samples, which is a plus. Anyway, if you're wondering why you'd want to stop here instead of just going to the literal CVS around the corner which sells their products, you can customize stuff better here, and there are many more options. Along with the standard truffles they are famous for, there are flavors available only at this location, as well as seasonal ones. Some current ones include shortbread, made with milk chocolate, as well as a snickerdoodle, which I didn't realize was made with white chocolate, or else I wouldn't have purchased that one (it was still tasty,) and others. The truffles are around 62¢ post-tax for a single one, so it's a little cheap and tasty treat. Outside of truffles, there are bars, some fancier chocolates, and bark, among many other things. Of course, there's a Dubai option like every other chocolatier in case you want to purchase a cheapo version here. Obviously, the chocolates in general are not as high-quality as Läderach, Li-Lac, and other spots, but they are at very different price points, so that's to be expected. The latter spots are more artisanal, while this is a step up from Hershey's "chalk-olate" and other cheaper brands. If you're looking to buy a gift without paying an exorbitant price but still want a step up from Hershey's or similar places, I would recommend going here. read more

Tomorrow I am attending an all day event devoted to the olfactory senses. This is Sniffapalooza's Fall Ball. It's exciting every time I go. I know several of the perfume people at the various boutiques. I started my own tradition of giving a few chocolates as a way to thank them for their time and input. The joy on their faces is lovely to see. So I go to Lindt and buy an assortment of chocolates and either put them into tiny bags or just give it to them. Today I got milk chocolate umbrellas and gold coins. I find that it is better to give a brand that people are familiar with than something else. Alma helped me with my purchase and the accumulated points which help a lot. Rose gave me a truffle of tiramisu which is the newest flavor to come out this season. It's not in the store as yet to buy but when it does come in one should race to get a stash. I know that I will. read more

First time here. Was shooing in the area and noticed I was near two chocolatiers. Mozied on in. The lovely young man ( with locs and beautiful skin ) saw me about to struggle with the door and left the counter to assist, that alone set the tone. He offered me a milk chocolate sample and then informed me of the offerings. Each individually wrapped item is .98cents. A bit pricey considering, in stores you can get a large size bag for around $8-$12. However, the difference is this location has flavors I've never seen. I was particularly excited to try flavors such as almond butter and coconut. Neither disappointed me. You can also make purchases for brittles and chocolate blocks per pound. Overall, Lindt is one of the richest chocolates and while their neighbor across the street also has a cult following, you won't be disappointed you stopped in. read more

I was disappointed with my experience at the Lindt store in New York. The employees were not friendly, came across as rude and unhelpful, and seemed quite dismissive. Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt uncomfortable while shopping. These chocolates have way too much unnecessary sugar. There are maybe one or two out of the dozen or so Lindt chocolates I've tried that are somewhat well balanced in sweetness . Went to get their Dubai chocolate bar recently and it is the worst by far I've tried . At 16 dollars this was an embarrassment . It was super sweet and had the thinnest knaffeh layer and paled in comparison/quality to similar offerings from Bouchard etc . My glass jars at home look gorgeous filled with colorful Lindt chocolate balls. The only downside is I end up eating all my decorations! Favorite flavors here include: White Chocolate (gold wrapper), Neapolitan (pink & tan wrapper), Coconut Chocolate (teal wrapper), & Stracciatella White Chocolate (baby blue wrapper.) If you buy 100 balls, it comes out to only $.30/piece. I've never purchased, but they sell gifts in beautiful packaging, chocolate bark sold per pound, as well as their gourmet truffle line. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Lindt shop opened on W34th Street but apparently it's been opened since December 2018. As I was walking in, I knew I would be getting a nice treat..a sample of truffle chocolate! But to my surprise, the employee was also handing out a 10% coupon. So now I knew I got to check it out. What else would surprise you? Well there was a wheel of fortune where you could get up to 30% off coupon. How nice! This location is a little smaller than the one on 5th Avenue; however, there was a wide range of chocolates and gift items. This is a chocolate lover's dream come true. Even if you aren't, it's always fun to shop for others. I ended up getting two bags of chocolates as there was a promotion on receiving a free movie ticket (see my photo). They helped me make a perfect selection of a blueberry cream truffle. Nice Lindt white chocolate flavor with an interesting touch of blueberry. You can hand pick as many flavors as you like - there are about 15 different chocolate truffle flavors and 10 other chocolate pieces, along with chocolate bark. Ask about any specials. People raved about the neapolitan chocolate/vanilla/strawberry - it's fantastic with a true strawberry flavor. I can't praise the staff enough! I was in NYC for 2 long weeks of work, stuck in hotel room - not eating in restaurants due to Omicron - COVID and the cold. I walked to this great shop after Sunday church services and was well rewarded. I got a "pick your own bag", and walked around the selection a couple of times until I filled the bag. The selection was wonderful - fresh as I would have expected - and delicious. The staff was very helpful, friendly and explained all my options, including getting me signed-up for their loyalty program. I'll be back the next time I am in New York. Amazing place! The staff was really nice and offered a lot of help. When we first went into the store me and my friend were also offered to try the new chocolate (matcha or dulce de leche). I decided to try the dulce de leche and it was amazing. The chocolate was creamy and delicious. At the end I got a 75 piece bag, a 40 piece box , and a 12 piece tin box. They also gave me an extra plastic bag to protect the paper bag from the rain which was really thoughtful.
