Scheduling is a pain, and like others have said, getting through on the phone is difficult. I have been seen here several times in the past several years and on multiple occassions I've had them tell me 1-2 days before my appointment that they need to move my appointment. Dr. Peters is good and helpful, and I like him. He answers questions and takes time with you. I have a relationship with this practice and don't want to find another but to anyone considering this practice good luck with scheduling appointments and them sticking to them. read more

I have been a patient for 8 years. Dr Peters did help me initially. In fact, he gave me my diagnosis and prescribed my medication to control it. I have seen the Nurse practitioner for years now, regularly. I have barely had a change to medication and never has Dr Peters suggested discussing a change. Without any notice, and after attempting to get a medication refilled for over a week now I was simply declined. Without any notice or reasoning. When I attempted to learn why, I was simply told that the nurse practitioner was no longer there and mg medication (which was prescribed by Dr Peters) would no longer be available and that it was not up for discussion. There was zero consultation or consideration for the patient (myself). The office staff is absolutely horrendous and always has been. I have documented occurrences of medical Botox going missing. I only continued going here because of the NP and she cared about her patients. If you are looking for a neurologist I would highly suggest you look elsewhere. read more

Front office experience was the worst I've dealt with in all of my experiences. I am a doctor myself and understand it can be difficult to get good help up front, but to be demeaned, ridiculed and treated unprofessionally is unacceptable. The woman should be fired. I wish I got her name. I merely asked a question and she rudely told me " we do not negotiate here". I left and told the doctor that referred me and he also will never refer again. Very disappointed. Save yourself the misery and seek another neurology office. She questioned my appointment mistake (I was told the wrong day) as if I committed a crime. We drive over an hour to get to Dr. Jon Peter's office at Neuroscience consultants in Reston, Va and our experience has been consistently frustrating. On one visit, we arrived in time but spent over 15 minutes wandering the building trying to find the office due to poor signage. By the time we checked in, they had already canceled the appointment and charged us a $50 bo show fee. Even worse, they refuse to release your medical records to another provider unless you pay that $59 dollar fee first. So not inly do they penalize you for being late due to their own lack of clarity, they hold your health information hostage until you pay up. Meanwhile, if you're on time and checked in , expect to wait 15+ minutes for the doctor-no apology, no urgency. The double standard is glaring. This practice feels more focused on enforcing fees than providing compassionate care. read more

The doctor is good but this is for the billing and front of house. My address changed and I thought it was updated but was not despite going to the clinic. For a year and a half I didn't know the bills weren't paid and had collections called on me after three months. I received no bills and could not see them on the patient portal. I was told additional charges would not be added by the front of house but collections said no. Billing was not helpful and I am very frustrated and disappointed. This all could have been avoided if someone reached out to me about my address being wrong. Would not recommend and no one is helping read more

I particularly appreciated the time with Dr Peters and his thorough discussion about my period of amnesia, follow-on care, and return for consideration of filing my application to the FAA for removal of my medical suspension for flying. In an area that has so many doctors to choose from, DO NOT make this your first choice. The bedside manner has gone down hill from when I came years ago. My first and only appointment was an absolutely disaster. They are clearly understaffed, the Dr interrupted the appointment TWICE, once to take care of another patient (left me waiting for 10 mins in the room) and then the 2nd to answer his phone (it was an appointment reminder). I spent more time waiting to be seen than when I was actually seen. What a waste of time! He was clearly put off with the paperwork and notes that I had brought trying to help find answers on why I've been having problems. When I asked one question on if it could be a particular issue, instead of telling me why it wasn't or even looking at the paperwork he verbally berated me on why I would want this issues. He basically told me I had somatic issues (clarified it wasn't his area of expertise) and go see a counselor but he could at least help me with my complex migraines and threw me some sample migraine medication and literally walked out. Because of recent memory issues and migraines, I had to write everything down which I had time to since it took weeks to get the appointment. Well I did go see a counselor AND other specialist(s) who have helped me find some answers and NOT treating me like a business transaction to control. In a sea full of medical professionals, do not settle. There are wonderful doctors out there who actually believe you and will help figure things out. I will say the ladies at the front desk were nice but what's the point if the SME treats you like crap. read more

Zero stars. I called to schedule an appointment a month ago and the receptionist asked if I was available on December 24th. I said no, that's Christmas Eve and she said the doctor will probably cancel clinic that day anyway. Why even attempt to schedule patients then? So we booked for Dec 27th. Then on Dec 23rd, they called and left my mother a message that the doctor will be out of the office and I need to reschedule... When I tried calling back, of course it went to voicemail and they didn't call back until the next day. The next available appointment is in January so I said forget it; I'm sure that appointment will arbitrarily be canceled as well. I also asked why they called my mother about MY appointment and claimed only my phone number is in their system. Clearly that isn't true because you called her and she had to forward the message to me. I don't feel comfortable with this practice and will find another doctor. If I had this much trouble just getting and keeping an appointment, I don't foresee receiving quality care here. read more

The doctors and nurse practitioner Michelle smith are wonderful. However sometimes the outright rudeness of the admin staff makes it unbearable to keep them as my doctors. The staff refuses to answer simple questions or help in anyway, I asked if they can check when the last time I got a refill on a specific medication was and she just wanted to argue with me and just said it doesn't matter the doctor said I can't have it refilled again until a certain date. I know I hadn't had it filled in over two months, and she does too... she ended the phone call saying there's nothing she can do and refused to acknowledge they may have made a mistake. This is not a first time occurrence, they are consistently rude and unprofessional. read more

I've been a patient since early 2020, and the staff, doctors, and nurse practitioners have always been excellent and super helpful with everything I have seen them for. It was particularly challenging when I first came to the practice at the very beginning of Covid, but the staff made everything work out, and I was able to get tested as necessary. I am highly satisfied, and I love their newish office location. Dr. Peters and Michelle Smith are particularly good at what they do and very personable. However, calls to the office are not returned promptly, thus the downgrade from 5 to 4 stars. I would still return to Dr. Peters due to his abilities. After 10+ years of a decent relationship, I am now an ex-patient. I received a call from the office stating that my insurance wouldnt "go through". They were using some random third-party verification. I contacted Anthem. Anthem confirmed my coverage. That wasnt good enough for them. They basically told me to figure it out- with me and my insurance company saying "we did, why wont you cover him"...After days of silence, I attempted a follow up with more of the same- only this time with a bit of attitude sprinkled on top (Friday lady wanted to leave early). Finally, I receive a mysterious (now known as the setup) call from an elderly woman (presumably the office manager) who is rather "prickly" with me and wont answer any questions- only wants to know how long my current perscrption will "hold me"....these arent vitamins. A seizure could KILL ME. But their feelings got hurt, so they dont care. Did they call? Nope. Cowards sent me a letter that I received today stating that they are "terminating my treatment". #HypocriticOath #PersonalityOfWood read more

JOHN HOLMES performed an assessment for a stroke for my father-in-law. His conduct and dismissal affected the outcome of results and caused distress in an older gentleman who should have been treated with care. Dr. Peters refused any conversation or apology. John Holmes snapped, yelled, and crackled and popped. $500 bill for being mistreated and I will never have my results. This office does not abide by Va Dept of Health Professions policies. read more

Dr Peter's is AMAZING! And, so is his friendly and efficient staff. I'm 68 years old and went to get some baselines established as I am aging. I was concerned I might have on-set of dementia or Alzheimer's which my mom had, whether I was in a COVID fog or if all my symptoms were part of the "aging process". Dr Peters took me very seriously, listened to what I had to say and ran a battery of tests, as I requested, so I could have my baseline for the future. He did a great job of explaining all of it to me. On follow up visits I've found that the day before I have an appointment, this man is doing an update on the aftermath of COVID. Went to him for the first 7 years I lived in Virginia and he couldn't seem to get and keep my seizures under control no matter what doses or what medications he put me on. I went to a different neurologist who introduced me to the Vagus Nerve Stimulator and now, seizures are well controlled. read more

Waited over a month for an in person visit for migraines. We all know how terrible migraines are. Get to appointment form out of the area and they didn't have any record of the appointment and so happens I have a migraine the same day. Oh and they said they have me as a no show on another date. No appointment time to squeeze me in.. just for them to ask 3 questions and suggests other meds. Unacceptable! Now that's 2 months without treatment. Terrible. My husband started seeing Dr. Cintron in July and I have to agree he is very knowledgeable. Unfortunately the office staff is pretty sad. When you call the office you never get a live person, only a machine and you can leave your number, they might get back to you, they might not. My husband had a test done last week and not sure when we will hear back. If we had to do it again, even though he is a good Dr, I would choose another. He can be the best Doctor ever, but without the staff support, it doesnt really matter. read more

I've been with the practice for nearly a decade but am only there because it's difficult to get into other practices. I'm dealing with Medicare restrictions due to a line of duty accident that the VA won't recognize. What's frightening is the level of spinal damage I have, Doctor Cintron nonchalantly mentioning the extent of it, and never providing a full treatment plan. Asking for medication for pain and muscle spasms as resulted in months and years of no response. I call, I write and it's cruel and awful. A decade ago I would've written a different review but the last five years with him have been not nearly as useful. read more

Every time I call I am on hold for 10-15 plus! The lady named Angie hung up on me during a recent call. She refuses to listen to you and will just put you on hold FOREVER. The office managers name is Jessica and she is very un-helpful in resolving any issues. So sad that a doctors office treats there patients with such poor respect. When we are the ones paying for care! Co-pays and insurance are not cheap! Health concerns are serious matters and should be treated with importance. Hope this will spare anyone from the stress of having to deal with them. So many elderly folks go there for care I can't imagine how they treat them. So sad. read more

They stopped providing even simple bloodwork for an issue I'd been treated for there for a long time, and when I call to make an appointment as soon as my name comes up the desk staff claims their "system just went down". Also one of the techs who does testing likes to spout libertarian ideology unprompted so that should have been a red flag. Stay far away if you're LGBT. read more
