I had a very poor experience with NeuroSpine and would not recommend them to anybody. After initial scheduling they had a situation that required them to reschedule me which I found out out about via voicemail. It took a week of unreturned calls and being transferred to lines that were never answered before I could get rescheduled. I showed up early for my appointment and got my x-rays done. I will say the x-ray staff was awesome, friendly and efficient. I was called back to the Dr.Millers on time at 10:20 where I sat until almost 11:40. Nobody checked in or let me know why things were over an hour behind. My experience with Dr. Miller was unpleasent. He seemed extremely detached, made little eye contact and spent about 10 minutes with me where he offered me next to nothing in regards to my spine issues. He told me my spine looked like it belonged to a 70 year old and that outside of stem-cell procedures in other countries there was nothing that could be done. He said they have a pain management clinic I was free to talk to and that was about it. No talk of options, physical therapy etc. While I dont need to be coddled or treated with kid gloves I did find him to be quite rude and completely disinterested in what he was doing. It was at a level that made me uncomfortable as I felt like he was irritated by my mere presence. Also no apologies offered for lateness of the appointment. I will add that the front desk staff was very friendly the day of the appointment as well. Maybe I caught the Dr. on a bad day who knows but it was a poor enough experience that I wont return under an circumstance. read more

Horriable office and aftercare. I would not recommend Neurospine. I didn't get my life back,what I got was neuropathy and a drop foot after the second surgery that was done because after my first triple lumbar fusion I woke up with both my feet numb. The second surgery was suppose to relieve the nerve pain and I'm in far worse shape then before I ever let Dr. miller operate. The overriding theme in all of these reviews is primarily office staff not answering calls or even bothering to return calls. I do really like Dr. Moore, Dr Miller and Devon Parks. However, the office staff is incompetent, unprofessional and pretty much just lazy. I have left Brandy (Devon Parks) three voicemails this week. Not a single return call yet. Really pathetic. I recently attended their seminar on platelet therapy. It was a good presentation. Although, when it came to the questions, they were very vague. When asked about the cost for platelet therapy or platelet therapy with stem cells they gave a huge range. They asked the audience who were patient's to raise there hands. They broke HIPAA law. A person in the audience even shouted out that he just broke HIPAA. When a doctor in the audience asked a question about how they activate the platelets, they were quick to go to another question. Later I tried to get information from there front desk and the young girls couldn't answer my question about cost, platelet therapy, stem cells, or the doctors length of experience. Horrible aftercare I got infection in incision and they didn't return call. Had to go to the ER where they made appointment where I showed up and I was told I'd didn't have one. Dr. Angeles is a great surgeon. I've had her two cervical spine surgeries for me and she is awesome. I cannot stand her PA Steve and refuse to see him. When he checked on me in the hospital after my last surgery both times all he talked about was basketball. Nothing about me or my progress. He will not give you the attention or care you need. The medical assistance is a total bitch. She is the reason I will be looking for a new neurosurgeon if I ever need one. She has no compassion or empathy for people that have chronic pain. It's a shame though because I do love Dr. Angeles so much. read more

I came for an MRI, only to find out that they had me scheduled for an X-Ray only. I've already had X-rays done-why would I want to pay for the same thing again? While speaking to Brandi, Dr. Miller's assistant, she was rude, harsh, and spoke to me in a very nasty tone. I have never had a medical professional speak to me that way! Thankfully, Sindia, one of the techs, was right there and witnessed the entire exchange. She agreed that Brandi's tone was uncalled for. Sindia was sweet and understanding. I will go somewhere else when this gets straightened out. It's too bad, because the people at the front desk and the X-ray techs were really nice people. read more

It was decided I need surgery, I took a year to consider it. After I decided I wanted the surgery, Dr. Miller at Neurospine took 3 months to get me scheduled for surgery. Then, after surgery he sent me to his PA. I Never saw him again. I was given 5mg Vicodin for pain when I woke up from surgery. I told the PA a few days later I wasn't getting any relief. I was told that's what I was getting. Then they started drug testing me every week. I decided that was awkward and didn't continue any pain meds because they weren't working anyway. I'm back in his office 6 months later because the pain hasn't gone away. And I've been sitting in a patient room for an hour and a half after waiting 4 weeks for them to read my MRI. That was ordered late month. These people make you feel awful for being in pain. Then they treat you like a junky. Then they just stick you in a hole somewhere. I'm in healthcare. I'm Pretty forgiving for a lot of what happens during medical visits. This is just lazy work. With all of the other surgeons in town I recommend staying away from this office. The staff lies to cover up their mistakes. Mondays are the only time they have a physician to handle any concerns are need for help. I called complaining of high fever and severe back pain as a result of the surgery and I was told they did not care, couldn't help me and that I should leave my fate and any repairs to some unknown doctor at an Emergency Room. God forbid they don't LIKE YOU. THEY WILL TELL TO FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR, THEY DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU ANYMORE TO COMPLETE THE CARE YOU HIRED THEM FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. Stay away. Especially Veterans!!! STAY AWAY. The NeuroSpine Institute & the Pacific Sports and Spine, are the least caring and most inefficient medical facilities that I have experienced in my 70 years. I fear that they run some sort of "mill" operation that wants to get you in, perform as many procedures as your insurance allows, then leave you hanging. They have plenty of staff, but they are arrogantly aloof, indifferent to the patient and have given me the distinct impression that the patient is at best to be tolerated. In the past year, I've never felt welcome. In fact I leave feeling that my visit caused them extra work - which I know it didn't. They're over staffed, yet are constantly hustling to keep up. An example: one visit, the Doctor comes in with 4 people. One with a laptop to take notes of the visit, and the other 3 were busy getting my vitals and taking things out of drawers and cupboards. The Dr. was FB telling them what he wanted, while asking me questions. He was giving verbal instructions to the keyboard operator, so I paused, figuring I'd resume answering when he finished. To my surprise he looked up and told me, "Go ahead, I'm listening." Can a person hold two conversations at once? I know I can't and am doubtful that people can - yet the few that can, can they really fully understand both conversations? And we're talking medicine here. Where mistakes can mean paralysis or death. They haven't returned calls and I've experienced long delays for making appointments. I've had prescriptions that have gone infilled. Never once has anyone offered an apology. I'm sorry if I sound dramatic or as if I have an agenda. It's just that I feel abused by them and would bail out to go somewhere else but I feel that I've had to jump thru so many hoops over the past 6 months that I don't want to go to another Dr. and have to start all over again. I'm in constant pain, and medication is just a Band Aid that may just reduce the pain a bit. But I'll take it! Plus I have braces, a Tens Unit, heat packs & ice packs, and mental tricks to interfere with the pain signal. But I turn 71 next month, and my back is Not going to get better. After 30 years of back problems and avoiding back surgery, I find myself eager to go under the knife to solve this finally. I do not want to spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair or in bed. I want to spend my retirement as an active person. No, not football or competitive games, but walking, hiking, fishing, travel, tinkering in the garage and being involved with other people. I spend most of my days now in bed. My pain is minimal there. My agenda if anything is to warn you, along with the many other negative reviews that I've read on Yelp. Search out a better facility that can help you. I really regret that I didn't search out reviews of the facility and the Doctors. read more

Another grade F - Have requested MRI report on 3 separate occasions. Two people said I have medical release form on file, and now the last one said I do not. Now she has to mail me one (and I was just in the office yesterday). Had a follow up appointment yesterday but was sent two appointment reminders because they now included an x-ray appointment. This after they forgot take the xray when the MRI was performed was doing. Definitely a practice where the left hand never knows what the right hand is doing. Drs. could do a better job of understanding symptoms. A lot of the notes in my file don't match appointment visit. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Greg Phillips. He was great at explaining the procedure, addressing my concerns and answering my questions. It all made me feel very comfortable before the procedure. After the procedure, I was back to normal activities right away and the follow up from Dr. Phillips office was awesome. This is my final update of my Neurospine expeience as my treatment is drawing to a close. If you are lucky there are few times in life when you have to fully put your trust into a surgeon. Unfortunately because their staff is so uncaring, I had a hard time ever being able to fully trust my Surgeon .I was approached by a receptionist at Neurospine asking me to forgive her for forgetting about my follow up patient care because her recent surgery "right up the butt" her words not mine had left her in so much pain she needed to be on a significant amount of Demoral and her memory wasn't fully intact. She then followed up with a some racially slanted remarks that made me to uncomfortable to discuss her behavior with the physicians on hand. I later followed up with an official complaint via E-mail. I still see this receptionist working in the Neurospine compound presumably still taking an active roll in patient health. The surgeons that own this compound should be ashamed. The keys regularly left in the Bio hazardous waste bins only emphasize the lack of concern for their patients well being and are an immediate public health hazard. Be aware of this if you are deciding where to go for spinal surgery. If I had know any of this beforehand I certainly would have picked a different facility and likewise a different surgeon. read more

Avoid Carmina the Butcher. She sliced my neck open two years ago and now I have hardware holding my cervical spine together. Pain is twice as bad as before the surgery. At a very stressful time requiring surgery, we were grateful to be referred to Dr. Angeles. She has a great bedside manner, listened to and responded thoroughly to all of our questions and concerns. She has a wonderful sense of humor and never made us feel rushed nor that she had somewhere else to be. My husband is a professional tournament archer and each visit she remembered and asked how his. season was going and if surgery helped him as far as his profession. Absolutely ridiculous how long I had to wait when I had an appointment set up! They didn't take me back to a room until 2 hours after my appointment START time (and yes, I even came in early and had the paperwork filled out before my appointment start time.) after waiting over an hour I asked the receptionist if there was a problem and she said there is still someone ahead of me and they are running behind. No apology whatsoever. My appointment was at 11am which I made 4 weeks ago (bc that was the soonest they could get me in for my two slipped discs) and they didn't take me to a room until 1:05pm. Then I waited another half hour in the room to see the doctor. Do not go here unless you want to wait 4 weeks for your appointment after you got an MRI showing your back is messed up, only to wait over two hours in a waiting room to not see the doctor. I had a great experience with Dr. Phillips at first, now it seems as if patient care isn't much of a concern/priority. I've left 3 messages in the past week and a half...their voicemail states they'll return your call within 24 hours....I've yet to hear back. I'll never go back to him. I recently had surgery at Two Rivers Surgicenter, part of the Neurospine Institute. My surgeon was Dr. Gallo and my anesthesiologist was Dr. Finkelstein. They are both superb physicians and were highly recommended by my own physician. The staff is friendly and competent. It really is a great place. The location is a bit hard to find on Centennial Loop off Centennial Blvd. on the way to Autzen stadium. There are 3 doors, one to the neurosurgeons/physiatrists offices, one to the surgery center and one to the orthopedist/spine surgeons. It is confusing the first time. read more

The staff was amazing except for the Neurologist. I waited (in a gown) for an hour and a half for the Doctor. Once she came in, she seemed really tired or high, as if she couldn't keep her eyes open. She spent about three minutes with me all to ask me what I want to do about my back. Ummm....Aren't you supposed to recommend treatment. A new patient of Dr Phillips, at this time I still am in pain but hopefully something can be done eventually. What compelled me to give a review is my experience so far regarding staff, first of all the doctor has never been on time for me I always have to wait at least 45 minutes. His assistant never calls you back even though she gives you her phone number. When you call the main phone number it's not unusual to wait 15 minutes before someone answers and twice I was given the wrong phone number for the different departments. If one has the patience and can't find anywhere else to go then you have no other choice but to go there, I know if had different insurance I would find a place that runs a little more smoothly. read more

I have had to utilize their services three times now. Twice through their offices, once one of their doctors in another settings. Every time we have had extremely long waits (think 3 hours for a 1 minute office visit), we have had to push and prod and almost fight for insurance payments to be processed correctly. And the bills, even after insurance are incredibly high. Three strikes and you are out - we will definitely be looking elsewhere for future needs, even if we have to travel. - - I think the doctors themselves are knowledgeable and personable - it seems to be the administrative side of things that causes issues for patients. We have had nothing but problems since being moved to this office. I drive my father in for his appointments ( he has been seeing the same doctor for years but the Dr. was moved to this building a few months ago ) and several times we have been sent away because when we arrive they say the appointment had been scheduled for earlier that day and we missed it. Even though we have the time written down and once i had even personally spoke to the receptionist to confirm the appointment time. Several times my father has come in for his pain pump refill and then after was told his Dr. was not in that day and would need to come back in again to be signed off for his prescriptions. All these extra trips are hard on my dad because he is disabled. ( not to mention time and gas money ) It takes him a lot of effort to get ready for an appointment so every extra visit is hard on him. I have been hit 4 times in Eugene and for the last 6 years I've been going to Neurospine. First iffy wit commercials lie. They're always giving false hope of getting your life back. I have spent close to if not over $250,000 just there with doctor appointments and procedures. Went in today and was informed that since I can't pay up front(progressive insurance sucks with paying bills), that they no longer could see me. Forget that I was willing to sign something saying I'd pay it later or that progressive would pay them once it's settled. They're all about the money and not helping even someone that has gone to them for so long with the hope that these different procedures would help. Now I'm cut off with no medication to help my damaged disc in my neck and who knows where to turn. Thinking I may make a tv show with rick dancer TV show showing Their nasty details of this place. I'll say I like Greg Moore as a person but for him not to see me when I've done so much, well, it made me mad enough to write this review. Not a smart move Neurospine. These guys were the most unprofessional people I have ever had to deal with. I went to them once two years ago. The secretary was flirting with some guy on the phone and kept the window closed instead of taking my paperwork. The X ray girls took pictures of the wrong part of my spine and then yelled at me for asking them to retake the pictures even though the doctor hadn't even seen me yet. Then doctor made me do a bunch of bending overs in my hospital gown and then never told me if there was anything wrong with my neck. I tried to go again two years later with a different doctor but they said I had to reschedule my appointment, so when I tried calling over three times, I was bounced around on hold for over twenty minutes every time. The last lady said she couldn't even see my appointment in the system so I gave up. What a JOKE!!! read more

The people handling the prescription refills are terrible. You have to call several times to ask them to send in a pre-authorization form to the pharmacy. When they don't provide enough information on the form, you have to call them repeatedly to get them to call the pharmacy with the information. They don't return your phone calls. Ever. You are extremely lucky if you even get them to answer the phone. It is usually just a recording to leave a message. When you leave the message, they don't do anything. It is a waste of time to leave a message. It does not matter to them that a patient could run out of their medicine because they are too lazy to send in the pre-authorization right the first time. If you do finally get to speak to someone, they will tell you the standard "we are working on it", which is an obvious lie because if they "worked on it", a patient would not have to call for several weeks because nothing had been done. Or, they tell you they cannot call the pharmacy right now because they are taking care of patients who are there for their appointments. What about the appointment I was at when I told the Dr. and the person with him in the room that they would need to send in a pre-authorization with the prescription? I consider them calling the pharmacy now to correct their mistake on the pre-authorization form they finally sent in (a month after the prescription was sent in) part of my appointment which was before the patients they are seeing now. Correct the mistake you made at my appointment before you go on to the next patient to screw up their prescription. The doctors may be good, but it is not worth it to deal with a supporting staff that does nothing. read more

I am a primary care physician who sends patients to specialists. I sent one to this group this week. The report by the physician at the Neurospine Institute was amazingly dismissive of this patient and his needs. This is the second physician in this group to whom I can not send patients because of very poor patient/doctor interface. It is true that the patient had limited insurance which would be unlikely to pay the physician the full amount for his care, and the patient had to foot the bill for the office visit; which he did immediately. I will not be sending another patient to this group. read more

I had a partially ruptured disk and a bone spur pressing on the nerve to my left leg. It would go numb and I could not step without fear of falling. I could not sit stand or lie down without constant pain. If I rolled over when asleep, the pain would wake me up. Dr. Angeles removed the bone spur and repaired the disk. I am now pain free! They are very busy and wait times were a bit longer than the usual, but the results made the waiting well worth it. I had both my x-rays and MRI plus made off site, then came to see Dr. Camina Angeles at Neurospine in Eugene. read more

They do not pick up phone, they do not schedule for months, the doctor spent only two to three minutes with me and then she wrote in my chart that she had extensive discussions with me about my care which is a lie, she try to sell me some expensive product without even asking if I have allergies and she wanted to charge me $300 to $500 for it. A friend had recent spinal surgery at the NeuroSpine Institute, performed by Dr. J.Christopher Noonan---he received EXCELLENT care before, during and after his surgery! The staff is very friendly and professional, and went out of their way to ensure that this surgery could be done. They put the patient at the very top of the list, which isn't always the case in our health-care world. Dr. Angeles spent no more than 3 minutes evaluating my daughter. I finally had to track her down at her Roseburg clinic to get her to refer my daughter to Dr. Morgan. ( That clinic was packed wall to wall with injured people, all day long. I do not recommend being seen there) . Dr. Morgan was attentive the day she provided shots to my daughters back. That's the last we heard from her too. On numerous occasions we have requested a referral to OHSU. To date, it has taken us 5 months. We have been seen twice. It is pitiful if not criminal. If you want quality care don't go to the Neurospine Institute, as they will slice and dice and leave you in total pain. My husband's T-12 spine surgery by Carmina and her associate Dr Miller was a total botch job and he's been in total and consuming pain since the operation. His titanium cage collapsed with all the rods and screws and his constant suffering is unreal. Did Carmina or her staff help in any way, hell NO they did nothing after his botched operation. There was no after care at all and Carmina only said after his cage collapsed, "Oh, I guess I should have put more rods further down". I don't think any of these doctors at the Neurospine Institute have a conscience or the care would be more 'humane'. You put your trust in these doctors, then they bungle the operation and they think nothing of it. You're just another number to these unprofessionals, but they sure rack up the money at your expense. Hey, Neurospine Institute, we are real people you're butchering and now we're in constant pain because of your lack of knowledge, care and unprofessional conduct. I wonder, how do you doctors sleep at night. Oh, guess you have to have a conscience first. This company is not very friendly to veterans. Twice I have been scheduled to be told they won't see me after traveling to their office. The first time after my initial visit to get a spine injection they said they wouldn't see me due to issues with TriWest. Now why would they see me for the initial appointment to turn around a couple of days later to cancel my injection. After waiting or another doctor to see me and two months later they called and said they could do the injection. So Today i went for my injection and they said they would not do it because they said I missed my appointment, which was at 2:30. I showed up at 2 for the appointment and they come out to say my appointment was at 1:30 and they would not do the injection. So I have been dealing with this non functional doctors office and get screwed over because of their mistakes. They wanted to set me up another appointment in a week. Told them I would find another doctor even if it takes months again. Stay away from this doctors office whatever you do if you are a veteran because they will screw you. read more
