Worst experience ever! Turned away on the morning of my procedure because I 'had to' use a different taxi service to take me home afterwards. Their recommended transport services were not available, so the office staff would not allow me to be seen, even though my taxi driver had first aid training. The office manager kept saying that I should have called to schedule one of their cabs earlier? 2 weeks isn't enough? If I can get myself there, I can get myself home, regardless of what taxi I take. Why are they releasing patients at all, if the patient is still incapacitated from sedation? I was without food or sleep for 3 days prior to this procedure, and was not in any condition for this manager to be chastising me on what cab I used! She ended up frustrated, and kept saying 'Do you want to reschedule?' Obviously she has never experienced a colonoscopy, and No, I did not want to reschedule. I had been in there twice before, once for a C/O and once for a gastric surgery to prevent a cancer from growing. That surgery went bad and I ended up in the hospital for 6 days. So Yes, I'd been there before. No, I've had enough of OEC, and frankly, I'd rather get cancer than go there again! read more

Dr. Kay and Rebecca Howard are wonderful. The problem is in trying to get an appointment. Nobody answers the appointment line...EVER! I waited on hold for well over an hour several times before I gave up and eventually called the triage line. The nurse on the triage line was very rude and told me trying to get an answer to my question was, "taking too much time away from other patients". She made a point of telling me how incredibly busy they are (triage dept) with paperwork. She left me feeling like an huge burden. Unfortunately, one bad person can ruin the entire experience. read more

I had a video telehealth appointment with Amy Littlejohn and she was amazing. I've never had a visit with her until a few days ago. I told her my concerns and she gladly went over them with me. We also discussed my colonoscopy results with me from my colonoscopy that Dr. Yang did. I've been seeing Dr. Yang for 15+ years now and he's also very thorough and listens to my concerns and goes over those concerns. I highly recommend Eugene Gastroenrology Consultants. read more

Erica! didnt explain things. laughed at the patient, even said good luck getting seen around here. wouldn't explain how the procedure went to waiting family. also male nurse standing with chest pumped out like he was going to do something was funny! only to get nothing about the procedure in the mail and today we get a letter after more then 30 days saying they will no longer be seeing us after 30 days. didn't give after care instructions to patient who had never had anesthesia. do not recommend peace health! and I surely will never recommend the gastroenterologist read more

No one would expect someone to say their colonoscopy was a great experience, but mine was!! From the minute I walked in the door everyone was cheery, helpful and informative. The wait was not long, they responded to my concerns and desires and kept me comfortable. Dr. De Lee was great - careful, efficient, cheery and thorough. My husband had some procedures done but due to unforeseen circumstances, bills both medical and otherwise consumed us. Because of this, we had to file for bankruptcy. Well, we received this letter in the mail as a result of that. My husband never missed an appointment. They know this. Apparently, the thousands of dollars paid out by insurance just isn't enough for this money hungry, greedy, uncaring practice. It's disgusting to me that even now in this economy with everything going on, they would refuse future services due to someone's financial circumstances. If I could give their triage phone support a zero I would. I called to have my pres. transferred to new insurance and she said that I need to come in. To which I said I had just been in for a colonoscopy.. She then shouted, YOU WERE SEDATED IT DOES NOT COUNT. I said, whoa, calm down! Then she went off on me and then HUNG UP ON ME! I cannot believe that someone like that is working on that phone but I can see why if she is a nurse she is relegated to the phones and not a real nurse! She has no training and as of now, I have called to try to get thru and no one is returning my calls to get the meds I need soon. I have had issues with this "front office staff" before. It's to bad because the doctors are pretty good. But this... it's not acceptable. Now I feel my meds are being held hostage by an incompetent phone support person. Terrible lack of professionalism and communication. Terminated me as a patient without my knowledge 3 months before my scheduled procedure due to a consult bill I missed following a stroke. Did not find out until the day before my procedure, despite multiple calls and them giving me instructions to stop life saving blood thinners. 6 days without necessary medications for no reason. There are some EVIL people here... most are nice kind people, but the ones that make the pieces move are evil. Especially the triage nurse Sam. I can see other 1 star reviews that describe a very similar situation to mine... You are treated like cattle, a product. Rushed in and rushed out, "NEXT!" I tried to schedule an imaging apointment. I was talking to the triage nurse on the phone and asked to have them look in a nearby spot that i have been asking the doctor about and he wont look. other medical people i visit seem surprised that the doctor isnt looking my complaint. so I tell the triage nurse that I don't want to die because of someones incompetence so can we just have someone look? I immediatly got sas from this woman "that's my boss you are talking about you know" "do you just call up peoples work and insult their boss" I was shocked. I said I don't really give a shit who he is im just trying to not die and get better. she said "we are done then" and hung up. Every time I have to deal with these people its a nightmare. they forget to send labs in, they forget to send Rx, you basically have to do their job for them and hold their hand every step of the way. doctors give the impression that they dont care. you are a game of battle ship, match the symptom to the drug B6 FIRE! lol. dont bother having any thoughts of your own and any thoughts from other medical professionals is blasphemous. I would drive hours to avoid this clinic. I've shared my story with other doctors and my wife is in the field. everyone I have talked to has said this place is bad. it has a reputation in the area. dont say i didnt warn you. read more

Although it takes a long time to get in to see a specialist (at any medical office) or schedule a procedure, the staff here was friendly for the most part and easy to work with. Dr. Mills did a great job and I appreciated everyone's bedside manner. One woman was a bit cold but otherwise it was fine. Getting my results took a lot longer than I had hoped for - 2.5 weeks instead of 1 week but after a few calls and messages I finally received them. I appreciate the good care they took of me and would work with them again. read more

All the stars are for the procedure staff & in particular Dr. T. Lee. Great folks. Totally professional wonderful humorous great folks who turn your lights out take care of your exam and get you out of there in half an hour. Also, nurse Karen who had a lovely bedside manner - I appreciated her. Here's the rest of the scoop: Everybody goes to the dentist at least once a year sometimes twice, but nobody wants to talk about needing a colonoscopy. Listen, "prep" is not fun (a pain in the butt, literally) but aren't we all grown-ups who can acknowledge that we have a digestive tract and all ends of it need to be maintained? At a certain point you're gonna need to do this. It's really not that bad. Yeah they make you eat really boring food for three days and then is the dreaded prep which does involve drinking nasty stuff and then spending a lot of time in the bathroom, But really the only bad part is having to wake up in the middle the night to finish the prep and then go painstakingly early in the morning. (I am assuming you're getting the very early appointment so you don't have to spend all day not eating. That's a hot tip. As is drinking that prep stuff really cold there a straw so you don't actually have to taste it on most of your tongue.) So when you've gone through all of that you got to go actually interface with these people at the office. The only reason I don't give five stars Is that there was no one at the window @6:30 & check in is at 6:45am. This meant there are a lot of people milling around from 6:30 to 6:45 and many folks would've jumped the line of folks didn't stand there, queued up. I wish I had thought to recommend putting one of those number taker things at the front so you could just go sit down and wait till your number was called. Also- wasn't crazy about the big cavernous ER type staging area where you are led to disrobe, get an IV and be run through the legal pieces of this procedure but I thought the nursing staff was excellent. All in all, I recommend them. read more

I most highly recommend Dr. Srinivasan, a gastroenterologist at Riverbend. He is extremely knowledgeable and really believes in educating his patients. He is thoroughly professional and has a pleasant personality. His appointment schedule is very heavily booked up, but he is well worth waiting for. read more

If I were to begin at the end - as it were - I would be giving this place a better review. Unfortunately, though, there are more factors than whether or not a doctor happened to be competent (and it's tragic that that's ever even a factor at all). - So, to start with the "gatekeepers", the administrative staff. These people frequently ranged from unpleasant to downright nasty. And I mean NASTY: losing important notes (repeatedly), handing out wildly contradictory cost quotes, giving glibly unprofessional pushback against reasonable questions, and sometimes not even bothering to call in a prescription as necessary. Much of this was done out of spite, no two ways about it. I wish I were exaggerating. - After eventually getting an appointment set (after a 7-week wait), I arrived at the hospital and had to ask around to find the appropriate check-in desk... seriously, it's like a scavenger hunt of parking in one place, crossing a bridge, and peering around corners until you find the right spot. I might not have thought much of this, but for $567 million, they could have planned a slightly better layout. It's only the surgical unit! - Another ding is the wait time upon arrival: having endured the "prep" ordeal (which entails guzzling a gigantic jug of icky chemical water over a period of hours, resulting in violent diarrhea *many* times, much of it at 6:00 in the morning), I found that I was supposed to just sit and wait another two hours in the hospital. All after not eating for nearly 24 hours, and blasting my guts out repeatedly. Why the wait? I still don't know. All that happened during that time was a nurse asking me the same questions I had answered previously... again... and again... and again... - Which reminds me. If you have the pre-screening consultation about getting anesthesia, that means yet another long wait time a few days prior to the procedure. What's involved? Getting called into a back room where you sit for over an hour, and then get asked the same basic questions. The wait was so absurdly long that I actually started wandering the halls, looking to see if anyone even knew I was there. If someone can't see you until 2:00, then why the hell do you "need" to be there at 12:30? It's a recurring theme at RiverBend. I might also mention that the anesthesiologist asked me "have you ever been called a freak of nature?" when I described some symptoms. Not sure what problem this "professional" had with me (or some other aspect of his life), but it was in a blatantly unfriendly tone. What the hell? - But on to the good news: the competence at the end of the tunnel! The actual reason for being there, having jumped through the *many* unnecessary hoops. When I did finally get wheeled into the back room, everyone involved had a good attitude, something I never really expect, but enjoy for the rarity that it is. So apart from the admittedly painful stuff they put in my IV (just mention it and they'll put something else in with it to dull that), I was lights out... and it was over literally before I even knew they began. That last leg of the journey was pleasant enough that I really would like to base the entire review on it, but when you knowingly staff a place of "care" with flippantly shitty people who control all the gates, you just can't hope for positive feedback from everyone. read more

I would give them 5 stars if they were a financial institution but as a doctor office one star is all they get. I was made to wait for almost a month for an expensive procedure when my problem could have been diagnosed with a simple and cheap test, which I had requested and was denied. They probably figured if my problem had been diagnosed early I could have skipped the expensive endoscopy, never mind the fact that I was in pain. I was seen at the ER for severe upper gastric pain. My doctor referred me to Eugene Gastro, the referral was marked urgent . Three days go by as I am waiting in pain to hear from them. So I called trying to schedule. I was told repeatedly that someone would call me back. Never happened. On my fifth phone call to them I ask for a manger. I am put through to the manager Jamie Barton. She said they refuse to see me because 8 years ago I saw them once and I owed them 194 dollars. I explained that that year I was homeless and then my mother died unexpectedly and I moved to seattle, I never recieved any communication from them. I asked if I could pay and then be seen and she stated no. I'm permanently fired from the clinic. I asked if they we're planning to call and tell me that ever? She had no response. I explained I am in a health crisis and have been waiting days in severe pain for them to call me. She was unapologetic and very unkind. They were never going to call me or my provider to tell them that they refused to see me. They abandoned me and had nothing to say about it. I am filing an official complaint with the state medical board for patient abandonment. read more

I have seen Dr. De Lee now twice in the past 5 years for my endoscopy and colonoscopy needs. He and his whole staff are absolutely wonderful. I had my procedures done yesterday, and it was about the best experience I could have expected given what I was doing. The nursing staff were wonderful, my nurse anesthetist John was great, and Dr. De Lee is hands down one of the best docs I have ever seen. My family and I feel very blessed to have such good providers in our city....highly recommend. read more

I got a referral 3 weeks ago...when i called initially with the advice of my primary care doctor, the woman on the phone was very rude and told me to "not do that"...she said it takes at the most 7 days to hear from them...well the two week mark comes around and i call again! a different rude receptionist told me they would call me by the end of the day on Monday. so now it's been THREE WEEKS and they told me they would get back to me next week. She listens & took her time to explain my 9 'important to me' questions that I just couldn't google. 9! All 9; she explained them all & set me on a path of hope. Dr Amy is easy to talk to, intelligent & I trust that she cares & actually knows what she's talking about. I would very highly recommend Dr Amy to anyone with digestive issues. I should have taken the invitation and prayed for a doctor who could hear or see or understand . The dr I got here could not track what was important . his attention would only reluctantly be drawn to overt human suffering in plain view , then he would revert to his self stimulation . Can you imagine the religious delusion being foisted at public expense being a valid substitution for medical care ? The catholics have taken over the medical establishment to such an extent that they don't even need to hide the swindle .
